UPDATE 7/9/07 -   Hi everybody, Deuce again. I can't believe it's been a year since I was adopted into this
wonderful home (my Mom spoils me rotten). I had a few eye surgeries, but they are both fine now, just a little scar
on one eye. I love to go on my morning walks, although it's getting a little hot, and I don't feel like finishing the walk I
sit down in the shade. I don't think I was cut out for the humidity. We got a new deck here, so I can check out the
neighbors incognito. In the mornings, I am the last one to come downstairs, so I can "flop" around on Mom's bed
in private. Also, I'm getting along with the other dog here (Piggy), better, he used to scare me a little bit, but then I
realized I had 20 lbs on him. Piggy's a little nuts anyway. Well,I guess that's it, and I just want to thank everyone for
giving me a second chance. BYE-BYE.

UPDATE 2/7/06 -  Hey everyone, Deuce here. Sorry I'm late with my 6 month update, but Mom's computer crashed,
and she needed a new one. Everythings great, but very cold lately, so I've been spending alot of cuddle time on the
couch with the blanket. I had a little problem with my eye that had the ulcer, and I had to have the surgery, (boy I
hated the cone), and now the other eye has the ulcer and I'm having the surgery on Tuesday. At Christmas time I
went to my Nana's house in Jersey, (mom's mom) I had a good time, Nana loved me.  Mom calls me the "running
man" at night when I'm sleeping, because I'm running a marathon in my dream, and then I start woofing and I end
it all with a howl. I also can snore like a buzzsaw. I can't wait for the spring so I can lay out in the sun again. Well I
guess that's it for now. Talk to you in 6 months.

UPDATE 10/3/06 - Hey everyone, Deuce here. I just came in from laying in the sun, and I realized I'm late for my
update. Everything is great, just the other day,I decided I needed to stretch my legs a little bit. You see there is
acres of open grass here I felt I needed to take advantage of it, so when Mom let me out I went for a jog, and then I
see my Mom running after me, so I decided it's  PLAYTIME.I kept running and Mom kept running, HEE HEE, but
then I felt a little guilty so I stopped and I turned around,( I was probably a little tired too). I also knew it was almost
dinnertime and I never want to miss that. That night I was running a marathon in my dreams, and woofing in my
sleep. I love to lay on the bed at night and watch TV, but I have to get off at bedtime, cause I take up alot of room. I
went for a car ride with my new family (all 6 of us) and I loved it.Well gonna go get ready for Halloween, talk to you
next month.

UPDATE 9/2/06 -   Hey everyone, Deuce here. I'm really starting to like it here. In the beginning I was a little shy, but
I am opening up. I'm starting to play with my new brothers and sister, and they have this loveseat ouside that I just
love sit on. I gained a little weight, but that is because I was in everybodys food, but I mellowed out (Mom won't let
me). I get really excited when Mom comes home, she says I'm kidney beaning, whatever that means. It's raining
really bad here from Ernesto, and I'm not really fond of the rain, I go out when I have to. Well till next month, I'm
signing off, the couch is calling.

UPDATE 8/1/06 - Hi, this is Deuce, I'm sorry I'm late. but here is my update. I like my new mom,and I like my new
sister and brothers, although sometimes that Piglet can be pesty, he always wants to play (he's only a year old). I
have quite the appetite too, when the others don't clean their plates I'm more than happy to help out and my mom
is always snatching them up, probably better off. I also discovered a new thing they have here, PIG EARS!!!, these
are great nad they help my teeth too. We go for long walks here, which I also like. I'm starting to open up a little, in
the beginning I was a little shy. I think it was the change in homes, but I'm getting to like this family so I think I'll
hang for a while. More next month.

6/30/06 - Deuce has been adopted! Deuce left with his new Mom about 1 hour ago.  He was my first foster and we
had him since January, so the good-bye was a little hard.   He happily jumped into his Mom's SUV.  Good Luck
Deuce!!

6/6/06 - Hey everyone......it's me....Deuce!!  I just wanted to let everyone know that my eye ulcer has cleared up.  I
want to thank Dr. Bonano for taking good care of me for almost a month.  My Foster Mom was so happy
that I am better.  Things at my foster home are going great.  I am continuing to be a good boy, I am great when left
alone in the house.  I don't chew or destroy anything.   I do all my "business" outside and I get
along great with my foster sisters.  I love to go for car rides and am a good boy waiting if you need to run an errand.
If you are looking for a buddy to hang out with, go for walks with, I'm for you!!

5/5/06 - Just wanted to give everyone a quick update on Deuce. He was back at the vet today for a re-check of his
eye. It was not fully healed and the vet did a "tissue stimulation" type thing to his eye with a q-tip. He was a very
good boy for this procedure. We need to continue him on the anti-biotic ointment for another week and then he
goes back for another re-check. The vet we are using is awesome, however, if Deuce is not better in a week, they
would like to send him to a specialist.  Besides his eye, Deuce is doing great. He loves soaking up the sun and
every so often, he will take a sprint around the yard a few times. We will update after his appointment which is on
5/12.

4/29/06 - I took Deuce to have his stitches removed yesterday (he had a few lumps/growths removed back on April
13).  He did fine from the surgery and is healing nicely.

However, when I took him to the vet, I asked if they could check his eye as he was pawing at it earlier in the day.
After checking, he has an abrasion on his cornea.  :-((  So they sent me home with an antibiotic for him and they
want to see him next week.

3/11/06 - I just wanted to share with everyone Deuce's day out.   He accidentally slipped out the porch door this
morning (I feel like a bad foster mom) and took off.  It only took us about 5 minutes to catch him, but it felt like an
hour.  I was so scared, because our street connects two major roadways.  Luckily, he ran the route I walk him on
and went into the 55+ development.  Some nice man was out walking and he saw me running after Deuce like an
idiot.  Deuce stopped by to say hello to the man and he was kind enough to grab his collar until I caught up.   So
Deuce is home all safe and my legs are killing me from running after him.  There is no way that boy is 8 years old.
He was hauling butt down the street!!

2/27/06 - Hello again....Deuce here!!  Just wanted to update everyone on my vet visit.  I'm both Lyme and
Heartworm negative.  My foster Mom seemed very excited about that.  I also got a few shots, so I am all up to date
on those.  My vet wrote on my shot record slip "GOOD BOY".  Foster Mom was very proud of me.  I'm still having a
little difficulty walking like a gentleman on the leash, but I'm trying.   I enjoy going for my walks in the morning and
sometimes even at night.  I love to hang out on the couch with my foster sisters and I love laying in front of the big
window where the sun comes in.  If you're looking for a friend to take walks with (and have patience to leash train
me), a friend to hang out with, I'm for you.  Won't you please call today and ask for Deuce?  That's all until next
time.....Love, Deuce

2/9/06 - Well Hello everyone....it's me....Deuce!!  Foster Mom said I could type my own update and boy am I excited!!
Things here are going great.  Two great meals a day, fresh water, and a big yard to play in.  I love to go for walks
and get very excited when I know that I'm going.  I just need to learn to behave a little better on my leash.  Foster
Mom keeps saying something about getting me a Gentle Leader.....I wonder what that is?  She said it will help me
walk better.   I have two foster sisters here who are also boxers.  We all get along fine but I prefer to watch them
play rather than join in.   My teeth are not in the best shape, so grabbing onto the toys and tugging like they do, well
it just doesn't feel too good.  I'm going to the vet in two weeks for a check-up and then I'll be ready for my FOREVER
HOME!!  Don't misunderstand me, my Foster Mom and Dad take great care of me, love me, take me for walks,
rides in the car, and my foster sisters share their bed, toys and treats with me, but I'd love a family to call my OWN.
So get those applications in and be sure to ask for Deuce!!

1/29/06 - Deuce is a sweet older boy that was pulled from a local shelter.  He loves to go for walks, but he does not
know what toys are or how to play.  So far he is getting along with the 2 resident female boxers.  He is not fond of
his crate but has not gotten into any trouble when left loose in the house.  He is a pretty smart boy as he has
already figured out where the dog cookies are kept.  Keep checking back for more on Deuce!
My foster
sister, Sasha.
