4/22/06 - Roxanne has been adopted!

4/4/06 - Roxanne has a new nickname in our house.......we call her our little snorty pig!  I thought my boy
snored......Roxanne puts him to shame!  Roxanne knows her name and has very good recall.  She will come at
once if you call  her. She is quite agreeable to going into her kennel now.  She  sometimes will let out a dozen or
so yips but I don't let her out and she  settles down.  I have left Roxanne out of the kennel at night just to see  how
she is, she is completely trustworthy.  The only reason i'm kenneling  her is because of her heat cycle.  I don't like
making her wear the diaper  at night, i have a big towel for her to lay on.

She does not appear to  have any food issues and accepts a treat very politely....thank you very  much. She loves to
go outside and play and run.  She truly should go to a  home with another dog.  She is so happy playing with
Cosmo every  day and genuinely enjoys the company and companionship.  I took her  and Cowboy on a walk
tonight. She is a bit of a puller but totally well behaved  on the leash. She wagged her tail and kept looking at me
like "this is so  awesome!"  She is full of energy and it is funny for her size (trying to  help her lose a few pounds)
she is quite agile, she hopped right in  the truck tonight, too funny because after the walk I had to give her a boost
to help get the back end in the truck!  She has fully adapted to the routine here after only a couple weeks and is so
easy going. She is friendly to guests when they come over only seems to bark when my two do. Then she runs
over  to where they are and barks too.  Her disposition is just so sweet and her  face is just adorable.  She just
can't get enough attention, and she is so precious about it, you just want to give it to her.  Whoever ends up with
Roxanne will truly have themselves a great companion.  (a friend of mine keeps saying she is going to come over
and grab Roxanne and high tail it out of here and keep her!)  So before that happens, get that application in and
take this great girl home with you!!!!!!!!!!

3/27/06 - We have had Roxanne in our home for a week now and she is truly a wonderful dog.  She gets along with
my two boxer boys.  Loves to play box with Cosmo and is very gentle with my two 5 year old daughters.  When i put
them to bed, she will lay down at the end of their beds and stay with them.  She is very, very affectionate and I'm
thinking truly a typical boxer in that she loves to be near you.  At your feet, whatever room you are in........she is your
shadow.  And if you aren't paying attention to her she will do the boxer under your hand head flip!  Too funny!  And
the nubby is ALWAYS wagging.  Right now i have her in a diaper (since she has gone into heat) and you can hear it
swish, swishing on the material. Roxanne likes it outside, she will run and play and takes full advantage of my
enormous yard.  She isn't big into toys but once in awhile will choose one and settle down with it.  She is so happy
to see you when you come home or let her out of the kennel in the morning.  She really is just such a great girl!
She has no food issues and doesn't really counter surf.  She will jump up to see what you are doing. I think that
when she is adopted, her forever family would really benefit from basic obedience classes.  Roxanne already has
the basics down and is very intelligent but she doesn't know the commands or really what is acceptable behavior
in some areas.  She has tried to weasel her way on the couch but I'm not sure if that is something her old family
allowed her to do or if it would be something her new family would want her to do......so I try and not allow things
like that.  I have to get Roxanne out on her leash alone so i can see how well she does.  It was a chore walking all
3 dogs tonight so I couldn't really tell, she was pulling a bit but that might have just been because of the other two.
I really truly like Roxanne, she is such a great girl. Whoever adopts this sweet girl will truly have a great addition to
their family.

3/20/06 - Roxie is sooooo sweet.  She sits, gives paw, and is house  broken.  She will go in her kennel and is quite
persistent on trying to  sway you to let her out.  I on the other hand can be more stubborn and  apparently sleep thru
her barking, so i will win this one and she will  become accustomed to being kenneled.  I had planned on  taking
Roxanne right away to get spayed, but her "friend" came a calling and she is in heat and we will have to hold off.

She plays wonderfully with my boy Cosmo and  Cowboy is even tolerating her nosing around in his bowl.
She is quite....how should i put it.......girthy.  So we will work on trying to get her to drop a few pounds.  She will eat
only when  she's hungry.....in this house food is down 24/7 and she will walk by if  she doesn't want any.  I'm
thinking inactivity is why she has some extra  poundage.  She is VERY affectionate.  It is like she can't be close
enough to you, if you pet her she will paw at you and want to jump up just to be  closer.  We are dealing with some
ear and eye infections, so I will  hold off to take some new pictures, with her eyes all red, it looks  like she was out
all night partying!   We have only had her  a day at her new foster home so I will wait to see if she has any of those
quirky boxer traits that we  all love, i can tell you this......she does a lot of snorting! Think of a  pig at a trough
feeding.  It is hilarious because the snorting is deep and  throaty and she has this high pitched yippy bark, which
you can't even believe  is coming from her!  More on her soon.

3/12/06 - Roxanne is an owner surrender. Her owners both worked long hours, leaving her home alone for 10
hours a day. They are expecting their second child and do not have the time to dedicate to her. They were sad to
give her up but are sure that she is in good hands. Roxanne gets along great with my senior boxer and small dog.
She is extremely gentle with my cat as well. She knows "sit" and "paw" and is a well mannered young lady. She
loves to give kisses and gives the best hugs ever!  SHE IS SUCH A LOVE MUFFIN!
