UPDATE 6/27/05 - Bella has finished her Obedience class (it is amazing what we can get her to do
for a piece of food)and will be taking a canine Good Citizen Class in the fall. We hope to be able to
take her to nursing homes etc. She went tot he Doctor to be spayed last week and will get her stitched
out on Friday. It has been hot here in New York and she has been enjoying swimming with the kids in
Grandma & Grandpa's pool. She also has her own Kiddie pool at home that she splashes around in.
She really loves water..............it is impossible to take a shower or bath without her trying to get i a
join you. She has a squeak toy that looks like a mouse and she is crazy over it......she runs around
squeaking and squeaking it trying to get anyone to pay attention to her. Well, that is all for now.

UPDATE 5/14/05 - Hi everyone! We are doing really well here. Bella has become a part of the
family, we couldn't imagine life without her. She started her Obedience classes 2 weeks ago and is
doing really well. She learns very quickly. She will soon be due to be spayed since she is almost 6
months old.....we are going to wait until she is done with her obedience class to make an appointment.
Bella loves to play with her toys and lick our cats (can't say that they are to thrilled) and be with the
kids wherever they are. She also wants to keep me in sight which is hilarious to watch when she runs
from the kids to me and back again. She still gets to spend Sundays with her 'grandparents' who adore
her and spoil her. I took her out to our community rummage sale day today for some socialization. We
were able to meet a coule of four legged friends and many, many people. We had many compliments
on how pretty she was and how well behaved. What more can I say!!

UPDATE 3/303/05 - Hi everyone!  I did send an update into the SCBR sight but thought I
would post here as well.  We have been having such a great time with
Ruby (AKA Belle,Bella, or Lou Lou)  She has come into our home and
taken over our hearts.  She is (for the most part) housetrained and
only has an accident when we aren't watching for her to ask to go
out.  She has come to me a couple of times and whined to let me know
she needed out so she is learning to ask for what she wants.  She
knows sit, stay and down and will be going for (hopefully) a private
training lesson next week.  We have her registered for an obediance
class that starts the first week of May.  She loves going for walks
with her kids and Mom and Dad.  Mom seems to be the one she loves to
snuggle with and Dad is the one she goes to when she wants to
play "crazy"...........her kids (two boy and two girl humans) are just
really fun too!!!  She spends Sunday mornings with Grandma & Grandpa
while Mom and Dad are at church.  Boy is that fun.  Grandpa thinks she
needs to gain weight so he tries to feed her more treats while she is
there.....we had to have a talk with grandpa.  Sounds much like the
talk we had about candy for the human kids. Anyways, she is be loved
by all.  I could write all day about how special she is....sound like
a proud Mom?  But, this is getting too long so more later.

UPDATE 3/25/05 - Hello all.  We sure have been enjoying Bella......that is the four kids, three cats,
my husband and I.  She is now around 4 months and is growing like a weed.  She is doing very well
with her potty training and has very few accidents.  She has learned to "sit" and "Lay down" and we
are currently working on "stay".  Since I cannot start Obedience Training until the first part of May we
will be taking her for a private lesson to get us started.  Bella is friendly with everyone she meets and
wins them over quickly.  She already has "Grandma and Grandpa" wrapped around her paw.  We
cannot say anough about her and how she has enriched our lives already......

2/24/05 - Ruby has been adopted!

2/9/05 - We have super duper fabulous news to report....the girls have fully recovered and get their
first vaccinations on Thursday. They are no longer contagious and will be ready for adoption this
weekend. We have been getting them used to wearing collars and walking on a leash. Luckily it has
been pretty warm here (Buffalo winters aren't really that bad!) and they enjoy going outside. They
seem to be enjoying their new found freedom and good health.

Chloe and Ruby love to play, play, play with each other and the other dogs. Zelda is great with the
other dogs but tends to be more of a people dog. She always looking for me to pick her up and carry
her around. Luckily since she's the smallest of the pups I can hold her in one hand and do what I need
to do with the other hand. The girls got another nail trim today, it went much better than the previous
one. There was minimal screeching and howling. Mostly just a bit of squirming, but we managed to get
the job done.

All the pups are very well socialized with both people and other dogs. They love everyone and
everything. As much as I am going to miss my little Power Puff Girls they are ready to move onto their
forever homes. They need families that will devote time to their training and allow them to mature into
the best possible companions.

2/3/05 - Ruby is doing great! She is the most opinionated of the 3 girls. If she's not happy we know
about it, like when we clipped her nails. If she is happy we know about that too, she's found her voice
and she uses it to encourage her mom or sisters to play. She is alot of fun.

We still have a few more days to watch for any setbacks. The vet feels that if they do not have any
setbacks by Monday they will be considered "cured" and no longer contagious. They can be
vaccinated the end of next week or early the following week and ready for adoption. All the pups have
already had their first deworming.

01/28/05 Thankfully at this point Ruby is not showing any signs of Parvo. She is being treated with
medication and antibiotics as a preventitive but since my little piggy girl is eating and drinking well we
don't have to do the fluid injections with her. We hope that she continues to hold her own. Ruby goes
to the vet today for another check-up. Please keep Ruby in your thoughts

01/24/05 - Ruby is a sweetie of a pup. She happy, cuddly, outgoing and playful. She has some white
on her chest and all 4 paws are fawn. She also has a strip of fur on her neck that sticks up. It is so cute
and makes it easy to tell her apart from her sisters.

Ruby will be ready for adoption in about 2 weeks. She will need a family where someone is home
most of the time and has the energy/time to devote to training/socializing her. We are not 100% sure of
the pups parentage. We know Mom is a purebred Boxer but we are unsure about dad. All the pups
look like little boxers, with some black on there tails. There is the chance that dad was a Boxer Mix if
not a pure Boxer.
