UPDATE 11/3/08 - I can't believe it has already been nearly 3 years.  Sissy as we call  her (my daughter was just 1
when we got Sis and she couldn't say Princess) is so much part of our family that I cannot remember a time
without her.  Much has happened and she is now a BIG (but not fat) girl weighing in at around 65lbs. She is still a
puppy though and loves giving and receiving as much attention as possible.  i always tell people that my daugther
(who is about to be 4) was her litter mate. They are the best of friends.  Now I have a son who will be 1 at the end of
the month so Sissy has another sibling to love and play with and give so many boxer kisses too.  Those two share
everything (including kibble).  Our existing cat and Sissy are great friends (they are sometimes caught napping
together) and the kitten we got when the baby was born is a play mate too - if only you allowed me to upload
pictures I could send some hilarious pics of fluffy cat and white boxer in a bit sleepy heap).
Sissy continues to be amazing with children - not just  my two - but since the birth of the baby, she is much more
protective.  She has been  known to growl and raise her hackles when an unknown person comes to the door and
she doesn't like other dogs (particularly smaller ones) even looking at her baby.  This has msde life walking on the
bike path a bit more challenging.  Frankly, she is much better off leash.
We did get her some obedience training a couple of years ago and it did pay off - basically she wants to be a good
girl - it was just a question of tugging.  Now we might consider it again just to get her lunging at other dogs under
control when the baby is present.
All in all, Sissy is a wonderful gift to us - we have been through quite a bit (divorce, remarriage, etc.) and she has
been with us every step of the way just loving and loving.
On a superficial note, she has turned into a really beautiful dog.  I get so many compliments.
She has had some tendon problems on her hind left leg - she pulled something and we have been trying to get it
fully rested but it is very difficult to get her to slow down - that boxer bounce is there regardless of whether she is
hurt.  We are therefore exercising her more gently and on leash - a real shame as she loves the beach at this time
of year.  I've tried various homeopathci remedies and she is on cosamids but she still seems stiff and is prone to
re-jarring her leg given the chance.  It is sad as we have to regulate her best doggy friends coming over to play until
this is settled (they are an Akita and a labradoodle ).
As a final note  - thank you so much for all you do.  If I ever have more time I would come and get another boxer
from you at any time.  Sissy is a complete star and we would be lost without her.
Maybe when we get baby (human) number 3....

12/05 - Princess has been adopted!

11/27/05 - Princess is a beautiful five month old white boxer puppy that has just come into rescue because she
was a little more work than her previous family was expecting. They did however give her a pretty good start in life.
She is coming along great with the house breaking here (she was housebroken at her previous home) and has
had some training. Princess loves other dogs and plays wonderfully with my other five month old foster Rastus
even though she is almost twice his size. She is very friendly and loves all the attention she has been getting. She
will definatly make a wonderful addition to any family that has the time and energy to keep up with her. I will update
her again after I have gotten to know her better.
