UPDATE 2/25/07 - WOW, It has been over a yr since I updated.Phoebe is great!!! Not sure
if anyone remembers her but, she had a VERY bad case of mange. She has been Mange free
for over a yr now. She does have some skin problems that are still be addressed. We just had
a bld. test to see what she is allergic to. She is still on Prednisone for 2 yr. She is just
wonderful she is a handful but, we would never change a thing about her. Hi Leanne hope all is
well with you. I just ordered two dog coats from horse creations they are wonderful.
UPDATE 5/18/05 - Phoebe is just wonderful. She has adjusted so well. It's hard to believe she
has only been with us for a month. We adore her and she knows it. She has wet a few times in
the house but, mainly just excitable piddle . Blaze our 4 yr old boxer boy and Phebs play all
day long and I mean all day. They have had very few scuffles nothing major. We crate her
during the day and Blaze is left out when we get home he sits by her crate until we let her out.
She is also crated at nite and Blaze her buddy sleeps on the bed in her room. She just loves the
car and thinks everytime you leave she should be going. She is very protective of the house but,
when we are out she is very very timid. Our vet suggested taking her to Petsmart and just walk
around with her so we do that a few times a week. Leann Phoebe's mange has not gotten any
better in fact the vet said she is a sick little girl that needs alot of TLC and rest. Well, she is at
the right place for that. She has a very active case that is not contained to just one area. She is
losing her hair again. We have to give her an extra vitamin supplement daily. So, she will start
dips this friday. Her lymph nodes in her throat are very swollen but as the mange improves they
should go down also. She also has large pimples under her her chin due to the mange we are
treating that with oxy10 acne medication. So, she wants her to avoid as much stress as
possible. She does start obedience class this Wed but, if too stressful will will stop and resume
at a later date.
Even with her mange we wouldn't trade her for anything. We were meant to find her at SCBR
and would like to thank everyone for all the hard work and time that goes into SCBR.
UPDATE 4/26/05 - Well, sooo much has happened in a month. I was hoping we would have
better news on the mange but unfortunaty the little buggers are still with us.And it seems this is
taking a toll on Pheb's immune system. Since we have last talked we have takening her to the
vet several times. She is still on the Ivomec 0.7cc and the scratching had become so bad that
she was started on Prednisone but, the prednisone caused frequent urination and I mean
frequent so that is given every othe day now. She has a bilateral ear infection and ulcerations in
her ears so , she gets two different ear drops twice a day and boy do we get a workout trying
to put them in. We see the vet every other week just to keep on top of things. With patience
and TLC we hope to get these problems under control soon. Poor Pheb's but, she continues to
be happy and content. With all that said we love her dearly. She has really started to act like a
typical puppy chewing anything and everything possible , cell phones ,CDs, expensive coffee
tables, molding and money. My 14 yr old niece had 190.00 birthday money and she was
visiting and we stressed how you can't leave anything around because its fair game to Pheb's
well, Phoebe comes trotting out with a empty bank envelope and we all jump up looking
everywhere for the money a little while later I go in her crate to wash her blankets and there is
the money in a neat little pile. She has proven to be quite the little thief. Tomorrow is are last
obedience class but, we are going to sign up for the next class also. She really is doing well and
seems to enjoy it hmmm could it be because everyone makes such a fuss over her. We just tell
her she's lucky she's cute when she is quite the mischief maker. But, hey that's puppy life. Her
and Blaze get along wonderfully they are great buds. Steve teases that he's going to buy her a
one way ticket back to Maine. We wouldn't trade her for anything she's our little Phebs. A big
Happy Birthday to Phoebe she turned the big one on the 20th you'd have thought it was x-mas
with all the presents and you would also think I would learn by now that stuffed toys don't stand
a chance around here. Phoebe here check out my silly BD pictures 'the things we do for love or
should I say food'
UPDATE 3/14/05 - Phoebe is just wonderful. She has adjusted so well. It's hard to believe she

2/18/05 - Phoebe has been adopted!
2/2/05 - Phoebe is one happy puppy. She loves to play with anyone that will give her the time
of day. She is very active and would do well with a home with another dog to play with.
Phoebe loves everyone but hasn't quite learned how to control herself. She is a little jumpy but
I'm confident that she will calm down. Phoebe continues to do well in the crate and not have
any accidents in the house. She is responding well to treatment of her mange and I'm hopeful
that she can be spay soon. Is this cute girl the one for your family?
1/21/05 Phoebe is a spit fire. She is full of bounce and energy. Phoebe also loves to kiss. She
has a small attention span but does want to please you. She knows sit, and will usually come
when called. She absolutely loves other dogs. She would do wonderful with another young dog
to play with. Phoebe started her mange treatment today. We are hoping to see some quick
results so she can move on to that forever family she has always wanted. Phoebe has not had
any accidents in the house or in her crate. She loves playing in the yard with her best friend
Princess and Cronus. Phoebe likes the kids but younger ones tend to make her nervous. If you
have a high energy home and want a high energy puppy, Phoebe might be the one for you. She
is an absolutely doll and will be one beautiful girl as soon as all her hair comes back.
1/16/05 - Phoebe is a beautiful dark brindle girl that has been bounced around way to much in
her short life. She finally ended up in a nice shelter due to demodex mange. The shelter
manager called us to see if we could help her as they loved her. The shelter manager drove 8+
hours round trip to get her to me. Phoebe is a little frightened but super sweet. She has warmed
up so quickly. Phoebe will steal many hearts while she is here which we don't think will be long.
We will update you more soon.
