MOJO

UPDATE 7/31/05 - I knew he was the boxer for me when I picked him up! After a short but
impressive greeting from MoJo he proceeded to jump into the back of my open Tahoe and go right
to the front passenger seat, sit down and look back at us as if to say "OK this is my family and I
have decided that I am going home with them"! Oh how he stole my heart! We had a really nice
day with him touring the coast of Maine and the back roads of New Hampshire on our way home
stopping for water, treats and walks along the way. MoJo LOVES to ride in the Tahoe with his nose
out in the fresh air. He is content and happy with his black nose resting on the edge of the window
sucking up as much air as he can and letting his ears and lips flutter in the wind! What a cutie!! He
and I have been going non stop since his arrival here and I sometimes wonder if he sings to
himself "on the road again...just cant wait to get on the road again". He has become quite the
social butterfly
and enjoys all the attention and fun we are having. I adore him and could not imagine my life
without him after only one week!!!

7/24/05 - Mojo has been adopted!

7/21/05 - Mojo came back today from being neutered and having all his shots updated at the vets & he was happy
to see me!   The vet office said he did great & he was a very good boy for them.  He weighed 59 lbs & the vet said he
was in great shape.  Mojo did test negative for heartworm, but had a very slight positive for lyme disease.  He does
not show outward symptoms of lyme disease and since we do not know his past medical history, the vet said he
could have been treated for it before & he is still testing positive.   He will just need to be on antibiotics for a few
weeks to clear it up.  Since Lyme disease is a bacteria transmitted by a tick bite at one time, luckily it is not
contagious to people or other animals.

I found one of Mojo's favorite things: riding in the car with his nose sniffing the air out the window!   The last few
rides he has taken in the car with me he has been in heaven just to have his nose sniffing the air.   Funny thing is
he looks so serious when he does it, like he is analyzing all the smells!   I think he would ride with anyone all day
as long as he could sniff the air outside! LOL

This is one great boxer boy that needs his new home soon.  He loves to be with his family & will not disappoint you.
His picture does not show how cute he really is either! :)

7/15/05 - This boy is a special catch for someone!  He is so sweet, mellow and gets along great with my dogs
since day one.  He definitely cannot live with cats though as he has only become worse with them and does not
give up.   Funny thing is he could care less about my big cage of cockatiel birds though.   Mojo loves to sleep near
you on a dog bed, may even like to sneak on the bed if you gave him the chance!  He is going into his wire crate
when I am not home without any problems.

I do not have an active house with people coming & going so I cannot test that out with Mojo, but from his past
homes it is said he is protective about people coming in.  Therefore, he would be best to go to a home without a lot
of guests or kids' friends coming & going.  This guy is too sweet & needs his permanent home this time.  If I did not
have cats, Mojo would definitely be a keeper!

7/12/05
- Mojo is the new guy in town at The Boxer Oasis!   Thank you so much to those who offered to help at the
last minute when the shelter called us to get Mojo in this past weekend.  Special thanks goes out to Jackie W. for
pulling the transport together & to Tinder who decided to drive the whole distance from RI to Maine!   Also, thank you
Lori for watching Mojo until I could pick him up.

Mojo is a SUPER CUTE really "squishy-faced" dark fawn 4 year old purebred boxer with a black mask, docked tail &
natural ears.   We do not know much about his past, except that his original owners gave him to someone & they
only had him a week before taking him to the shelter.  They said he was wonderful with their family & kids of all
ages & even with people he didn't know, but was too protective at the door when people came over.  They felt they
had too much activity with people coming in & out all the time that it would not be easy to handle Mojo through all
that.

Mojo rode great with me in the back seat from Lori's & he wanted to snuggle & cuddle with me much of the ride.
When we got home he briefly met my cats & showed way too much intent interest in them for my liking.  He did
meet my two dogs immediately too & was perfectly fine with them & vice versa (WOW!--very unusual for MY dogs to
be that way!).   He did not want to go in his crate & finally we had a mutual agreement that he would like to be in a
wire one instead of the plastic vari-kennel type.  Mojo settled down quickly for the night & did not move!

He is a very sweet boy & last night showed me some of his training.  He knows to lay down when asked, will sit &
"get off the couch". LOL   Mojo seems like a very smart boy.  He does like to snuggle with you on the couch, but will
get off when asked to & is happy to have a dog bed to lay on.

On next Thursday, 7/21, Mojo is going to the vet to be neutered, get heartworm tested & all his shots updated.   I
know as soon as that is done, this boy is going to a new home!   I will try to get some pictures up soon, but believe
me, he's in my top 5 pick for best looking black masked fawn boys
