UPDATE 4/2/06 - HI ALL - TWIGGY GIRL HERE!  SORRY IT HAS BEEN SO LONG SINCE
WE LAST SPOKE - BOY TIME SURE DOES FLY. I AM DOING JUST GREAT SO DON'T BE
WORRYING ABOUT ME.  I'M JUST LEARNING HOW TO "SNUGGLE" AND I LOVE IT.  I
GET TO GO ON THE BIG BED RIGHT IN-BE-TWEEN MY MOM & DADDY WHILE THE
MICK GET THE SMALLER BED ON THE FLOOR...HEHE!  IT'S NOT SO BAD, IT IS RIGHT
NEXT TO THE BIG BED! WELL, GOTTA RUN BUT I FIGURED I BETTER CHECK-IN WHILE
I REMEMBER.  TALK TO YOU SOON! OH, AND YES, I AM STILL VERY PRETTY.

UPDATE 1/5/06 - HAPPY NEW YEAR!  The Mick & I had a great holiday and we hope every one
did as well.
I am doing great.  Over the holidays I got to meet alot of relatives I didn't even know I had...and I love
them all. And it was very exciting with all the new toys and bones.  I have two favorits, the chicken leg
and the hot dog.  They are both really big and squeak really loud.  I already silenced the hot dog.  The
first night, I tried to take the chicken bone on my walk but Dad wouldn't let me. So I left it in the living
room but - I just couldn't bear leaving it behind so I cut my walk short and dragged Dad back home.
As soon as he opened the door I dodged for the chicken leg. After-all, we can't let The Mick play with
it.  It's mine!
Well I gotta go now, Mom needs the computer.
Till next time - Twiggy signing out.  Be happy (like me.)

UPDATE 12/5/05 - Hi Everybody!  Twiggy here, reporting in to let you all know how great I am doing.
I just love my new home.  Remember I said I would have a picture to send to you of
me and the Mick?  Well, Dad got a great shot of us in the back of the vehicle as we
were getting ready one Saturday morning - on our way to the woods in the back of
the local state university.  Mom didn't find a way to attach it to this update be she
did email it separately to 'echowitch9@aol.com' - maybe whoever is on the other end
can get it where eveybody can see it.
Did you know there is a special way to walk through leaves?  Yup, as you walk through
you have to pick up each leg up so it is higher than the leaves. And you have to go real
slow too!  Mom & Dad laugh at me and I don't know why?
Oh boy!  We had our first snow this past weekend and the Mick & I had fun running
around and playing in it.  It was only about 2 inches but still enough for us to have
fun!  It was such a surprise too!  Mom opened the side door and there it was!  I like to
hide in the snow because I am really hard to find.  In case you don't know why; it
is because the snow is the same color as me!  How cool is that!
Well I gotta go now.  Talk to you soon!
p.s. I am still very pretty...and such a good girl too!

UPDATE 10/9/05 - Hi Everyone!  Twiggy Girl here to let you know that I really love my new home...
and eveyone in it :)  I just got up from a nap and am ready to go, go, go!  I like to play all the time. The
Mick and I play out in the yard and even though he is smaller than me we get a good work-out.  I taught
him how to spin around in one spot like me and he went so fast I got dizzy watching him! I think he did
too!  I, of course, still attract the attention of everyone on the block because I am so pretty.  And I
know I'm pretty because my daddy tells me I am all the time!  You've seem my pictures haven't you?
Mom said maybe next time we can send a picture of me with the Mick.Well I completed my training and
boy was it interesting.  I got to eat alot of treats...which I love and I met a puppy boxer, a puppy pit bull
and - hey come to think of it, I was the oldest in the class!  Not that I am old mind you; just more
experienced!
Uh oh - I think I hear mom making my dinner...gotta go now folks but I'll be back!

UPDATE 9/2/05 - Well Twiggy is doing just great!  She is such a 'girly-girl' -- our girly-girl!
Such a pretty girl too!  Twiggy looks forward to her daily walk to the school yard and knowns when
it is time to get going because she will start 'pushing' us as the time to go nears.  On hot days
stops at sprinklers to cool off (even though we bring water with us.)  It is funny to watch her try
and catch the water.  Every Saturday we all drive to the state university that is not far away and
walk through the wooded area where the neighboring stable rides their horses.  Something Twiggy is
very familiar with.
Twiggy is also doing very well in her training classes and is quite smart.  She loves 'the Mick' (our
male boxer) and want to play all the time!
Twiggy is a funny girl - she has a 'thing' for 'wheels' - anything with 'wheels'
and anything that 'rolls' (like the lawn mower or vacuum.)  Once she sees it roll she starts
barking at it will not stop.  When she finally does stop, she stares at it so we will move it ever
so slightly and she starts barking again!
Twiggy also does 'donuts' around the yard and then stop and spins herself around in one spot! Very
funny
to watch.  Oh, and she chews her bones on our bed!  Lucky girl!
One more thing...Twiggy and her family would like to thank eveyone who helped her out in her time
of need - especially her foster mom Diana because without them she wouldn't be with us now.
Till next month...chow for now!

6/11/05 - Twiggy has been adopted!

3/10/05 Hi there! Twiggy here! Hey, what’s the deal?? I am a great dog, mom writes good stuff
about me, and here I sit. What, you don’t like white?? White is cool, I can hide in the snow and all
you see is my eyes, nose and ear spots…..If I close my eyes, you can’t see me, cause I can’t
see you!! You don’t like energetic??? I will keep you slim and trim and full of vim, just like me!!
You don’t like snuggly??? I will keep you warm at night and you will never, ever come home and
think nobody missed you, nobody cares about you or that you will be alone for the night. I will be right
there snuggled up super close and you can tell me all about your bad day, your problems, your concerns
and your needs and all you’ll get from me is attention, no back talk, no “mine are worse
stories; nothing but love, that’s me. Because as long as I have you coming home to me, feeding me,
walking me and talking to me, I will have no problems….none. So, come on, get off the couch and call
to say “yup, I want me an energetic, loving, white boxer girl, with sass!!

2/28/05 Well, every dog has to have it’s day!! We went out for a bit and when we came back…..
all the Dunkin Donut muffins had been eaten (some unnamed 17 yr old left the box on the table) so we
will be doing the “muffin wrapper watch for all three dogs for the next few days…..oh the joy of
dog ownership never ends!!

2/22/05 Twiggy’s spay was a complete success, and the timing was great! She was just starting to
come into heat and we would have had to wait 2 weeks!! She bounced right back from the surgery and
is her sweet energetic self again. While she was under the vet could examine her teeth well and feels she
is between 2 and 3 yrs old and that she had had at least 2 litters of pups. She is quite the clown and will
play with anything. It is a little unnerving when she plays with a bone like it was a squeaky toy and tosses
it into the air and waits for it to land and bounce. A, it doesn’t bounce, and B. it is VERY loud!! She
is a toy harder and takes every toy JR or Toby touch and piles them up and lays on top of them!! LOL

2/14/05 Twiggy would like to wish everyone a Happy Valentines Day!! She finally has gained enough
weight to be spayed today. She is 70.4 lbs and still needs about 5-6 more lbs to look like a slim boxer.
She has been doing so much better with her house training, only goes in her crate if she’s left alone.
Funny thing is if she has to go and we aren’t getting her cue (or she forgets she needs to give one)
she will go into her crate to go. I get the distinct impression that she spent a good part of her life crated
and was left for long periods of time, forcing her to use it as her toilet as well. We are working on it
though. She is quite smart and I’m sure it will sink in. She is doing sooooooo much better with the
boys, that I don’t crate her very often any more and that has helped her a lot. Still doesn’t get
the play thing though, and growls so much the Boys walk away rather then “get involved.

1/30/05 Well Twiggy had a little setback, we went to the vet’s for her “weigh in and she had
lost 2 lbs, seems she still had some of those nasty old worms left, so we are worming her again. Vet
thought she might also be having trouble gaining due to the “super cold weather we’ve been
having .

1/12/05 Twiggy went to the vets today for a check up and “weigh in, she has gained 7pounds!!
She also got a clean bill of health regarding her booboos, and infections. We need to wait a week more
for an “all clear fecal and the vet thinks that if she gains 6-7 more pounds she can be spayed! He
was very pleased with her progress so far (so am I) She is now a part of the crew. she is letting me take
things out of her mouth, and  lays quietly on her bed while we eat (used to try and take the plate off the
table and was crated) She is even sharing the water bowl with Toby!! Man, when she decided to do a â
€œturn aroundâ€ she SPUN!!!!!!

1/10/05 Twiggy is finally out in the “herd!! We still don’t trust her completely and have
changed the 2 foot leads for 6 foot ones for a few days. She is very domineering with the boys and I
don’t want any blood shed. She is playing more, and apparently knows some commands that, until
this point, she was just ignoring. She does pull on lead and we are working on it. At this point she is
settling in at about the rate an owner surrender would be at two days. I am now able to leave her gated
in one room and the boys in another and go out for short intervals with no worries. Stay tuned to the
Twiggy adventures.

1/07/05 Twiggy is finally getting the idea that the “boys don’t want her stuff or food, they
have there own. Although she is convinced they get much more than she does as, because they are still
eating long after she is done. Obviously she doesn’t realize that she sucks her dinner down so fast itâ
€™s a wonder we don’t hear the sound barrier being broken!!! She is now able to be out with us,
and the boys when we are all sitting quietly watching TV. She still “watches JR very carefully,
but Toby she basically ignores. This improvement in attitude is partially because “mom will not
tolerate that snarling stuff, and lets everyone know it!!

1/04/05 In the continuing saga of Twiggy, crates, and “mom going out, I came back and Toby
had dragged JR’s crate over 20 feet so they could once again be close enough for all three to turn in
to “boxy Cojos, and of course a bloody tail/mess!! So, I tied Toby to my 2 piece sofa instead.
Well, he dragged the sofa!! Only 3 feet, but still it was enough for another “blood bath for
Twiggy!!!! I finally come up with the solution that worked, al least today it worked. I covered Twiggyâ
€™s crate with a blanket! She apparently does not get as worked up over being “desertedâ€ with
those two “annoying boys if she cannot see them, and they don’t growl or antagonize her
(yes I knew from the start that this was a two way street) if she doesn’t “start. AND no tail
blood, at least until she saw me and started banging it against the cage in happiness!!! God, I love these
dogs, don’t you……ya gotta laugh, cause crying takes to much energy!!!

12/30/04 Well Miss Twiggy is slowly starting to look like a boxer, and I will be sending photos to prove
it very soon. I do apologies for the lack of photos so far but my camera has been given last rites and I
have to wait for a friend of mine to have a “moment to come take some for me. Twiggy and the
boys tolerate each other from across the gate or if she is crated and they walk up to her, IF “momâ
€ is home. I went out the other day and had JR crated and Toby tied to the crate and came home to a
drool infested pile of magazines that had all the covers shredded off and Twiggles with a bloody tail, and
of course my walls, floor and furniture in the vicinity of her crate were spotted with blood too! I realized
while cleaning her up (blood really shows on a white dog), that the very tip of her tail is missing!!! Where
it should be is a scab which, apparently when she gets worked up and beats against the crate, opens and
bleeds. I have moved JR’s crate to the other side of the room. We shall see. BTW Happy New
Year from The In & Out INN!!

12/25/04 Well Twiggy is doing much better, her infections have cleared up and she has put on some
weight. She has some energy now and is starting to bounce around a bit. She is still not over her â
€œneedâ€ to protect her food, toys, crate, etc. so she is not yet in the “population“. She is
therefore spending more time crated, so I put up my biggest crate for her (great Dane size) so she has
more room. She is still having accidents, mostly in her crate, if not let out every 2 hours. I think this is
because she still feels the need to “empty the water bowl every time she gets near it. Hopefully
with more time, she will lose her “street dog fears and settle in. Can’t blame a girl for
wondering if she is going to get another meal (she gets 4 a day) any time soon, when you’ve had to
fight for every bite for nobody knows how long, right??

12/21/04 Twiggy has been to my vets and as expected is full of worms, has an infection in several of her
wounds and is at least 15 pounds underweight. She is dehydrated and very flea ridden. The good news
is she is neg. for heartworm and the vet found nothing that a flea dip, some antibiotics and a ton of food
would not cure. She is staying over night for rehydration, to have her “booboos shaved and
treated and a flea dip. I will bring her home tomorrow and start the process of fattening her up and
healing her wounds. She must gain at least 10lbs before she can be spayed. Keep this poor little (little
girl?- when she is well she will weigh over 85lbs. in your thoughts and prayers.

12/20/04 I was called by one of our local shelters regarding a stray. I went to see her and was appalled.
She was emaciated and filthy, covered in sores and flea dirt and obviously recently separated from
puppies (5 wks or so). Despite all this, she was thrilled to see me, kissing me thru the bars and dancing
as best she could (she is so thin that she cannot balance very well). Starving for any attention she could
get. I called the “powers that be and since my current foster left the day before, arranged to pick
her up and take her home after her shots and heartworm test. I named her “Twiggy for her long
legs and lean (?) look! I am taking her to the vets ASAP and will fill you in on her more tomorrow.
