UPDATE 3/12/07 -  Theo's mom here - wow it has only been 6 months - feels like we have a had an
"always" relationship. I just love Theo! He has really settled in here - he has it pretty good and he likes
it that way. We had a lot of fun this winter outdoors - his grandpa (my Father) bought him one of
those really nice horse creation coats - tan and black so to match his coloring. He looked great
running through the snow on his walks. We completed our obedience training - did great for awhile
but picked up some bad habits - all that positive reinforcement was great but he took advantage of
some of it - thought he was in control - seems to respond a lot better with a stern word or command. I
had to leave for a week long trip to Califonia - he stayed with other members of the household but he
wouldn't sleep upstairs - stayed in the chair watching the door - really loves his momma - but I called
home a couple of times a day to see how he was -so the feeling definetly is mutual. I can't say enough
- can't tell you how blessed we are - can't imagine life without him! Thanks SCBR for rescuing him
and giving us both a new life.

UPDATE 11/21/06 - Oops my mom is a little late on my 3 month update - things have been pretty
busy in her life so I thought I would write it. The best part is...I am still the center of her world - SHE
LOVES ME! Because she loves me so much I just adore her (maybe it is the other way around -
either way it works!) We do a lot of stuff together - we just finished that class together the one where
I play - sitting, down, puppy pushups, walking politely, leave it and something called "recall" and she
CLICKS and gives me lots of YUMMY treats. Most the time I will do the trick w/a hand signal or
one word - sometime even before she asks but I don't always do the right trick unless I wait. The
other dogs in the class were funny - they obviously didn't like having fun & treats as much as I did -
b/c they were slow, I would get bored waiting for them and just lay down. Mom said I was the best in
the class! Don't tell her but one of my favorite things to do at class was something I didn't get treated
for...I like to slime the other dogs with my boxer drool to watch it drip down their face or get stuck in
thier hair. Man did it make me laugh - mom laughed too when the other dogs weren't around. We did
have a couple of stressful days though - mom had to leave me for 4 days & 3 nights - I stayed with my
"little brown haired girlfriend" but it wasn't the same - the 1st day I just ran around looking for her -
then the other days I would lay in the chair and watch the door - didn't feel like eating much either -
one time I got kinda frustrated and chewed on a wood door (1st time ever!) Mom asked the trainer
and she said I might have a little bit of something called "seperation xiety" - I don't think so - I think I
will be okay I just like being with her - most always she takes me where she goes so this was a little
wierd - apparently there was no way she could or she would. Oh and one last thing...I am going to be
in a Christmas picture - me and mom went out and took photos and she can't wait to send them to all
her friends and tell them how I came into her life this year and get this..."blessed her!" Ok gotta go -
more in a couple of months.

UPDATE 10/14/06 - THEO here (and mom) - 2 months wow - the cool thing is that I feel like I have
known my mom my whole life -we are best buddies. I have to admit I have grown a little attached to
her and on those rare times that I can't go with her I get a little anxious - so we are working on that. I
did start my obedience class - some of those others dogs are silly don't they know that if they SIT &
ATTENTION when they are told they will get a treat- most of the time all my mom has to do is give
me a hand signal - sometimes I do it without being asked just to show off. The instructors can't believe
what a good boy coming from a rescue and all. NO ONE can believe that I just met my mom cuz' we
are so close. She just LOVES me to death and I like that! Oh another really fun thing I have been
doing is going for walks in the woods - I have a little trouble walking politely on the leash - all those
great smells are really tempting but when I pull the walk stops for awhile. I'll get it. I had my first bath
here with my mom and I was so good! I even let her clip my nails without squirming. Mom and I have
noticed that sometimes men with baseball hats on that put there hand out for me to smell scare me and
I will nip at them - not sure but I think it reminds me of something in my past that I would rather forget
- because that is the only time it happens. OK well that is enough about me! I am so happy here in my
forever home - my mom and I thank GOD everyday for putting us together! Thank you SCBR for
making it happen and for all the work you do!

UPDATE 9/11/06 - Theo's forever mommy here! I can't believe it has only been a month - I feel like I
have been his mommy forever! I can not believe how well we bonded. The scene leaving his foster
parents was hard - he loved them and they loved him. He was a little nervous the first week and he
wouldn't leave my side - we would call his foster parents nightly just to report in (it made us both feel
better). It wasn't long before he realized that he was top dog here and that he didn't need to share
affection with any other dogs. And he gets love!! I can't tell you how happy I am - after I lost my
pitbull Baron after 12 years - I really prayed about what breed to have and God helped me choose a
boxer, then find 2nd Chance Boxer, and then led me to Theo. He is everything I wanted in a new
companion. He has got some great manners - we had one table surfing episode but other than that he
has been great. I found out what you all know...that boxers are an amazing breed. We have gone to
picnics, LOTS of car rides, walks, runs and romps with other dogs and in October we are off to
obedience school. Theo's foster parents were the best and a big help to us. I know God intended for
Theo and I to be together!

8/12/06 - Theo has been adopted!

8/4/06 - Theo has to have a gift for you when you come home. He'll pick up his water bowl in his
crate (water included for a face splash) take it outside to do his business and then bring it back in. It is
really cute.

8/3/06 - Theo continues to be a good boy at his foster home.  He has really settled in and we all just
love having him around.  His devotion to people has become a way of life for him.  He will follow you
anywhere.  He loves the other dogs and quite often you will find him sleeping on a dog bed snuggled
with another dog.  Yesterday, I found three of them on one little round bed napping all together.  He is
doing well in his crate when we leave and knows all about peanut butter filled marrow bones.  When
you come home and go to
let him out of the crate, he has to have a present for you. It's so funny, he will look and find the first
thing from his crate that he can give you. The funniest is when he picks up his small water bowl in the
crate and it
still has water in it.  He dumps it on himself.  Looks like something you would see in the cartoons.
Theo carries it outside to do his business and then he still comes in the house with it still in his mouth.
He is quite a
character.  He's a great eater and has begun talking about it while it is being prepared.  Theo has been
to the vet and is all up to date.  His heartworm test was negative and is now on preventative.  He was
a gentleman
at the vet and all the girls made a big deal about him.  He met a 5 year old boy while waiting for the
doctor and was good with him.  He even gave a few kisses as his foster dad was getting him down
from the little boys lap. Theo has a habit of nibbling at your fingers when he meets you along with
giving some licks.  He means nothing by this except it is his way of greeting you.  He will even do it to
your chin while he is giving a few kisses.  We have been working on him not doing this, but I think he
is just so happy for the attention that he forgets.  He certainly means nothing by it but we are working
on "kiss only".  He is patient while waiting for his treat.  I think Theo would be a great addition to any
home.  He would do well with another dog but if he was a big part of a family and their life, then he
would be happy also.  He has always been with other dogs here so it is hard to know how he would
be without another dog.  Theo has been waiting way too long for his forever home.  He is just a great
guy and he is very cute!

6/24/06 - Theo is doing great at his foster home. He is a sweetheart and a nice behaved boy. All he
really needs is a heartworm test before he is ready to go to his forever home. He loves attention and is
beginning to play with his foster brothers and sisters. He has found the toy box and has been busy
picking a few things out to play with. His main purpose in life is to be near the people that he loves. He
just wants to be with you. He is very happy just to lay at your feet. He began eating last night finally
and is now right there when he hears the bowls come out. He is eating kibbled food with a little bit of
can mixed with warm water twice a day. He loves dog treats and we are working on a few
commands. Theo has a beautiful coat and is the darker colored fawn color. He is in good shape.
When he plays, he is very submissive so he gets along with all of the dogs. He is certainly liking life at
his foster home. At night, he sleeps on the floor in our bedroom right next to me and I will rub him for
a few minutes and when you stop he lifts his head begging to please not stop. He is so cute as when he
first comes into the bedroom, he will come up with just his head and asks
for some snuggle time never coming all the way. He will even bend his paws so not to hurt you. He is
just a great dog. Theo will need to work on some obedience but I think alot of it will come once he
realizes what his new name is. Right now, he just doesn't have a clue. I crated him yesterday for about
3 hours and he did fine. He enjoyed his peanut butter filled marrow bone very much. He came in with
a bright pink collar on and his foster dad keeps telling him that "real men can wear pink" but we will
put a new collar on him today for his pictures. Any family would be very lucky to have him as their
companion. I have been doing rescue for a long time and it still shcoks me when we get a dog in as
good as this one is. We will update you as we learn more about this beautiful boy.

6/22/06 - Theo is a stray from a shelter and wasn't doing well in there. He seems to be very happy to
be at the Boxer'In on the Lake.  He has met all his foster brothers and sisters and has been wonderful
with them so far.  He was unhappy to be separated from them and his little nub was going so we did
introductions slowly and it went perfect.  Of course, our old man foster Tripper had to meet him first
so he jumped over the gate, took care of his introduction all by himself.  Never under estimate the
power of our senior dogs.  Theo would like to thank Linda and Gail for working to get him to us.  He
is 3 yrs old, flashy fawn neutered male with natural ears and a docked tail.  He is beautiful.  Check
back to see how we all are getting along.
