UPDATE 5/17/05 - Petunia is doing great! She is so in love with our almost 2 year-old son, it's
ridiculous! She lets him jump all over her and gives him kisses. Very sweet-- she gives him a kiss
every night before bed.
Her health is well. She has a new vet and had her first check-up. Glowing review. She was even
calm when getting her nails trimmed.
Tunia is adjusting very well to her new home. She loves her bed, playing ball, and of course, time
with the family. We've also discovered that she loves the beach! Even in the nasty weekend
weather we've been having, Tunia still loves to run in the sand.
4/18/05 - Petunia was adopted!
03/30/05 - Ms.Petunia was spay last week and did wonderful. She had a larger incision due to her
uterus breaking in half. But all is well and all she needs is a forever family to call her own. You will
not be disappointed with this girl
03/21/05 Petunia continues to do wonderful. Her skin has cleared up and she will be spay on Friday.
Tunie just spent a couple weeks at the kennel while we were on vacation. They said she has
impeccable manners. Tunie loves everyone and everything. She gets along great with the other dogs
in the house but wouldn't mind being an only dog. She does not care for cats and is not trust worthy
with them. Kids are really a must. She flips inside out to get the attention of kids. She is great in the
house, has no food issues, doesn't get on the furniture, never has an accident and is just overall a
wonderful dog. If you are looking for a great friend that just lives for attention and to make you
happy she is the girl for you. Petunia is truly a special dog and one family is going to be very lucky to
share their life with her.
02-21-05 We have decided to call "Sweetie" Petunia-it seems to fit her. Petunia moved to a new
foster home here in Maine. We believe she is mostly English Bulldog if not all. She is a very large girl
that needs to drop a few pounds. She had a great trip with the nice couple coming to adopt Phoebe.
They said she was a wonderful traveler and they were tempted to take her right home. Petunia is a
wonderful dog. She is great with other dogs.and has made fast friends with Mugg the bulldog. She is
also good with an older cocker that is here. Petunia has wonderful house manners, she is completely
housebroken and does not get on the furniture. Petunia LOVES kids, she is so excited when the kids
get up in the morning. This super sweet wonderful lovable girl will not be around long, she is being
spayed on Tuesday then should be ready for her forever home.
2/15/05 - We are getting to know Sweetie a little better. It is our guess that she was used as a
breeding machine, living her life in a crate. When we allowed her the run of the downstairs, she kept
wandering into her crate. With a little coaxing, she chased a ball and played a little.
She has the potential to be a 'romper'. When she came back in this morning, she did the "Boxer
Burst" into the house. She was ready to play!! She LOVES humans and is a very affectionate girl.
Last night I cleaned her face and ears and brushed her. She acted like she had never been brushed,
laying very still and making a purring sound. So far she does not like other dogs, maybe because she
was not properly socialized as a pup.
This little girl will reward you in many ways, she doesn't ask for much and appreciates the smallest
things. She is a very sweet girl who will love you unconditionally. Please give this cutie a second
chance.
2-13-05 Burlington boxers would like to welcome Sweetie Pie!
Sweetie is from a nice shelter who took good care of her after she was found as a stray. She would
like to thank Martin for helping 'spring' her from the shelter and giving her a ride to her foster home.
Sweetie is a super cute! She has a boxer head, a long tail and a more bulldog like front end. She is
very overweight, we are working on that with exercise and diet. She rode very well in the car and
was a perfect lady while getting a bath last evening. She ate her dinner and settled down for a nice
quiet night in the crate.
We haven't done introductions with Miss Zoe yet.
Sweetie didn't have a name and seems to respond to being called Sweetie -- so that's what we
decided to
call her. It looks as if this girl had a litter of puppies recently, so we will be finding out when she can
be
spayed. More to come on this honey bun as we get to know her better.
