8/20/05 - Thank you very much to everyone who donated to Louie's care and heartworm treatment! He had his
first treatments about a month ago and did very well with them, only alittle sluggish the first day. He should not
be placed in a home with cats, I do have to be very careful with him with my cats.
Louie is waiting for his forever home to come along. Is that you?
07/15/05 - Just sending in an update on Louie, I have not sent anything in a while. He is now very attached to us
and did not want to share us with my other dogs. unfortunately he had a scuttle with my dogs and got bit in the
leg. He is doing fine, had to go on antibiotics. He finally played for the first time the other day I was so happy to
see him comfortable enough with us to play. He seems to also be coming to an understanding with our cats.
He definitely loves going for rides with my husband to deliver hay, guess he is a country boy now.
7/1/05 - Louie continues to be such a wonderful dog, but i have some bad news. He did visit the vet this week
and get neutered, that was a good thing. Bad news is he is Heartworm positive and we also took a mast
cell tumor off. I felt such emotion with this news, I have become very fond of him in such a short time. I will let
you know on his medical condition next week. Oh, he loves to go for rides and in one week he is trained to my
Pet Safe fence.
6/27/05 - Louie's first week with us was very positive. I think he likes the country air and wide open spaces, as
long as there is a human in sight to lean on ( you know the Boxer Lean) He is not good with my cats yet but that I
will give him some time. He is very smart and affectionate. He will be neutered this week if all goes as planned.
6/21/05 - Louie is here with me-has been since Sunday. I do not understand how such a lovely dog ends up in
this situation. I hope he finds a family. If not, he is welcome here as long as he needs...
