10/9/05 - So here it is, Sunday Oct. 9th just 2 days shy of my 8 week birthday and I still don't have a forever family. I
just can't seem to understand why my special people haven't found me yet. I am cute as a button, cuddly and
loving. So, I'm not quite housebroke and nip a bit but I will gladly make up for that with kisses.
I got my first shots last week and the vet commented on what great puppies we are. We were perfectly well
behaved at the office. We waited our turn by taking a nap on the bench in the exam room. The vet gave us each an
exam, weighed us and gave us a shot. Then he put us on the floor to play. We sniffed around a bit and then settled
down for a nap. Not one single accident, that is amazing for 6 puppies. We promise to grow up to be nice puppies
just like our mom Diamond is. You can call my foster mom she will tell you all about us.
09/29/05 - Pearl is a typical little puppy girl. She up for anything and doesn't cut her brothers any slack. They may
be bigger but Pearlie puts them in there place if they get too rough playing. She is a sweet little girl and will be
ready for adoption in just 2 weeks! All the pups are doing pretty well with housebreaking. They love being outside
and romp, play and come in for a nap. Keeping tabs on the 6 of them in the yard is no easy task! She has wants to
be a Lady "Love" Bug for Halloween. Unfortunately she probably won't fit in the costume in another month. Anyway,
she had full at her "photo shoot".
9/19/05 - Here's baby Pearl, one of Diamond's sweet puppies. Pearl is a happy go lucky pup who loves to be held
and pet. Pearl turns 5 weeks old on Tuesday so you better get those applications in just 3 short weeks and she
will be ready to go home!
9/7/05 - I would like to introduce Diamonds puppies, we have 4 boys and 2 girls. They turned 3 weeks old
yesterday and will be ready for their new homes in 5 short weeks. They are healthy, happy little babies and growing
like weeds. They had their first vet check when they were 3 days old and had their front and rear dew claws
removed to avoid any future problems with them becoming loose. They also had their first worming last week and
will have another at 4 & 6 weeks old. At 6 weeks we will get their first series of vaccinations. We are unsure what
the puppies are mixed with, but they have very thick colorful coats.
Since Momma's name is Diamond we decided to go with Gemstone names for the puppies. So we have
Topaz (M), Peridot (M), Garnet (M), Sapphire (F), Pearl (F) and our odd ball Dominic who was fifth to be born. Why
Dominic you ask? The day the puppies were being born Diamond had the first 4 pups with 45 minutes. We
thought she was done when out came #5 1 1/2 hours after #4. A good friend called me who is a SCBR foster
home and adopter to tell me her beloved Dominic very suddenly passed away. Upon talking to her we realized pup
#5 was born about the same time her boy passed. So we decided to name him in memory of Christine's much
loved Dominic. You always hear that for everyone who leaves us another is born, that holds especially true in this
case.
The pups are getting used to their weekly nail trims. They are starting to play, walk and be much more active. Now
the fun begins with keeping them contained. As of last week when they were weighed for deworming the pups
weights were Topaz 3lb 10oz, Dominic 3lb 4oz, Peridot 3lb 1oz, Garnet 3lbs, Sapphire 2lb 14oz, Pearl 2lb 13 oz.
I will recharge my digital batteries so I can get individual pictures of the puppies for the web site. Stay tuned for
more updates!
