1/24/06 - Mandy was adopted!

1/4/06 - Mandy made her way to the Boxer Doxer and was spayed, got her shots, had a fecal exam which was
negative and a heartworm test which was also negative.  We took introductions slow with the resident Boxers and
she is now free in the house with all.  I think she would do OK by herself and also with another dog.  She is a tiny
girl, I guessed her to weigh 50lbs, but she weighed in at 42, she could stand to gain at least 5 more as her hip
pointers show.  She is a friendly dog and gentle with grandma and old grandma.  I don't have small children, but I
think she would be alright.  She crates very well, goes in with a peanut butter kong and is generally quiet.  Even
after being in a shelter for almost 3 months, she appears to be housebroke too, what a plus!

12/29/05 - I am changing my ways! I lived in a very chaotic environment, living in a house with parents that really
didn't exist and when they did, drugs and alchohol were the choice they made, not their children and not me.  As I
remember, the kids more or less ran the house, (I won't even call it a home) and I was bought with the intentions
of being a cash cow, thankfully, I never got the chance or I might still be there.  The kids were mean to me and I
frequently tried to escape this place, thus many calls from the concerned people in the hood that saw me running
lose almost daily and being in the city, that wasn't good.  I was seized by animal control and tied up in court for over
two months, can you say money maker? A very kind judge and the shelter folks went to bat for me and when SCBR
promised me a better life, the judge said yes! Apparently, those "people" didn't want to spend anymore time in a
courtroom than they had to! So, I have made my way to the Pup Tent and am awaiting a visit to the Boxer Doxer next
Tuesday.  In the meantime, introductions are going to happen slowly with the 4 other dogs here and my fostermom
will update when she gets to know me better.
