UPDATE 12/6/06 - My goodness how time passes. It is hard to believe that we have had Autumn for
2 months. She is doing wonderful! There were some concerns the first month, (thank you Gina for your
ear and calming me) she would potty in the house after being walked outside. It got worse before it got
better and now a non-issue. We do have a little issue with biting, but we are trying to work on them and
determine why they occurred. Other than that she is the perfect little girl. She loves to traps after my
male boxer. Look for the children to play and just lie across. My male boxer and she are like an old
husband and wife. Cuddling, then having a snit, then they play and get cuddling again. Thank goodness
my male is so submissive, she is definitely the boss. She sleeps with my daughter, my poor son, my male
wants to sleep no where but in my room, I have to work on that. Autumn is very happy and healthy.
She has put on a few well needed pounds. She still has trouble sitting and quit often while sitting leans a
little too far and tumbles over on her side, it is hysterical. She loves to go in and out of the house and go
on long walks. She has a lot of fun with the cat(I think the cat likes her the best). I think she will truly
enjoy this years holiday, home with our family in her own house with her own family. We love her
soooo much.

UPDATE 10/21/06 -  Well is has been 2 weeks Autumn is with us now and she is just doing
wonderful! Her spay went well stitches all healed as well as her eyes. They look perfect, one would
never know she had them done. She gets along great with my male Boxer Dempsey, it's as if they have
been old mates forever. The children love her, since Dempsey sleeps in our room, they have been
taking turns having Autumn sleep in their bed's. Some minor issues with housebreaking but that is
passing. Autumn had kennel cough and was kind enough to share with Dempsey but both saw the Vet
and they are medicated and working through it. As for the ugly little whipworms, I am awaiting the
results of the stool sample for her to see if they are gone but the Vet did give me another dose of
treatment for her. She is the funniest tiniest little girl. She enjoys play, play , play. but when she starts to
settle, she places with our cat that is on the other side of the door for about an hour. It is hysterical. Cat
swipes paw under door Autumn tries to lick it, then Autumn tries to do the same with the cat. Both
seem to enjoy it. Dempsey just looks and wonders"What are you doing?" Autumn is definately making
herself at home. She curls up on our laps and cuddles, she loves being loved! Well I will keep you
posted.

10/7/06 - Autumn has been adopted!

9/28/06 - Just wanted to let everyone know how little Autumn is doing.  She is a little character!  When
she puts those little gremlin ears back, or she runs and they go back and flap in the breeze, I just want
to pick her up and squeeze her!  She has so much personality for a puppy. And she does all the puppy
things I haven't experienced in awhile!  She tries to bite my ankles as I'm walking which is comical, but
she's got those sharp little puppy teeth so it hurts!  She also will pick an item up, that is totally not hers
and run with it.  She basically gives it up but doesn't know the commands yet, so from the other room I
hear my 5 year old saying "Autumn, leave it", then "Autumn, drop it!", then "Autumn, give me that", to
finally, "MOMMY!!!!!!!!!!  Autumn won't give me back my shoe!!!!!!!!!!"  It is a lot of fun to have a
puppy, they are just so sweet.  And Autumn is a smart little cookie. She learned sit already.  She does it
best when I hold up a treat.  She knows which doors are where she needs to go to go out.  She
understands and responds to the kennel command.  Autumn has made it thru the night 6 nights in a row
with no accidents in her kennel.  So last night and the night before I let her sleep upstairs and she curled
up at the bottom of my girls bed and slept straight thru without so much as getting up once!  As a matter
of fact, each morning @ 7am, when I get up, I went in and picked her up and carried her out to the
deck so she wouldn't be tempted to do her business along the way since it is such a looooonnnnnggg
way to the door. LOL  Autumn really likes to play with Cosmo.  She bites his ears, his legs, I even saw
her trying to bite his tail as the little nubby was wagging back and forth!  She plays a bit rough and
Cosmo totally out weights her, but she keeps coming back for more.  I will say this, they knocked my
plant stand over not once but twice this week!  So they both need to take it down a notch!!!!!!!!
Thank goodness I was being lazy and never picked the dirt up from Tuesday as Wednesday morning
they knocked it over again!   Let's see, what else can I share about this little baby doll...........I took her
to my niece's soccer game last night and she wanted to greet everyone that walked by.  Her only faults
are that she's a baby and of course her manners are not what they should be. She will jump up on you,
pull on the leash, those sort of things.  But this little turnip will do extremely well in obedience class, so I
wouldn't worry about that puppy behavior.  More to come soon on this little one.  :)

9/21/06 - Please welcome our newest foster Autumn, she was a stray to one of our favorite shelters.
She is a character, I can tell that already.  Thank you to Stevan who sprung her from the Newark
Shelter and brought he to me Friday night.  After spending the weekend with this little turnip, I can tell
she will make a great addition to any home.  She likes kids, she likes other dogs, she willingly goes into
her crate, sleeps thru the night without a peep, and is 99% housebroken.  If you don't get her out the
door quick enough in the morning, she will make her pit stop along the way!  She is very sweet and
wants to play and be with you.  She doesn't appear to be handshy or nervous or skiddish.  I think will
do very well in obedience class, she watches you and looks to see what you want her to do, or if it is
ok with you.  She doesn't know any basic commands yet and I don't think she knows her name but
when I call her she does respond to the sound of my voice.  My daughters have taken to calling her the
girlie or the girl........even though they decided to name her autumn.......it is funny.  Autumn doesn't seem
to like any of the regular toys but likes a little stuffed doll that I let her have.  And like a typical boxer,
she flips it up in the air and throws it and chases after it!  She is so adorable, she does like to bark and
will bark in Cowboy's and Cosmo's face, my two however, just sit there and look at her.  She wants to
play and until she annoys them enough they don't really engage in any play (typical of Cowboy, but not
sure why Cosmo is being a bit stand offish).  Could be her size, she is the most petite, tiny little girl I've
ever seen!  She makes Cowboy look like a big hulking beast!!!!!!!!!!!  Which, ha ha, as you all know,
Cowboy is lucky on a good day, soaking wet, to be 42 pounds!!!!!!!!!!!!  Stay tuned for more on this
little turnip. :)
