UPDATE 11/11/05 - It is nine months now that we have had muggs and daisy.muggs is doing great, daisy
was doing great up until sunday night, about seven o clock she acted like she wanted to vomit but
couldn't,we took her outside to see if she wanted to eat some grass, but she didn't,she tried to have a
bowel movement but couldn't.we decided to call our vet,we got the on call vet,we went to see her
first. She started an i.v.,did an exam of her and said it looked like GDV,which is also known as twisted
gut.the vet said that daisy would need emergency surgery.so we load daisy up i.v. and all and we head
for frederick,md.   we got to frederick about a hour later, they did a x-ray and that is what they said was
wrong with her,so at nine-thirty she was going into surgery. They took her spleen out as it got twisted
also.it was a long night as we waited for surgery to be over.two and a half hours later it was over, they
tested a couple of spots they found but it was not cancer thank god.We left daisy about two-thirty that
morning, came back at sevena.m.to get her, from there she went to our vet up in chambersburg,pa.our vet
said she looked good, checked her out and sent her home.on wednesday she went back to our vet and he
said everything looked good.daisy goes back in two weeks to get her staples taken out.I have been home
with daisy all this week,I hate the thought of going back to work tomorrow.Daisy is eating small portions
of chicken and rice for now.The vet told us that because we acted so promptly that we saved her life.I
can't tell you how scared we were. Daisy is doing better now, that little girl has been through so
much. She's feeling better today she wanted to run around the yard chasing after muggs,I had to tell her to
stop it,the vet doesn't want her running yet.Well I think that's enough excitement for a while.we will keep
in touch and keep you posted about daisy's better days ahead.

2/12/05 Muggs and Daisy have been adopted!

01/21/05 - Hello to all from Burlington Boxers.  Muggs and Daisy continue to do well here.  We are still
learning new things about them and their personalities.

Both of them are very affectionate -- Muggs is a little more of the  kisser.  Daisy will provide little kisses
when she is hungry and waiting for her dinner.  Both are big cuddlers.

They love to play and run in the yard, Daisy especially likes to play outside.  She is SO funny when she
crouches down and pounces on Muggs when he walks by!  Like every boxer we've known, they don't
like to
go out in the rain or in the cold.  A little push (for Muggs, especially) is usually necessary on those days.

We have never had dogs who were littermates, and it is the coolest thing!  They drink from the same
bowl, will eat from the same dish (we keep them separated at mealtime, so Muggs doesn't eat Daisy's
share of the food), play "tug" together, and are totally comfortable with each other.

These two wonderful boxers really deserve a forever home. They are in excellent health and physical
shape, have had top notch veterinary care all of their lives, are active, well behaved and loving.  There are
lots of advantages to adopting a more mature boxer.

Do you have it in your heart to open your home to Daisy and her Big Brother?  You won't be sorry.

11/29/04 Muggs and Daisy went "over the river and through the woods" to grandmother's house for
Thanksgiving.  When we mentioned going for a "ride in the car", there was much excitement among the
boxers.  When they got dressed up in their bandanas, they could stand still no longer.  Kidney bean
dances times three (Zoe went along, too).

Everyone did extremely well on the car ride; and Muggs and Daisy did well all day long.  Our guess is
that they are no strangers to large family gatherings, as they seemed to be extremely happy to be in a
large group or people.  They were very well mannered and made a wonderful impression on all.

These two wonderful boxers will celebrate their 8th birthday on December 1st.  They are quiet, loving
and well behaved.  Not an accident in the house since they have been with us.  They are great with
people and other dogs and love to play.  Perhaps there is room under your Christmas tree for these
beauties?

11/01/04 - Muggs and his little sister are doing great.  His neuter went well (he might disagree)  and the
vet sai0110d that he is in "outstanding physical condition".  Daisy is also doing well.  She has put on a
little weight, and is now up to 53 pounds.  She is a tall girl and could probably use another pound or two.

Both of these guys go into the crate without a problem and have had no housebreaking issues.  I think
Daisy has a little bit of separation anxiety, so they are both crated when we are not home.  I think that
they have has some training, because they both do REALLY well on a leash.  Daisy went to the local pet
store last week and did beautifully.  She knows more commands that we had originally thought.  She was
really great with everyone (including little kids) who wanted to admire and pet her.

Zoe is teaching both of them how to play.  They were reluctant at first, but now spend time in the yard
chasing her. Actually, Daisy does most of the chasing and Muggs barks at them and tries to keep up.  It
is so cute to see Muggs and Daisy play together. The other day they were playing with a ball, and kept
passing it to one another!!

These two boxer littermates are recovering well from the trauma of losing their owner after 8 years.  They
are quiet, well behaved and have no issues.  They would love to come into your home and be your boxer
buddies.  Please consider giving these beautiful boxers a second
chance.

9/17/04 Daisy and Muggs are doing great!! They have settled in nicely with Zoe and Buddy. They travel
around together like a herd!

Muggs is a giant ball of love, who loves attention and affection. Daisy is a little less pushy, but likes to
cuddle. Muggs is a great kisser, too!! Not too many kisses from little sister. They are both very
wiggly,bendy and waggly.

Daisy has finally begun to gain some weight. They are both very good eaters, and have not a shred of
food aggression. We have been keeping them separate during meals, so that Muggs doesn't eat Daisy's
food.

They love to run in the yard and play "run around the pool" with the other Boxers. Like many of the
Boxers we have known, they don't like to go out in the rain.

We are guessing that in their previous home, they were allowed to sleep on the furniture. They are not
very happy that they are not allowed to do that here, but they both listen well. Daisy really likes the nice,
comfy dog beds.

We have seen no evidence of separation anxiety in either of them, now that they have settled in. Both are
fully housetrained and crate trained.  They actually like to share a crate.

One remarkable thing about these two is that they seem very young for their age. Neither of them has
much gray, and they are pretty active. They bounce around and run with the younger dogs. Daisy is very
fast!!

All in all, these are two great Boxers, who would love to come and live with you. They are well behaved,
quiet and very loving. They are no trouble at all. Do you have it in your heart to be the forever home for
this brother and sister who have lost their owner?

9/10/04 Daisy, and her brother Muggs have arrived at Burlington Boxers. Thank you to George who
drove to CT to get them from a nice shelter who took very good care of them.

Daisy and Muggs are littermates and totaly love eachother! For that reason, we feel strongly that they be
adopted together. They were surrendered to the shelter because their owner died.

Introductions to Buddy/Bailey our other foster, and Zoe-bug our resident sweetie, went very well. Not a
grumble heard at all!!

Now to the details:

Daisy is a beautiful brindle and white female, with cropped ears and a docked tail. She is very
underweight, the shelter personnel said that she hasn't been eating well because she is grieving for her
owner. We will do our best to 'fill her up, and fill her out". She seems to be a quiet girl, but that might be
because of all the recent changes in her life. Photos and more to come on Daisy-do as we get to know
her better.

Muggs is a very big fawn boy, with a white spot on his neck. He has cropped ears and a docked tail. He
is not as shy as his sister. He is convinced that he is a lap dog and gives tons of sloppy Boxer kisses. He
is very affectionate and a very sweet guy. We will be scheduling him for his "nip and tuck" very soon.
Photos and more to come on Muggsy-boy as we get to know him.
