UPDATE 4/1/11 - Luther died yesterday. He got cancer and had trouble manuevering the
stairs. He will be sadly missed. He was a great dog. Great with the boys. We will miss the
sound of his nails across the kitchen floor. RIP!!!
UPDATE 3/7/05 - Luther is doing great. The family just loves him. He is gentle and loving.
My boys take him for walks around the neighborhood and play with him in the backyard. He is
doing great in obedience training. He is an asset to our family.
1/19/05 - Luther arrived at my home on Monday night and has fit in quite well so far! He is a
big boy, weighing somewhere around 85 pounds at least. He wasn't too skinny like most dogs
coming from a shelter, but I can imagine he will still gain some weight while being here. He
hasn't been eating a lot- but is drinking like a maniac! I have never seen a dog splash around so
much in the water while drinking. He is not neutered or up to date on his shots but we have an
appointment this weekend to get all of his shots done. His neuter will follow two weeks after
that. He arrived with an ear infection (which he is taking pills for) and also a bit of a skin rash.
Neither seem to be bothering him. He is completely housebroken, and hasn't had any accidents
(but he did mark twice). He seems to get along with my other dog pretty good. My boxer can
be a bit overwhelming because she likes to jump on all dogs that she sees. Luther doesn't mind
at all. In fact they take turns chasing each other around the dining room table. I think that he is
fine around cats... I have one myself but the cat isn't around much so it is hard to tell. Luther is
a VERY friendly dog, and seems pretty lovable. If you sit on the floor with him, he will come
near you and sit AS CLOSE as he can get to you without sitting ON you. He also loves to
give kisses (and his teeth are very white). I can tell that this dog is going to get adopted quickly!!
