UPDATE 9/14/07 - I can't believe I updated Chloe, and forgot to update my baby boy. Well, we have a neighbor that
has an unpridictable dog named Lucky. & their Lucky escapes from time to time. I doubt their dog is licensed, but
mine is. I didn't wan't animal control showing up at my house when some nieghborhood kid gets bit by Lucky on
Lexington ave, So we slowly transitioned him to Lucius. Now it's the only name he know's(well, except for bean, &
Monster). He does lots of home visit's with me. If you let a high energy boy like him loose in a potential adopters
home & they don't panic, it's a good sign. He loves his job. We're gonna be starting him on agility training. He has
way too much energy. Now I just need to find a job where I can take him to work with me. We love this boy. He's the
greatest.

UPDATE 1/31/07 -  Well, it's hard to believe six months has gone by allready. Luc continues to be wonerful. He is
such a sweet boy. When he gets excited, he can pin you down and smother you with kisses. He is sleeping on my
lap as I write this. If he's not playing, he's sleeping... on someone! We found out that he does have a tough guy
side. Normally if a dog starts with him he just moves on. But another boxer that is a year older, but smaller went
after him at the dog park, he wouldn't stop untill that dog left the park. Then he wen't right back to his normal self.
That's all for now. I'll post pics soon.

UPDATE 11/5/06 - Update time again. Our little guy is doing well. He spends alot of time at the dog park, & will play
with dogs of any size. Our friends have a 9 month old Great Dane/Saint Bernard mix. He's at least twise luc's size
but they'll toss each other around for hours. Everyone who see's our boy comments on how much defined muscle
he has, and how fast he is. We were at the dog park when someone said... he's got to be the fastest dog in the
park. Then from behind us we heard... not anymore. We looked back and it was a woman that had just arrived with
an Italian Greyhound. Five minutes later her Italian Greyhound was getting smoked by my boxer. He's still the
fastest dog in the park. (We're so proud)
That's not his only athletic ability. He's quite the couter surfer! (not so proud of that) but we're working on breaking
that habbit. One look at that mugg makes up for whatever he steals of the counter. Well that's all for now.
Almost forgot...He graduated from obedience class.

UPDATE 10/1/06 - Lucky is doing great. He's still in obedience classes, and doing well. He loves his fenced in
yard and is barking at everyone who passes it a little less. He and his big sister Chloe spend a lot of time at the
dog park playing with their friends. Lucky's best friend at the park is a boxer named frankie. This little guy is great at
letting you know when company is coming. He goes buzerk. My sister calls him the bull in the china shop.
He has so much energy that we have to keep upping his food intake so he won't loose weight, but he's on solid
gold dog food... no added weight, just added energy! That's ok with me. Better thin and healthy than thick and sick!
We definately enjoy having him in our lives, and wouldn't give him up for anything. We call him Lucius, It's latin for
light. He's getting much better with my cat and has almost forgotten that my bird exsist's. Thank you scbr for giving
us this wonderful baby boy.

UPDATE 8/27/06 - Well it's been 4 weeks since we adopted our baby boy. He is a wonderful bundle of energy. We
take him just about everywhere with us. He loves people and other dogs, and he's slowly getting used to our cat.
We adopted Chloe two weeks ago. She had no idea what toys were for, or really how to play, but Lucky has been
more than willing to teach her. First he got her to play tug o war with a rope bone, and now she's showing interest
in fetch. He'll play fetch for hours every day, inside and out. We found out the first day he was here that he can pop a
basketball. He can also bark at the nieghbors with the basketball in his mouth. He loves the dog park & the other
dog parents always fall in love with him once the realize his barking and growling is just his way of saying he
wants to play. He sounds so aggressive but doesn't have an aggressive bone in his body. He started training
yesterday. He's very smart and picks up quickly. He's got alot to learn, but we allready know he'll be awsome. I
have an over sized recliner, and when he tuckers out at night he climbs up in it with me and cuddles. We have
some wonderful pictures that we will post soon.

7/30/06 - Lucky has been adopted!

7/17/06 - Lucky is making some really positive strides-it seems as though once he realized that there was some
structure and a routine to his life, he decided that wasn't so bad and maybe he could go along.  He continues to
work on his house-training skills and as long as he is taken right outside when he wakes up or comes out of his
crate, he does a very good job. He does go to the back door to indicate that he has to go, but sometimes, he
simply waits a little too long. He is really just a very young dog and he will learn these things with time. Lucky has
learned to play with all the doggie toys here and is very good about not touching things that are not meant for the
dogs-and that's a huge step for him. When he first came, he felt that anything was his toy, but now as long as he
has enough toys to amuse and entertain him, he is happy to play with just those.  He LOVES to play with balls of
any kind-and there are lots of those here-he bounces them off his cute little nose just like a seal would do-I LOVE
IT LOL, he gives me a good laugh everytime he starts doing it. He loves it if you throw the ball for him and he will go
and retrieve it and bring it back, he sits and waits very patiently for you to do it again.

I am very proud of Lucky for the amount of progress that he has made in a relatively short time. He is such a
sweetheart! He gets along well with other dogs but since we don't have cats, I am not sure about how he would do
with them. Lucky is a bit more comfortable with women than men, but he is not aggressive, just a little hesitant with
a man who is unfamiliar to him.

Lucky is having a great time here-but he would love a home of his very own and a family of his own to love.

6/30/06 - Just a little update on my Lucky boy. Lucky is as sweet as he can be and he doesn't have a mean or
aggressive bone in his little body-but unfortunately Lucky has had no obedience training or guidance in any way to
help him learn his manners.

He is 18 months old and very energetic and full of life, so at this point, I would have to say no family with very young
children. He has no leash manners and we are working on house breaking him. Lucky will do his business
outdoors when you take him though, so that is a positive and a good start! :) He seems to also have a bit of
submissive urination right now, which we will also try and get him past. Lucky will go into his crate willingly and
does sleep in there at night without a fuss.  He will bark when someone comes into the house, if he is not the
center of attention. Lucky is a typical teenager boxer in that he jumps on people and nips at their heels, totally
testing his limits and boundaries. Obedience classes will help do wonders for him. He seems very smart and very
enthusiastic about life, a perfect way to channel that is obedience classes.

It took 18 months to create this behavior so it will not be fixed over night. Lucky needs a family that will be able to
give him the dedication and attention he has not had thus far. I believe given the right direction and obedience
training Lucky can grow into a well-mannered adult boxer boy!

6/20/06 - Lucky has settled in very nicely. He is a very typical bouncy boxer adolescent boy who requires a LOT of
exercise and activity.  He is happy-go-lucky and a ton of fun to be around as he sees the entire world as his
playground.  He gets along very nicely with two of my dogs-Jazz, my nine year old, who surprised me with her
tolerance for him and Olivia who is just thrilled to have another young dog to play with.  He is almost totally
house-trained as long as you are vigilant and get him out often-he has stayed dry in his crate for up to 6hours and I
am very pleased with that. He has had one accident in the house, but that is because I did not get him outside
quickly enough when I got home from work.  Lucky sleeps all night without a peep and eats his meals with lots of
gusto. He can stand to gain a couple of pounds but now that food is consistently provided, I am sure he will.  We
are working on Lucky's leash training and he is improving very nicely. He is a very smart little dog who has already
learned sit and down-only for a few seconds, but that will come along as we work on it.  Lucky will make a
wonderful pet for the right family who is prepared to spend the time he needs to be the dog he was meant to be.

6/17/06 - Thanks to Jane for getting this boy out of the shelter. He is very frightened and a bit thin, but still the typical
adolescent boxer boy. Will do an update & send more info when I get to know him a little better.
