7/27/06 - It is with a very heavy heart that I let you know Brindle was sent to the Rainbow Bridge. I am truly devastated that it came to this but her unpredictable and severe dog aggression would not have made her adoptable and this presented a danger to other dogs as well as possibly to people.  A fight at her foster home resulted in a 911 call and Animal Control having to come get Brindle. We could not safely or with good conscious place Brindle in any home, even without other dogs. It was very hard to do this as she was so sweet with people. I will miss her very much even though she was only at my house for a very short time.

This was only my 3rd foster, and in less than a week I truly did come to love Brindle.  I was obviously very upset with the entire situation BUT I would like to say that this is NOT the norm.  It is very rare in rescue to get a dog like this, compared to all the great dogs that come thru, this is only but a tiny percentage of this kind of behavior.  Poor breeding, irresponsible owners...........situations like this are not what we in rescue usually deal with.  Brindle was a case of severe dog aggression and was dangerous and therefor did need to be PTS.  I've been in rescue for over 2 years now and the hundreds and hundreds of great dogs I have seen come thru.........that is what rescue is all about.  HELPING and having adopted the dogs who are ok and capable of living a normal life.   That could never be for Brindle...............God speed Brindle, i really did love you and i will look for you at the bridge.

7/1/06 -
Picked Brindle up half way thru a transport that was coming up the NJ Parkway on Saturday, she is an owner surrender.  Brindle is a large girl, very muscular and fit and tall.  Her snout is longer than I've usually seen but it just adds to her beauty.  Oh did i mention how pretty she is?  I'll be posting pictures soon.  She is really a very good looking boxer girl!  I call her my Brindly Brindly girl........lol i give all my fosters nicknames!  Let's see, she is crate trained (although she will let out a whine or a cry to make sure you know she is in there), she is completely house broken and will come either bark in your face or whine to let you know in case you weren't sure if she had to go out or not!  She gets along WONDERFULLY with my other foster Sambuca.  She does NOT however, like either one of my boxer boys.  So we have been keeping the pairs separated.  Brindle likes to be outside and run in the yard.  I noticed she started jawing and play boxing and rough housing with Sambuca.  So she must be settling in and feeling more comfortable.  She is a good eater and a good sleeper.  She is very sweet and gentle with my daughters.  She does not seem to counter surf, garbage pick, or dig.  ALL PLUSES IN MY BOOK!!!!!!  She normally doesn't jump unless she is really excited then it is just once and i say off or down or no and she stops.  She will bark if the others do or she hears a noise, she will also bark in case you seem to forget that she is outside and wants to come in.  LOL Funny, she kicks the door like my Cowboy, which i just find hilarious, it is like she is knocking (and in my head, i'm like...."i hear you knocking but you can't come in!")  lol  This girl is extremely sweet. My suggetion is that she probably go to a house with no other dogs unless they are extremely submissive (or Sambuca lol). She definitely needs/wants to be top dog.  Make that phone call, this girl is so awesome........I"m telling you she won't last the week.  :)
