SADIE
UPDATE 9/1/07 - Hello everyone, Sadie and family here..........I just have to say I love
my family, Mom and Dad, and goofy brother Maximus and SCBR Max, 10-06, and
yes!!!! the cats. My yard is fenced in; about 1 acre. We all run and play to our hearts
content. I am healthy. Don't really like going to the vet...........but who does. I sleep
with mom and dad, Maximus and Max every night. I am considered 'the queen' and have
to have my special spot closest to mom and dad. I really am the 'alpha'. I love my home
and many prayers and thanks to all those from SCBR who take care of all of us.PS......I
also love all my toys and all those special meals my mom makes us.
UPDATE 8/13/06 - Hello everyone; Sadie is such a sweet girl. We celebrated her 1 year
with us on 8-5, we say this is her birthday as we don't know when it is. We had many
toys for her and of course her brother, Maximus. Sadie LOVES her toys. She is very
well adjusted and her true personality has totally come out. She loves us, Maximus,
maybe even the cats!!!, our families, especially the grandchildren. Sadie is beautiful.
Loves to go for rides, walks, loves to sniff everything and laying flat on her back on her
loveseat!!! She had her yearly vet check and is healthy and even loves the vet!! She
loves affection and always tries to get the prime spots next to us.
We love her dearly and she is our forever baby girl!!!
Love to all and our sincere thanks to all at SCBR;
UPDATE 10/30/05 - Hi, Sadie here; I just love my forever home!!! My mom, Karen and
my dad, Tom are just the greatest. I have to admit and confess they do spoil me and I
don't mind that at all!!!I love my 'brother' Maximus. He is alot bigger than I am, but I
can still drag him across the floor when we tug o war. I love to go for a ride and LOOK
at just everything. Maximus thinks he has to BARK at everything!!! I also love to
snuggle with my mom on the loveseat.
I just thank the SCBR volunteers for caring for me and bringing me to my forever
home. Love to all, Sadie
UPDATE 10/3/05 - Hello everyone, Sadie had her first vet appointment and weighs in at
54 lbs. She is a healthy girl. Obedience training is going very good and only 3 weeks left
to go until 'graduation'. Sadie and her 'brother' Maximus have ALOT OF FUN. They love
to play tug of war, chase one another and do dueling playful growls. Sadie is also a
cuddler. Loves to sit/snuggle with us on the loveseat, right up close to us and this is
just SO SWEET. Sadie loves to ride in the truck, go for walks/runs, loves our
grandchildren and is just part of our family. We love her and Maximus is rather smitten
with her, too!!!!
Thank you again SCBR volunteers for all you do, Until next month
UPDATE 9/2/05 - Greetings SCBR, Sadie rode well to her forever home, with a bit a
curious look about where this ride might be taking her. She met my husband Tom and
explored the back yard a bit before we brought her 'brother' out, Maximus. He is a 10
month old neutered Boxer. They sniffed and lapped and sniffed some more. A few
growls as expected, but all in all went very well. She thoughly explored the house, again
lots of sniffing with Maximus right at her heels the entire time. Within a few days she
seemed to fit right in. She is such a sweet, cute little girl. Seems like she has been with
us forever. Maximus and Sadie are quite the pair. So different from each other. Sadie, a
tiny petite 45 pound brindle and there Maximus is at about 70 pounds and fawn. They
play tug-o-war and Sadie can even drag Maximus across the floor. They also play 'I
have a toy and try to get it from me'. They get a new toy a least once a week and Sadie
loves this game. We rattle the plastic bag and they get all ex
cited, 'what am I going to, what am I going to get'?? Then the toys come out, Sadie
runs off like lightening with Maximus full speed after her. He always wants the toy she
has, even if they both get the same thing!!!
Sadie loves to ride, looks around and always attentive to what is around her. Maximus
prefers the nap mode. Maximus, when he is awake, likes to bark at about anybody he
sees; Sadie doesn't quite understand this, quite frankly, we don't either. She'll just look
at him like; 'what the heck are ya barking at'??? They are both very similar but so
different. Sadie does the 'I'm the dignified one', and Maximus, well, is kinda goofy!!
We have discovered Sadie is a bit of a 'chow hound'. Loves her breakfast and supper
and chomping on the dry.
Her health is good and she will get her heartworm pill on 9-7. Had frontline flea
prevention yesterday.
We have her registered for obedience training through Canine and Companion Center at
the Skowhegan Recreation Center, classes starting 9-8 for 6 weeks. We got five dollars
off the fee as Sadie is a rescue.
We love our little girl and so happy she is here with us.
She met our 2 granchildren ages 3 and 6. Loves them and no problem. Our 6 year
granddaughter loves to play with Sadie and Maximus.
Thank you for all the volunteers and foster homes do for our loving, loyal boxers. Every
chance I get I tell people about your wonderful organization.
We love our Sadie........and I am pretty darn sure she loves us!!!!
8/5/05 - Sadie has been adopted!
7/28/05 Sadie is doing just great! She has met two of my male boxers with no issues. She loves to
play with a ball and follow me around in the fenced yard. She thinks it's great fun to race around the
pool when we are swimming and stop and lick our faces! I think with encouragment she migh even
try to swim. She is great in her crate, and only fusses a bit when she really needs to come out. She
is a little bit of a picky eater, but she is certainly eating enough. She is totally housebroken. She
does jump up a bit on us when she plays, but she is light on her feet. I did trim her nails back some
since that was the only problem with jumping up. Overall, Sadie is just a sweet little puppy-girl that
some family will be lucky to adopt!
7/25/05 Sadie arrived Saturday. She was a bit a nervous at first, but is settling in nicely. She is a
pretty little girl, a nice brindle with natural ears and docked tail. She looks like a little
gazelle, all legs!
She has been very sweet to me and just loves my husband. She wiggles like crazy when
she sees him. She crates very well and she also walks nicely on a leash. We will be
introducing her to our dogs tonight, so be watching for updates!
