10/14 /06 - My Foster Mom wanted me to write a short note to you all about myself. Well, first you
know that I am a big guy by looking at my weight, but I am not over weight. In fact, I go to my Foster
Mom's weight watcher meetings and they turned me down. I am just solid. I also am the most gentle
boy you will ever meet. I am not a jumper, but to be honest I sometimes drool a little if you make me
wait to long for a cookie. I love riding in the car, give me a soft bed and I love to sleep. I love to go
on walks and will never pull you, in fact, sometimes I need a little encouraging to walk a little faster. I
tend to lolly along and smell the smells. I have never had an accident in the house. I love sleeping in
the same room with you, and if you let me I might hog the bed a little, but can stay on my bed if you tell
me. Oh, one other thing, I snore but only some times....please don't hold that against me. I will not be
any trouble to you. I am very low key kind of dog. If you want a jumpy run around dog then that is not
me. I do play a little, but mostly, just a boy that will give you years of love and companionship. If you
do not want a needy dog that has to run and play all the time then you will love having me in your life. If
I have not answered all your concerns, you can call my Foster Mom she really knows me and can
answer any questions you might want to ask. Please ask otherwise you might not think that I am the
one for you... PS I also bring you a toy when you come home. What more could you want.?? Hey,
thanks for listening and I will be waiting for your call. Always Brutus
10/13/06 - We have decided that Brutus & Juliette will be fine to go to separate homes, so if you are
interested in only one of them, please let us know as they are more than ready to go to their new homes!
10/7/06 - Saturdays is my day for errands and Brutus loves to go > in the car. He rides very nicely, He
does like to sit in the front sit with his right leg resting on the door rest. It is so funny. We took our first
visit to Petco today and he was great. Could care less about the other dogs, but loved to pick out
treats. He picked out a red kong and right now we are home and he is enjoying it immensely. This boy
is such a pleasure. He is the most low maintance foster I have ever had. He took his favorite stuff toy in
the car today and you should have seen the looks I got with this big boy and his mouth full of a blue
stuff bone. If you are looking for boy that will wait patiently for you to come home, you can take
anywhere you go, will sleep as long as you sleep and is not needy in any way then this is the boy for
you. He is waiting for you to come get him. Please conside this boy, you will not be sorry....
9/24/06 - It has been three days since Brutus had his surgery and you would not even now it. He came
through with flying colors. I was a little concerned that he might be mad at me for taking his manhood
away, but still just a sweet boy. His guy does not have a one bad habit. Well, he drools, just a little if
you wait to long to give him a treat. He starts to blow bubbles out the side of his mouth. That and he
can be a little stubborn is about it. Walking with Brutus is a real pleasure especially if you like slow
walks. If you have any concerns or questions about this boy please give me a call. Brutus is waiting for
your call.
9/21/06 - Just wanted to let you know that Brutus came through his surgery with flying colors. I was
told to keep him warm and quiet so he is sleeping on my feet and I have a blanket over him. He is
snoring up a storm. Seeing that he is a big boy and I just had his manhood taken away I am hoping that
he wakes up really really hungry in the morning and not really mad at me. Everyone fell in love with him
at the vets. He was a perfect gentleman.
9/15/06 - Brutus had a very nice week and continues to have impeciable manners. Brutus is a man's
man. He loves men and gets the most excited when one comes to the house or we meet one on our
walks. They seem to get is tail really wagging. Next Thursday he goes to be neutered. Then he will be
ready for his forever home!
9/10/06 - It has now been a week since received Brutus and Juliette into my home and heart. What a
great pair they are. I was very surprise on just how easy having two dogs is. I thought it would be the
opposite. They keep each other company and have a built in playmate. I am sure if they had a wish
list the number one on their list would be that someone would adopt them both. They so love each
other that it would be very hard to separate them. Please consider them both.
9/10/06 - Our first week flew by. I've had so much fun with Brutus. He is the sweetest most gentle
boy I have had in this house. You might think having a 100 lb. dog romping through your house would
be scary but let me assure you that you will not even notice him. He is not rough at all no jumping,
running, or counter surfing. He is a little stubborn. So if you want him to come and he doesn't you
might have to keep calling him or just go get him. Walking this boy is also wonderful. He is not a puller
nor a runner. He greets people very gently and has no interest in other dogs along the walk. Again his
worst trait is if he wants to smell and you want to continue to walk you might have to give a hard tug on
the leash to get him moving again. He likes to do his business under bushes so nothing is in plain sight..
He for some reason does not like his face patted, but he loves his ears rubbed! He is not a big kisser.
So far I have only gotten about two kisses from him but he loves to lay next to you. When you come
home Brutus loves to go get a toy to bring to you. It is his way of greeting you. Brutus's car manners
are very good. Yesterday we did some errands. I made several stops to see how he would be and he
basicly just sits and rest his head on the back of the seat. The second to last stop I pick up some
groceries which I put on the floor in front. When I came out from the last stop Brutus was in the front
seat with his head in the bag trying to get to his dog biscuits that I had pick up. Lucky for me I was
only gone a few minutes. So I guess he was a little bad, but I should not of tempted him. LOL
9/2/06 - I'm not sure you can tell from the pictures but this is a big boy who is so darn cute you just
have to keep looking at him! My best description would be a gentle giant. He walks so softly. He has
only been here a few hours and already he has picked up one toy and started playing with it. You
would think he would be very rough but it is just to opposite. He shakes his head a little and then lays
down with it. He has one of those sad faces that just melts your heart when he looks at you. Right now
he is somewhat confused and not sure if he is just here for a vacation or what but is doing extremely
well. He did eat -- not a whole lot but did get something down. I was told that when he is stressed he
starts to lose his hair and he might get a little stressed because he needs to go to the vets and get
neutered. Once that is done he will be ready to go to his forever home. I will try and get him through
this with as little stress as possible. Oh, yea I think he thinks he has pig in his bloodline because he
snorts sometimes like a pig. It is really funny! So as I get to know this boy I will keep you posted.
9/2/06 - Brutus and Juliette arrived today and are trying to settle in. These two although are not blood
related grew up together in the same household since birth. Their owner is very distraught that he
needed to surrender them, but because he is relocating to the City he is having problems finding
housing/Apts. for the family and two dogs. This is the first foster where I actually knew them before
they came into rescue. So I am somewhat familiar with them. They do not need to be crated, but are
crate trained, they get along with other dogs and cats and are great with children. What a great start.
