UPDATE 10/6/06 - Bo continues to grow inot a special part of our family. He and Jade do everything together and
he was visibly upset when Jade had to go to the vet for her annual check-up... His limp has improved greatly as
we give him RX glucosomine and chondroitin chews...
Everyone he comes in contact with loves him and comments on how regal he looks. He behaves the same way
and I am happy to rerport we are spoiling him rotten!
UPDATE 8/5/06 - Bo is doing wonderfully after a month with us. He and Jade play together, sleep together and
patrol the yard together. He is a fun, affectionate guy that we are so pleased with. Bo and Jade share toys, bones,
etc. and there is not any problems when one of them decides that the other is done with that particular toy and then
grabs it.. We are so happy to have him!!
UPDATE 7/9/06 - Bo has come home and found a waiting buddy in Jade, who we adopted in 10/05. He is doing
wonderfully and has settled in very, very quickly into a member of our family. Bo and Jade love to parade around
the yard together, hang out with each other and play together. He went to the vet yesterday and was given a very
clean bill of health save for his arthritic right, rear leg which they have provided some supplements for. He's
wonderful and we are so very glad that we have him...
7/2/06 - Bo has been adopted!
6/28/06 Bo was adopted to an much older lady for a couple of weeks, and though he is gentle and sweet he was
panic-y when she left him even for a short time, unmade all the beds and pretty much destroyed a few
houseplants! Bo does well left in a large crate, but the lady was not physically able to crate him every time she
went out the door, so with many tears, she decided he would do better somewhere else. She really, really liked
him other than the anxiety, and felt very bad. Other than not feeling secure on his own, Bo is a wonderful
companion. We did learn that he is fine with cats, and he put on several pounds while he was there, so he looks
great!! He settled right back into my routine with no problems.
Here are some pointers that I think will help Bo's forever home: Bo likes to know his people can take care of
themselves, and of him. self assured and self confident people make him feel safe. He needs a very large wire
crate to be set up all the time so he can pop into it whenever he must be left alone. He likes our fenced yard, it
makes him feel secure, though I highly doubt that he would go far away if he was not fenced! Other than the need
to feel safe and not left alone very much, Bo is just the ideal companion, sweet, gentle and affectionate!
6/1/06 - Mr. Bo tagged along with little Rose and her new Mom on their way back to Maine from New York. Thanks
Dot! This handsome and stately boy is just fabulous. What a classic guy! He came to me as he needed to have
one of his knees checked out, which we did yesterday. It turned out to be a very old knee cap injury resulting in
some arthritis. All we have to do is manage it with regular rest and some pain relievers, and try to keep him from
getting a bit too rambunctious. He is very thin, but is eating and pooping well and should gain just fine.
So far everything has gone wonderfully with the handsome boy! He did accidentally take a quick dip in the pool,
but has steered clear of it since, lol. More to come, and pics!
