| 1/20/07 - It is with a very sad heart that I say Alice has gone to the bridge. What a sweet dog she was, it was probably one of the hardest things Adam and I have ever done. She had neurological, spinal and hip problems, so she went to the bathroom everywhere, even in her crate and then she would lay in it. It was really no way for a dog to live. I cried the entire way to vets and held her till she went to sleep, I was bawling and she was just kissing my face, I like to think it was her telling me that I made the right decision. The vet thought it would be best for her but it certainly didn't make me feel any better, I am crying while writing this and its been a week. Rest In Peace my sweet girl... 12/11/06 - I took Alice to the vet and its not just her hips that are the problem. She also has spinal and neurological problems. So he feels that fixing her hips isn't worth it. He says she is not in a any pain and I don't believe she is either, she never yelps or whines or shows any other signs of pain. Don't think for one minute that this slows her down. She runs like the wind. She is a really sweet girl who needs some one patient and willing to work with her on any thing she should need. She is very calm in the house but get her outsid and she runs circles around the other dogs.Alice is waiting for her forever home....could that be you??? 10/16/06 - Alice went to the vets last week and we did not get very good news. She needs two new hips. So far she is not in pain but he hips totally give out on her. Atleast 70 percent of the ball should be in the joint. Alice has less than 15 percent. So what she needs is a long term foster home that can work with her after surgery. I believe but am not sure that the vet will do one at a time. I hope to get her in to the specialist next week. Alice is great with dogs, cats and kids. A real easy keeper loves everyone, quite small and very well behaved. Loves to ride and just give kisses. 9/19/06 - Alice is a GREAT dog. She is so good with everryone and everything. Alice now is loose with my 4 dogs and everyone gets along great. It is said that she is also good with cats. Alice is cratetrained and housebroken. She walks well on the leash and loves to play. So family is going to be super lucky to get this girl to join their family. 9/13/06 - Alice is in need of a home in wonderland. This super sweet girl has had a rough year already. She was orginally a stray to a large shelter. She was adopted out and returned 3 times. They then decided to call us and let us find her the right home the first time. Alice has a back injury, not sure from truma or a birth defect. She sways when she walks and almost looks like she has had a little to much to drink. Don't get me wrong this girl can run, bounce and play with the best of them. She does stairs fine and nothing slows her down. She is a little slow to housebreak though. Dr. Matt was confident with changing her feeding schedule and a little work we could get that done. This girl is super sweet and super cute. She needs a home with patience to work on her housebreaking and a big heart to give this special girl a place for the rest of her life. (Her injury is not progressive so should not get worse) She loves to go for rides, play and enjoys kids. She has never met a dog she doesn't like. Alice is just waiting for a Wonderland to call her own. |
