6/25/06 -  Tripper continues to be the perfect guest.  He is full of love and devotion   and would make a special
companion to anyone that was looking for a friend.   He is so easy to have around that you almost forget that he is
here.  He   will play for a short bit with the other dogs but the next minute he will be sleeping on one of the dog bed or
his favorite chair.  He never misses a trick and surely don't try to sneak a bone to any of the other dogs because
I think he sleeps with one eye open. We brought home a new foster last week and as usual, Tripper couldn't wait to
meet him when we thought it would be a good idea.  He again jumps over the gate to do his own meet and greet.
He is so funny.  He is eating good, sleeping on a dog bed in our bedroom with never an accident.  He will even pick
up a toy once in a while.  Tripper attended the volunteer meeting with us a few weeks ago and got along great with
Jabez who also came along with us for the trip.  They both shared our room and had no issues.  He also enjoyed
meeting all the volunteers that attended the meeting.  Tripper is so easy in so many ways and no matter what you do
with him, it is not a big deal.  He loves going in the car and will wait patiently for you to come back to your car always
giving you the
> happiest wiggles.  Tripper's foster dad and I always talk about what we wish for our fosters and for Tripper, we just
want him to go to a home that will give him the attention that he deserves.  He just wants to be a big part of
someone's family.  He will never disappoint you.  Friends like this don't come along that often.  He would be the best
friend you ever had.

5/14/
06 - Tripper has been doing great at his foster home.  He is now neutered and up to date on all his vaccinations.
He also had a skin tag removed from his right eye and has had the stitches removed.  So, he is ready for his forever
home but let me tell you what a great dog he is.  He is a sweetheart and almost will make your heart skip a beat.  He
loves life and he may look old but does he have a lot of life left in him.  Our Peaches has him playing!!!!  I mean he will
chase her outside in the backyard and he can motor.  He will play nicely with her in the house and loves toys.  Peach's
is so funny that she will just keep toying with our fosters until they just give up and play. It is so funny to watch.  She
lives by the rule that everyone should have a playtime everyday whether you need it or not. He is really something. He
loves to go in the car and will wait for you to return forever.  He is just happy to go. He just loves to be with you.  He
even likes to help you do some gardening.  He catches a quick nap in the grass until you are ready to move to the next
spot and then he gets up and moves to the new area. Tripper is a good eater and is getting two meals here a day
which he loves. He is free in the house when we are at work and is perfect.  He is so happy when you return home.
He lays by your feet at the kitchen table and if you want to rough house with him, he is more than willing to play.  We
are just so in love with this guy.  We laugh at him because if he wants something like a treat, he will back up as he is
telling you what he wants and then just suddenly sit down.  He is such a character.  He is good with dogs, has paid
no attention to our bird and just loves finding a piece of sunshine to take a nap in.  He loves walks and is such a
gentleman, great on a leash. But as we all know, there is no boxer that is perfect.  One night after we went to bed, he
was hungry and helped himself to a couple cookies that I left on the counter wrapped in foil.  Another time he helped
himself to some biscotti cookies that again I left on the counter.  He is smart enough to not do it in front of you.  I think
he is like a baby and needs to have a little snack in the middle of the night but his foster dad is not buying it. I just
laugh because he never misses the chance if I screw up.  I hate when these fosters are smarter than I.  So, don't
keep this guy waiting any longer.  He needs a best friend and it could be you.  He is one great dog.

4/24/06 - Tripper has settled in just fine.  He is a big sweetheart and seems to be enjoying his first few days here.  He
went to the vet today and had his heartworm test which was negative.  He weighs in at 58 lbs. and his right
eye has been very red so we checked that out.  He has a skin tag very close to his eye and the vet will take that off
when he is down for his neuter as it is not allowing his eye to close all the way.  The vet said that it should be fine
once we get that off of there.  He is beginning to eat better and we finished up his worming medication that the shelter
sent with him tonight.  Tripper still has alot of boxer spirit and yesterday he left our Peaches speechless which
doesn't happen very often in her life!  She was kind of bored so I gave her a new toy and she had it in her mouth and
Tripper went right over to her and stole it from her mouth.  We got such a charge out of it and Tripper never looked
back!

He is eating kibbled food mixed with a little warm water twice a day and a little can.  He does like toys but only plays
for a short while.  For a guy his age, he is doing great.  He is a little bit of a talker and he has to really think about what
he wants to tell you and while all this is going on, he backs up.  He is quite a character!  He loves the dog beds and
will follow us anywhere.  He walks great on a leash and has taken a few walks down to the lake with his foster dad.  I
laughed yesterday as his foster dad went to take him for a walk down to the lake and let go of his leash thinking
Tripper wouldn't walk to fast.  It didn't take his foster dad long to learn that Tripper can move faster than you think!  He
has had no accidents in the house.  He starts out sleeping in our bedroom on one of the dog beds but moves to the
couch during the night.  Tripper will be a great  addition to any household.  He is the best!  Tripper gets along with all
his foster brothers and sister with no problems.  He was a little excited about the girls but our girls are unresistable
and Peaches made it clear to him that she wasn't his type. He again started going backwards just from the evil eye
that Peaches gave him. He met a cat today at the vet in a cat carrier.  He went right up to the cage front and had no
reaction to her hissing at him.  I think this guy is a real keeper.  Think about making him apart of your family.  He loves
car rides too!

4/22/06 - Tripper is the newest guest at the Boxer'In on the lake. He was a stray from a shelter and we are hoping that
we can make a big difference in this sweet boys life. We would like to thank Dave and Linda for pulling him and
meeting us today to pick him up. The pictures are after a bath so you can only imagine how bad he looked. His foster
dad gave him a bath and he was an angel. He ate a great supper, took a little nap on the nice warm water bed and
has met all his foster brothers and sisters. I keep telling him that Peaches will grow on him and that he just needs to
give it some time. We will do another update tomorrow as he gets settled in. He will need to be neutered and brought
up to date on some of his vaccinations.
