1/9/06 We are sad to tell everyone that the older girl (also known as Dory or Roxy) from the Binghamton shelter did not make it. When our vet opened her up for spay, they found she was full of carcinoma tumors (spleen, liver) and her abdomen was full of blood from a ruptured tumor. She also had ruptured tumors previously and was a mess inside. Vet said she would not have made it a week, even if they had not done surgery. We did not bring her out of the anethesia, but let her move on to Rainbow Bridge.
On a happier note, Dory got to spend a couple of wonderful days in the loving home of Janet S. and her family. Dory left here knowing that she was loved and wanted, not in a shelter.
