UPDATE 10/13/08 - Adopting Blizzard has been one of the greatest things my (now) husband and I
have ever done.  We could not imagine our lives without him. It breaks our heart to think someone
abused our little guy, but we are so thankful to second chance for rescuing him.
Its been almost 2 years since we brought him home and he is just amazing. Boxers are truly the best
dogs, no other breed shows so much love and affection, and is so animated.  Blizzard is doing great!
He is a pretty happy guy who loves to run in his yard and look out the window for squirels and rabbits.
We can't wait for the time to be right to add a brother or sister, thanks Second Chance Boxer!

UPDATE 5/8/07 -  Blizzard is having tons of fun enjoying the warmer weather in his brand new large
fenced in yard!  We are outdoors much more now and he is so happy to be outside with us!  We go
runs in the park and take trips over to the beach so Blizzard can get tons of exercise because he sure
loves to run!!
We had a period where he was experiencing some seperation anxiety and our vet recommended a
behaviorist.  We got some tips and have been working hard with our boy.  Its almost been a month
now and he has been doing much better!
Blizzard has put on a few pounds since we rescued him in November and only has about 5 more to go
till he is at his ideal weight.
He loves to cuddle with us and is so friendly with other dogs.  We love him and are so happy.

UPDATE 2/21/07 - Blizzard is truly a joy and we could not be happier to have him!  He has an
amazing personality and is so loving.
He has tons of new doggie friends and "cusins" !  We try to soclialize him as much as possible with our
friends and families dogs.  When we visit my parent's house (they have 2 labs) he knows where we are
going when we are still a few blocks away!
Blizzard's has seen snow for the first time recently and he loves to play in it!  His new favorite place to
run and play is the beach. We can't wait for the summer so we can take him often.
We love him so much we are thinking of adopting again or getting another dog for him to play with.  We
will see... only time will tell.

UPDATE 12/18/06 - WE LOVE BLIZZARD!!!!  Blizzard has been such an amazing addition to our
lives.  He is so loving and tons of fun!  We are so pleased to have been able to provide him loving
forever home.
Blizzard loves to go running with me and he also sprints around the backyard after his ball. After a hard
day of play he loves to snuggle with mommy & daddy on the couch too!
Blizzard already has tons of friends!  His girlfriend Reece who is a fellow boxer and my parents two
labs.  He has a great time playing and going for walks with his pals!
Blizzard has also had his first visit with our vet who send he is a great dog and in good health
considering what he has been through.  We have been told to watch his diet and not give him any table
scraps!
Thank you Second Chance Boxer for such an amazing dog!

11/19/06 - Blizzard has been adopted!

11/7/06 - Blizzard has been having a great time, playing with his foster sister and enjoying the fall
weather. He is just the sweetest little boy....friendly, happy and very enthusiastic about everything.

Blizzy has had some accidents but he is working on that and with a little more confidence and maturity, I
am sure he will master this.  There isn't an aggressive bone in this boy's body, he just loves everyone.
He is still a little hesitant with new men, but that is improving daily and once he realizes that the new
person isn't going to hurt him, he's ready to play.

He also does the most adorable thing, when his water bowl is empty and he wants more, he will click
his nails in it until I fill it.  LOL  He is just a really sweet boy, loves his toys, loves other dogs...........with
the cold weather coming, wouldn't you want Blizzy to snuggle up with?

10/10/06 - It's a Blizzard!!
Liz picked up this sweet little boy from a south Jersey shelter and delivered him to me yesterday. He is
an owner surrender to the shelter as the boyfriend was not treating him well. He is about a year old and
just the sweetest little guy! He's a bit hand-shy, but has already begun to warm up and feel more
comfortable with me and with my crew. He has met them all through the crate and the gates, and is full
of wiggles and kisses for everyone. Olivia is, once again, thrilled to have a guest who wants to play with
her-she is definitely the official welcomer and evaluator of all foster dogs who come here-she thinks
they are new toys!  Blizz ate his supper, finally, last night and his breakfast this morning, after sleeping all
night in his crate and not making a single peep. He appears to be completely house-trained and waited
very patiently for his foster mom to grab a cup of coffee and put on her shoes and then walked nicely
on the leash and did what he had to very promptly-he sniffed the air and wiggled at the HUGE
dalmation that passed us and then was ready to come back in. Blizzard is neutered and UTD on
everything-except for needing a rabies sometime this month so he is just about ready to go to his
forever home.

Here is a picture of him with Olivia-he hasn't cooperated for a full face shot as of yet, but we will work
on getting some more shots of him today.
