9/19/05 - Hi, I am Dominic. I am one of Diamond's puppies. I will be ready for adoption in just a few weeks. Until
then I will be playing with everyone here and getting stuck under the couch (foster mom is constantly moving it to
get me out).
9/7/05 - I would like to introduce Diamond's puppies, we have 4 boys and 2 girls. They turned 3 weeks old
yesterday and will be ready for their new homes in 5 short weeks. They are healthy, happy little babies and growing
like weeds. They had their first vet check when they were 3 days old and had their front and rear dew claws
removed to avoid any future problems with them becoming loose. They also had their first worming last week and
will have another at 4 & 6 weeks old. At 6 weeks we will get their first series of vaccinations. We are unsure what
the puppies are mixed with, but they have very thick colorful coats.
Since Momma's name is Diamond we decided to go with Gemstone names for the puppies. So we have
Topaz (M), Peridot (M), Garnet (M), Sapphire (F), Pearl (F) and our odd ball Dominic who was fifth to be born. Why
Dominic you ask? The day the puppies were being born Diamond had the first 4 pups with 45 minutes. We
thought she was done when out came #5 1 1/2 hours after #4. A good friend called me who is a SCBR foster
home and adopter to tell me her beloved Dominic very suddenly passed away. Upon talking to her we realized pup
#5 was born about the same time her boy passed. So we decided to name him in memory of Christine's much
loved Dominic. You always hear that for everyone who leaves us another is born, that holds especially true in this
case.
The pups are getting used to their weekly nail trims. They are starting to play, walk and be much more active. Now
the fun begins with keeping them contained. As of last week when they were weighed for deworming the pups
weights were Topaz 3lb 10oz, Dominic 3lb 4oz, Peridot 3lb 1oz, Garnet 3lbs, Sapphire 2lb 14oz, Pearl 2lb 13 oz.
I will recharge my digital batteries so I can get individual pictures of the puppies for the web site. Stay tuned for
more updates!
