UPDATE 2/7/08 - I can't believe Ty has been with us over a year!
We had a great summer.  Ty and his brother Max celebrated their birthdays in June.  Lots of dog and
human friends attended.  In fact, Allison, Ty's foster mom was able to join us.
Tyson is now an experienced camper and boater. I thought for sure he would jump off the boat to go
after the birds, but he was well behaved.
We visited the dog park several times.  Ty got along with everyone.  Ofcourse, he thought every ball
that was thrown was suppose to be for him.  I can't get over how fast he is.  He just loves to run.
He and our neighbor's dog, Chaos, love playing together.  They will both hold on to a toy and just tug.
They will be nose to nose and neither one wants to give up the toy.  It's funny to see him pull around a
100 pound Bullmastiff when he only weighs 60 pounds.
Ty had fun over the holidays with visiting family and friends and was very good when we went to get his
picture taken with Santa.
On a sad note, Tyson's brother, Max, went to the Rainbow Bridge on January 28th.  Ty was not very
active for a few days afterward.  Found him sniffing the places Max used to lay. Depending how things
go, maybe we will be back looking for a new sibling for Ty.
Thanks to all you at Second Chance - you do a great job.

UPDATE 6/16/07 -   Can't believe 6 months has passed since we adopted Tyson!
Tyson completed obedience training.
Continues to be full of energy.  Has a new playmate with the Mastiff next door.  Tyson holds his own
with a dog twice his size.  They love to run and play.
Did have a minor medical scare.  Tyson was diagnosed with Histiocytoma, which is a beign growth, on
his leg.  The Vet told us there was a good chance of it going away in 3 months and luckily it is almost all
gone.
Tyson turned 1 on April 19th and we are going to celebrate his birthday on Saturday (wanted to wait
for good weather to hold it outside).
He continues to grow and keeps us on our toes.  Still gets along with Max, but he definitely wants to be
top dog.
Thanks to all of you at SCBR for your dedication to helping these dogs.

UPDATE 3/17/07 - Tyson continues to be a great addition to our family.  He has so much spirit and
energy.  Always on the go.
Only 2 more obedience classes to go - so far so good.
He does great in a car, loves to go out for a ride.  Hope he can teach Max to behave a little better in
the car.
One thing he does with his toys is if they go somewhere he can't reach, he won't try to go after them, he
lets us know where they are so we can retrieve them.
He tends to be vocal when he wants to initiate play with Max.
No problems at all when he goes into his crate.
Once again, thanks to all of you at SCBR for eveything you do to bring these dogs into our families.

UPDATE 2/14/07 -   I can't believe how fast time has gone by.  Tyson is a great dog. He and Max get
along just like brothers.
I have never seen a dog wiggle his body as much as Tyson.  His whole body is in motion.
And boy does he love his toys! Wants to play fetch with you all day.  You could be out of the house for
only a minute and he will be at the door with a toy in his mouth ready to play.
He loves the snow!!  No matter how cold it is, he wants to be out in it and play.  Doesn't like snow
shovels, goes after it when Bruce is shoveling.
Went to our 2nd obedience class on Monday, gets along with all the dogs. Sometimes he has selective
hearing with respect to some of the commands.
Tyson likes to be in the middle of things, especially if Max is sitting or laying next to us.  Tyson squirms
his way in between.
We are so happy he is part of our family.
Thank you to all of you at SCBR for doing the great work you do.

UPDATE 1/6/07 - Well it has been 4 weeks ago today that Tyson (formerly Titanic) joined our family.
We were a bit hesitant to see how our 8 year old boxer, Max, would accept Tyson, but so far, things
have been more than we had hoped for.  Both play together and it looks like Max is bonding with him
more every day.  Tyson is a ball of energy.  Keeps Max on his toes.  He is very affectionate and loves
his toys!
We had a house full of people on Christmas and he got along great with everyone, from a 2 year old to
an 88 year old.
He has gotten along well with all the dogs we have met.  On New Years Eve we went to a party and he
met 2 more dogs and they all played together.
We went to the vet today and he behaved well.  Did find he has roundworms, but that is easily
remedied.
Bruce has been training him and he has learned how to give his paw, a high five and lickless kisses.
Will be attending obedience class in February, and fully expect him to be at the top of his class
(valedogtorian).
That's it for now, we are so happy that you are here to help place great dogs like Tyson.

12/9/06 - Titanic has been adopted!

11/17/06 - Titanic went to the vet today for a pre-neutering check-up. His updated weight is 46lbs. The
doctor was so impressed at what a good dog he is. He agreed with me that his forever home will be
coming for him real soon. Titanic is now updated on all of his shots and set to be neutered on the 21st
of this month.

He is doing very well at home with Moses and I. I think it might be safe to say that he is house trained.
He loves to take stuffed toys outside with him although that is not allowed here because Moses would
leave them out to get wet and yucky. Titanic is so funny because he tries to pick up as many toys as he
can before going outside. He's up to two, I think that's all his little mouth can handle for now.

Titan and Moses will run around the yard for hours playing chase. Titan learned that the key to taking
Moses down is to go low. My boy is tall, so Titan puts his head under his belly and pushes him around.
Either that or nip his legs a little bit. It's pretty humorous. This is a smart little dog and he listens well. I
bet he will be the top student in his obedience classes!

11/13/06 - Just to let you know, this dog's official name is not "titan", but "titanic". Guess the first one's
a nickname. I was just reading over his vet work and that is the stated name on the invoices. He actually
responds to that name very well.

11/9/06 - Titan is a seven month old male pup. He was an owner surrender. He was a sister's gift to a
brother who had just lost a dog. This boxer boy was a little too much for the brother so he returned
Titan to the sister. Titan did not get along with the sister's dog, so...this little handsome guy is looking for
a family.

Titan has not had any accidents in his crate! One #2 in the house Tuesday, but my fault because it was
while I was drying my hair. He did it right by the front door, poor guy! I let him outside frequently to
keep up his house training skills, however he has shown that he can hold his bladder for 5 - 6 hours.

Titan is not too thrilled about his crate (he's in it at night or when I'm not home). He barked non-stop
the first night, however did much better the second night. It was hard, but I ignored the barking and it is
decreasing. I think he will do well in the crate once he gets more settled in here and put in there more
consistently. I have a feeling that crate training was attempted, but he was let out a lot when he started
barking.

Titan has been the best playmate with my dog Moses so far. He matches (and exceeds-puppy power!)
his energy level and have similar play styles. Finally someone to play "boxer" with. Now if he was only
4" taller! I love to watch them run around the backyard together and then come in and crash.

Titan is a really good boy. He loves to play with soft toys and chew on nyla-bones. It was stated that he
can be destructive when bored, so I have been keeping an eye on him. He stole my shoe, pulled on my
pajama pant ties- typical puppy stuff.

It appears that Titan was a couch and bed dog at his previous home(s). I tell him "off", but he's pretty
persistent.

I believe that Titan would be best for a family that has another dog (preferably a boxer that won't mind
being swatted at!) that is energetic and likes to run and play. He is a jumper, so I'm not sure about very
young kids. He can open doors by jumping, so secure doors/locks/gates would be a must.

I know that as soon as he's neutered, it will not be long before he is in his forever home. Will update
soon.
