UPDATE 11/29/06 - Neveah is doing pretty good for the most part. She has a great relationship with
my children. She loves to nap and cuddle with my daughter,Samantha. If I can't find her she is usually
in Samantha's room laying on her bed. Neveah did get into a brawl with my cat (Tigger). After a
couple of days at the vet's Tigger came home and is slowly recovering from her jaw fracture. Neveah
and tigger haven't yet had the opportunity to revisit each other. I am doing some studying on dog
behavoir and talking to neveah's dog obediance instructor about that behavoir. I feel that we can cross
that barrior in time.
Neveah has also had a couple of spats with my other dog Riley. They had fought over food, bones,
toys. Riley is asserting her "alpha". I also feel that with time and correcting behavior that eventually
they will all get along.
It is hard to beleive that Neveah has only been with us for 2 months. It feels like she has been here
longer. She has 4 more weeks of dog classes left. She is doing well in class.
UPDATE 10/29/06 - Nevaeh is truly a great dog. She has adjusted well. She is great with the kids
(licks them constantly) and has been a wonderful companion for my other 2 yr old boxer (Riley) that we
have. They are like peas and carrots. Constantly playing and napping near each other.
We made a trip to CT for a long weekend to show her to my best friend. She and Riley enjoyed our
little vacation away from home. She did great in the car.
The frist few days she wasn't eating a whole lot and was spitting up some food (due to her nerves). She
is now eating great 2x daily and loves to great her treats and chewies.
We just started with a dog obediance class last Saturday. It will go for 8 weeks. We have introduced
the clicker to her.
9/29/06 - Nevaeh has been adopted!
9/21/06 - Nevaeh is such a scared girl. she was kept in a crate for most of her life and was never taken
to the vets. When I picked her up yesterday I called the vet and they saw her right away. Her nails
were in desperate need of trimming and she needed her shots. Right now she is at the vets getting
spayed. It took me three hours of coaxing to get her out of her crate. She rode in the car for the first
time not in a crate on the way to the vets and was perfectly fine. shes had a few accidents on the floor
but thats to be expected. Shes really good with my kids kisses them to death , but she has knocked my
three year old over a few times. My five year old played fetch with her for 2 hours and she loved every
second of it!!! she really is a sweet girl once she warms up to you. I am sure that she will make the
perfect pet once she learns to trust a little and is shown consistent love and attention!!
