UPDATE 5/27/06 - Julie & Leannn, Here is 2 month update on Hurricane. We have had a situation that occurred at
the end of April Hurricane got loose at we were headed for the van in the driveway and he ran after a car. He
collided with the passenger door which resulted in a fractured leg and some bumps and bruises, we were
unaware that he would chase cars. However he is doing fine and he is getting plenty of TLC, we will reschedule
the obedience classes when he is out of the splint. If you further detail please email me or call me at  at home or
on the cell . Please delete me email from the transportation mail but I wish to continue on the email list for the
sharing of information, hope all is going well.

3/19/06 - Hurricane has been adopted!

2/13/06 -  Here is an update on Hurricane's possible health issues when he first came into rescue. The vet claims
Hurricane's  vision is normal and he is having no further trouble with his urinary tract.  He should be placed with a
submissive female or as an only dog.   He loves little Cleo, the miniature pinscher foster girl, but does not get
along with the other dogs in the house.  Do you have room for this great boy?!

2/09/06- Hurricane has been thru a lot the past few weeks, first he had kennel cough and was a pretty miserable
boy! Then the poor guy came down with a horrible case of the runs after his neuter. He has now been on meds for
a few days and that has turned completely around... thank goodness!
It was very hard to get to know Hurricane when he was first grieving and then not feeling well. He is now becoming
a different dog altogether...Hurricane loves Hollee Rollee balls and running about in the play area, he likes to play
keep away with people. I truly don't believe he was socialized with other big dogs in his younger years. He doesn't
seem to be too fond of them. He has lived with cats and isn't at all aggressive to the little Min Pin we are
fostering,he must think she is a cat! So I believe he would do fine with smaller dogs,he even appears to want her
to play at times.  He acts quite antisocial to Zofia, another foster, and barely tolerates our doggie ambassador,
Brody. Since everyone always loves Brody this leads me to think he shouldn't be placed with other big dogs.
Hurricane has lost some weight and is acting much more lively and playful....He is an awful klutz and trips over his
own feet....His favorite play time act is to try to do the "bump" with me...he will come up and swing his hind quarters
into my legs and give me a  nudge...than he dances away ...so I have learned to "bump" him back...he just loves
it....and will keep up the game as long as you are willing.
Hurricane will need obedience traing soon, this is another social skill that he seems to have missed out on in life
Hurricane will make a great companion .....he is so very sweet and loving....an all around great Boxer baby!!!

1/08/06 - Hurricane has arrived at the Upperfields. He is an owner surrender that had been with the same family
his entire life, he really doesn't quite know what happened to him at this point! How do you explain to those sad
eyes that his family "outgrew" him....He is having a little trouble adjusting and needs to be vet checked for possible
urinary tract Infection and vision problems. He doesn't seem to like the crate much and is very upset at all the big
changes in his life. He hasn't eaten since he's been here...we are trying to tempt his appetite, although he can
surely stand to lose a few pounds, we would rather do it thru exercise than a starvation diet!! Hurricane has the
largest neck that I have ever seen on a Boxer, he is a big strong handsome boy...he appears to be really sweet,
however, is under such stress that we are going to wait to do any more evaluation...I want him to feel a bit more
secure here before putting him under any more stress with the cats or child. More will follow on this guy...better
pics soon( I'm having a bit of technical difficulties with the darn camera!).
