UPDATE 4/20/06 - We adopted Sugar on 2/19/06.  My husband and I took a trip from Auburn Maine to Richmond
NH to pick up Sugar.  We couldn’t believe how quiet she was on the way home.  I thought with how quiet she
was it would take her a while to open up to everyone.  But within a couple of days she was wagging her tail and
extremely happy to be with her new family.  She has been part of our family for two months now and it’s been a
nice addition.  I even think Chance, our adopted boxer boy (July ’05), likes having Sugar around.  It really has
been going very well.  Chance and Sugar sometimes get into little scuffles over who’s going to be patted first
or the longest, but other than that they really do well.  Sugar seems very content with her new family and
surroundings.  She absolutely loves to be outside (in the warm weather).  She is a totally different dog when sheâ
€™s outside as opposed to being inside.  She acts about 6 years younger than she is.  Both Sugar and Chance
will be going to obedience classes in a few weeks which should be interesting.  Sugar seems to have selective
hearing when it comes to listening to commands.  She’s not a bad or destructive dog, she just wants to come
when she wants to come or sit when she wants to sit.  I’ll keep you posted on how that goes!!  We are enjoying
her and are extremely happy with both of our adoptions through SCBR.

2/19/06 - Sugar has been adopted!

2-10-06 - Where oh where is my forever home?  I have been so patient for you to call.  Things have been going very
well here at my foster home. My foster brother Dudley is not as grouchy towards me anymore.  I have found a few
favorite toys here that I like to play with.  My favorites are the same as my foster brother Dudley's favorites.  He is
getting much better at sharing with me.  He shares a little bumpy ball we just found upstairs a few days ago, and
there is a piggy that makes funny noises at me that I like a lot.  Piggy is in the hospital now, developed a hole, but
foster mom says it is not fatal.  I also like the little hedgehog toy that grunts at me.  I especially like to go in my
brothers crate and chew on the leftover marrow bone he is always trying to hide in there.  Me and my foster brother
Dudley go outside for a little romp a few times a day.  Starting to get colder again, so we stay in most of the time
now.  I am getting very anxious for the warmer weather to hurry up and get here so I can spend more time outside
and enjoy the warm sunshine on the brand new skinnier me!  I'm also looking forward to taking walks with my
forever family.  I love to take walks.  As I mentioned, I have really been watching my treats and taking daily romps
around the yard with my foster brother and it has really helped me out a lot.  I now have a better shape to me and
feel a lot better now.  I also enjoy lounging in one of the dog beds here.  Sometimes I like to just lay on the floor
and watch a little TV with my foster mom.  I like to go in the kitchen and watch her make her supper.  When we have
company come over I'm always sure to give my foster mom a little "Yip" just to give her a heads-up.  Then I help
with greeting out company with lots and lots of wiggles.  They come back to visit because they like to watch me
wiggle.  I am a little bit shy at first when I first meet somebody new, but I warm up really quick.  I am always on my
good behavior.  My foster mom is very pleased at how easy I am to live with.  All I need is a comfy place to sleep
where it is warm and cozy and a little kibble and a few toys.  We keep toys in a basket in the livingroom, well there
are some that Dudley keeps by the back door, but my foster mom picks those up each night and puts them back in
the basket so we can find them the next morning.  Although I am quite a quiet gal, you always can tell how much I
just love people because my backend just keeps wiggling one side to the other.  My foster mom thinks there is a
button back there somewhere that I keep accidently hitting that sets my wiggle off.  I'm just very happy and very
anxious for my forever family to hurry up and find me.  There have been a few calls, but none for me yet.  I do hope
you will find me soon.  I need to become your special gal.  I promise to wiggle and give you lots and lots of kisses
and hugs.  I just know you will find me soon.  Please give us a call.  I am sweet as can be and really deserve to be
in my own home.  Until then I will be here waiting, so please find me soon.

2-1-06 - Well!! I can see Sugar has been busy while I have been at work. I got home.... computer in Sugar's crate,
typing her update, AGAIN. Sugar is just such a little sweetheart. She and my Dudley are getting along really
well now. Not that Sugar was ever the problem. Sugar is very easy going. All she wants is somebody to love her
again. She is fine in or out of her crate. Her weight is going down and she is looking better and better each day.
She did very well at the vets and everybody there just loved her. She really is very very sweet. Very easy keeper. She
likes to go out with Dudley and take a little jaunt around the yard then come in and keep me company. She will let
you know when she needs to go out with a little "yip". That's about the only time you hear from her.  She is a quiet
little girl. She loves to lay down either on or beside  the couch and just watch a little TV. She also has taken a liking
to the really puffy dog bed in back of the couch. It is doubled up so I bet it is really really comfy. My Gus (the cat)
hasn't been feeling well lately, but I have noticed that Gus will go visit Sugar when she is in her crate. That tells me
that Sugar is okay with cats. Gus is very antisocial. Sugar displays some curiousity towards Gus but that is about it.
I think Sugar would be fine with cats in your house. She would be fine with children of any age. She really is quite a
gentle girl. Walks fine on her leash and she knows her name. She can be a little stubborn sometimes, but will give
in after a short bit. She appears very healthy, but should still loose a little more weight. Dudley is helping her to get
in some toning in her backend. She very much likes to have just a little bit of canned food in with her kibble every
so often. She will crate, if you even need to crate her. She might be fine to just be left free roam while your at work.
So give us a call soon. Sugar definitely deserves to have a home again where somebody just thinks the world of
her. Until then, she will be here patiently waiting for your call!

1/30/06 - HI!! My name, as you know, is Sugar. I surely was named for my very sweet disposition and warm
personality. My foster mom is very impressed that I still have not had any accidents in the house and what an easy
keeper I am. I have a HUGE crate where I sleep at night on a comfy blanket. Foster mom feels that with my foster
brother being a little possessive of "his" things, it is best that I sleep in my crate for now. I went for a ride about a
week ago to go see the vet to go over all my paperwork and make sure I was all up-to-date and healthy. Very nice
place and everyone there agreed I am definitely named appropriately. I got a lot of ooohhs and ahhhhs while I was
there. The visit gave me a chance to get my wiggle exercises in for the day. As my foster mom thought, I was due
for a few pinches. That went very smoothly and so I am now all up-to-date and have had every nook and cranny
looked over to make sure I was just as healthy as can be. Everyone was very pleased at how I have lost a few extra
pounds already. The nice vet did think I have maybe another 10 lbs. to go and a little toning in the back left to work
on. I am finally winning over my foster brother Dudley, who was not that happy to see me come to visit. He is now
trying to help me with a little last minute toning so I will be just right when my new forever family finds me. I am very
anxious to find them. I am a very well behaved boxer girl and probably could be left out free roam if you really felt
you needed to go to work for the day instead of staying home and cuddling with me all day. I just love people. I am
a little shy at first, but quickly won over if you talk to me and tell me everything is okay. I'm not a pushy girl and I don't
jump up on people. I would love a forever family who would enjoy taking walks with me. I love to take walks. I am
very easy to please. I like to watch LifeTime during the days if my foster brother is not watching his westerns, but
doesn't really matter to me. I am perfectly content to sleep on my blanket in my crate during the days or would
probably be just as content to curl up on a nice comfy doggie bed for the day. I love to diet on a little bit of kibble
with just a tad of canned food mixed in. Being on my new diet, I usually just like about a ¼ can mixed in. Been
watching my waistline, so sometimes I like to nibble on a few carrots during the day. Although I am getting older, I
do not have any accidents during the day. My foster mom can sometimes be at work for a whole 10 hours, but I can
wait until she gets home no problem. I do even better than my foster brother sometimes does with this. I am a
mellow gal, but sometimes I like to kick my heels up a bit outside. I am not submissive or aggressive. I will stand
my ground if need be. I like to think of myself as just kinda mellow and very easy to please. My foster brother
sometimes forgets I'm not as young as I used to be and I have to tell him to back off a little. I am nice about it. You
know how those young'ens can sometimes be. Foster mom says he is still in training with the fosters, but I can
see a definite improvement just the short time since I have been here. Sometimes when I first came here, he
would get quite grouchy, but I just stood there and let him have his say. He is getting over it. We have lots and lots
of dog beds here. My favorite is the one behind the couch. Actually, it is two beds on top of each other. Ahhhh..... like
a big pillow and is soooo... comfy. I am used to being a special gal. Although I miss my previous mom, I am very
anxious to be some nice family's special gal again very soon. I am a very easy gal to keep happy. All I need is a
loving voice, with a few smiles from your face, carrots, must have carrots and that is it. I'm a quiet gal who lost her
home because my old mom had to go away. I miss her, but am anxious to meet my new forever family. Please call
soon, I will be here, patiently waiting!

1-10-06 – Sugar is doing just great in her new foster home.  She apparently just loves people.  Usually, when I
get a new foster in, I find an accident upon returning from my first day back to work.  I have learned to expect this
with my newbies just coming in to rescue, realizing they have no idea when I will be coming home again.  This
was not the case with sweet little Sugar.  She patiently waited until I returned home from work to take her business
outside.  There have been absolutely no accidents since her arrival…. Well …..with the exception of my bundle of
wiggles yesterday.  I thought it was supposed to be the fosters who come in a bit confused?  What a good girl
Sugar is.  She still is not eating, except for a piece of hot dog last night, but that is normal with all the recent upsets
in her life.  I left her a little of that really smelly canned food mixed in with her kibble just in case she decided she
wanted a snack during the day today.  I’m sure she will start to feel a bit hungry soon.  She has a little around
the edges to loose anyways, so I’m not too worried about it.  She is drinking plenty of water now, is full of
wiggles and just loves it when you talk to her.  She is still a little scared and surely missing her old Mom, but that is
to be expected.  She is showing signs of cheering up and adjusting quite nicely.  My boxer, who I adopted in
October, is still new to fosters being in the house and can be quite naughty to say the least.  Sugar I think might
want to be friends, but is getting tired of his antics, as am I.  I do feel Sugar would probably be better in a home
without others though.  She probably would be okay with cats, haven’t got my cat Gus’ input yet, but she is
looking to have most of your attention, so Sugar would probably benefit by being the only wigglebutt in your home.
She is spending more time out and about, exploring all the new things in her new foster home.  She isn’t too
interested in our toy basket yet, but is really eyeing a spot on the couch.  I think she will be the type that would just
love to spend her evenings snuggling up with her favorite people and watching a bit of the tube each night.  She is
a quiet girl who just wants to be loved as I think she was in the past.  She appears to be very gentle in nature and
obliging.  She knows “sitâ€ but we haven’t asked too much from her quite yet.  I’m still waiting on
pictures of her.  As soon as I get them I will post them.  I will ask Sugar if she might want to send in an update
soon.  I believe she said she was computer literate last night and she is staying in the BIG crate so she has plenty
of room.  She will send in an another update soon.

1-9-06 - Sugar arrived Sunday and sweet she definitely is. She has spent many years with an elderly woman who
needed to go into a nursing home and unfortunately had no other family that could care for her.  Thanks to a
groomer in NY, who saw what a little sweetie Sugar obviously is, she contacted SCBR to save Sugar from being
needlessly put down. We are waiting on pictures of this adorable fawn girl; and will post them as soon as
received. Sugar has had maybe a little too many sweets so she is going to go on a diet of hugs and kisses and a
little less kibble to get her back into a more healthy size while in her foster home. It was not clear if she was up-to-
date on all her shots, so she will be taking another ride soon to get that done. I heard from the transporters she
loves to go for car rides. She is obviously missing her long time friend, but appears to be a very very friendly girl
anxiously waiting for somebody to love her again. We will update you soon on this little wigglebutt as soon as we
get to know her better.
