6/29/06 - Casper and Jester arrived Sunday after being freed from a puppy mill. They are learning
about life and people for the first time. I believe that until now they have spent their whole lives in a cage
so everything is new and a little frightening. Casper is the braver of the two boys and seems to be the
leader but they are both coming out of their shells very quickly. I dropped them off at the vet on
Monday to be neutered and when I picked them up today it was like they were completely different
dogs. When I dropped them off they were covered in long matted fur and smelled in spite of the bath I
had given them, but when I picked them up the vet had groomed them and bathed and perfumed them.
I think for the first time in there lives they look like bichons. They have started playing and Casper likes
to bark at the TV. I don't think he knows what it is. Jester is the quieter of the two. He really likes to
cuddle but after a couple of minutes Casper gets jealous and pushes his way in. Casper and Jester can
be adopted separately or together. They have loved all the other dogs that they have meet here, but
they also enjoy the one on one attention they get. These guys are both wonderful little dogs who need
families willing to take the time to show them what the world outside of a cage is all about.
