CUTIE

UPDATE 10/27/05 - Oohh.... SHE IS THE BEST!! Cutie is stuck with us forever and ever. We are so lucky to have
gotten such a wonderful girl. We found out that there is nothing wrong with her jaw or tongue. She just doesn't use
them! She's just quirky! Well anyway, Cutie warmed up to us (and the cats) extremely fast. She loves to run with
Jason. She runs almost 4 miles every morning. On the days that they don't run, SHE takes ME for a walk. Needs a
little help in that department. Shes so used to running that she thinks I'm going to run too. I don't think so. She also
loves going for rides...can't get enough of them. Every time I go to Dunkin Donuts for a coffee, they give her a plain
munchkin through the window. She knows their coming too because every time she hears the voice come over the
speaker, she gets all excited. Wicked funny stuff! Jason picks her up and carries her around like she's a 50 pound
baby! She loves it. She also thinks she's small enough to sit on your lap. Of course, we let  her. It's funny because
when she is on our laps, you can't see us. I think her favorite sport is football. She gets all excited when we take her
to Jay's flag games. She also loves to just cuddle up. When we first got her, she would lay on the couch while I did
homework.....so I started putting a blanket on her and now she waits for me to do it. She loves to sleep with us...of
course it has to be right in the middle. And she doesn't lay in the same direction as us...oh no, no, she has to lay
horizontally so that her front paws and head are on me and her back paws are on Jay. From there she pushes  us
to the opposite edges of the bed. Our cats sleep on our heads, so it must be an interesting sight at night!! Who
needs kids when you have animals?!! Cutie is like a baby. She wakes one of us up at 3am most mornings so she
can do her 'business'. This just started, so wer'e hoping to change it! Another thing about her that we just absolutely
love (just kidding), is her human-like  farts. Good grief does she stink....and they are soooo loud. It's really funny!
She scares herself most of the time. Other than that, she's perfect!! We'll be writing again soon!!

UPDATE 9/25/05 - Well, this is Cutie's one week update. She is fitting in perfectly!! We all love her already (us and
our two kitties, Preecious and Jasper). She is so much fun. We can't believe how well behaved she is. Today was a
day of pampering at Petco. She got to meet a bunch of other dogs, some she liked some she didn't! She got a spa
treatment also(bath, nails, ears). She was a little nervous when they had to dry her but that was it. When we came
back to pick her up she was waiting with her new pink bandana and boy was she happy to be nice and clean. She
wanted to run around and play because she felt so good about herself. She has been one happy dog. She follows
us around the house making sure we aren't going anywhere without her. If she wants your attention, she paws at
you in the air. We go for rides all the time and she absolutely loves them. We made an appointment for her to go to
the vet because we are concerned about her jaw. She doesn't open her mouth very far and never really
uses her tongue. She doesn't even use it to eat or drink. When she eats, she picks up a small mouthful, tilts her
head up towards the ceiling and chews that way so the food doesn't fall out of her mouth. Its actually really cute to
watch but we want to make sure its ok. We know she wants to give us a million kisses but she won't use her
tongue. Instead she nibbles on your fingers and gets all wiggly and excited. We can't explain how much we love her
already and so far we are all a perfect match!!!

9/18/05 - Cutie has been adopted!

9/8/05 – Cutie just gets cuter and sweeter by the day.  She is quiet as a mouse and never ever complains.  She
doesn’t even snore.  She is just a great little girl.  Cutie gets along great with my boxer bum Bailey.  She lives
for breakfast and supper.  Straight to the important stuff when she goes outside—eat, drink, other business then
playtime.  She doesn’t jump up on me or anything else.  She just loves to go in the basket we have here to pick
out a stuffed squeaky toy to flip up in the air and play with, then off to the basket again to search for another toy.  Her
favorites are the plushy ones.  I regretfully have to say she does not put them back, but neither do any of the other
guests here.  Even if Cutie is off exploring something really really interesting, she will come running (hopping) if you
call her.  She just adores people.  This little girl has so much love she is storing away for when her forever family
finds her.  I think that Cutie would do well in a house with or without other furry critters running about.  She is just
happy to be getting some good kibble and lots of love and attention.  She loves it when you talk to her.  Her eyes
just keep getting brighter and brighter with each day.  The expression on her face has changed so much since she
first came.  It is as though all her stress just melted away to let the real happy go lucky girl she is come out.  She is
going to make some very lucky family very happy.  She is just so funny to watch.  She struts around with that tail held
up high, just as happy as can be and I would swear she is smiling.  If you talk to her at all she just explodes with
excitement, but never ever jumping on you, but everywhere around you.  So why haven’t we heard from you yet?
Cutie is the easiest keeper I have had yet.  All you have to do is give us a quick call and come pick her up.  She is
patiently waiting for you to find her.

8/31/05 – Okay!!  Where is Cuties forever family??  Cutie was just talking to me last night.  She said “Foster
Mom, (this is where you imagine her cute little head tilt with the one ear with the white at the bottom and that white
tipped tail bouncing from side to side across her backside never ever jumping up on you and those sweet big
brown pleading eyes)….  Got that picture in your head now???  â€Foster Mom, where is my forever family?  Why
can’t they find me?  I try sooo…. hard to be just the perfect little girl, aren’t you telling them that?  I try so
hard everyday.  I listen to everything you say, I love all people, I’m getting along with others even Gus (the attack
cat who hates everyone and everything).  (Okay, back to the head tilt) I’m not a jealous girl, I eat all my meals, Iâ
€™m healthy.  I never even had an accident since I’ve been here.  I only play with toys that are mine and I never
jump up on anybody.  I always come running everytime you call me and have earned all my priviledges here.  Why
haven’t they been able to find me yet?
Cutie is such a great little girl.  She is a lovable little wigglebutt that really deserves a family to call her own.  She
has done exceptional in her foster home.  I have had absolutely no problems with her at all.  I introduced her slowly
and that was all she needed to get accustomed to family life.  Boxer bums do not do well without a loving family or
in shelters.  It took her a few weeks to get over that.  When you call, I just don’t have anything to say about her
other than what a wonderful, good little girl she is.  Please, call her soon.

She just sits by the phone each day hoping today will be the day that her forever family will find her and bring her
home with them.  Then finally…..when the night is done, and her head starts nodding off…she gives a little sigh,
looks up at all of us as if to say, “Night Foster Mom, Night Bailey Bum, Night Gussie, Night Bratty Boy…. Maybe
tomorrow they’ll callâ€…..  then she goes in her crate to go to sleep to dream about what soon will be just for
her.    J

Do you get the picture here?  She has grown so much and is ready to move forward in her life.  Please give her a
call tonight.  You won't ever regret it

8/27/05 - Well the reports are all in on Cutie. I have to take the opinions of the resident cat (Gus) and boxer (Bailey)
on all fosters. Cutie passes with flying colors yayyy!! Even Gus is taking a liking to Cutie. And Gus doesn't' like
anybody, not even me. Last night when Cutie and Bailey were out running around Gus decided to come in via the
fenced in area where they play. No problem.... Cutie slowed down just a bit and walked right over to Gus to do the
nose to nose thing and everything was fine. Gus has yet to get along with one of the fosters this well. He usually
snubs everyone except for my boxer Bailey. Course Bailey just loves Cutie. They look for each other when it is
time to go out to play.

Oh another thing happened last night. I put the food bowl out back for Cutie to have her supper and Bailey decided
he wanted a few bites. Well there they were for just a few minutes with two muzzles grabbing for kibble. No issues
at all. Then Cutie decided she was hungry and gave a little bark and Bailey just walked away to find something else
to do. I feel she is doing absolutely perfect getting along with others. She is such a great little girl. She is
patiently waiting for her new forever home to give us a call. Just ask about the "cute" one and we will know who you
are calling for.

8/24/05 - I see that Cutie sent in an update last week. I wanted to tell everyone that Cutie is one of the best fosters I
have had. She has settled in very very nicely and in such a short amount of time. I can't tell you what an easy keeper
she is and her little ways of just being such a good little girl. She imediately comes when you call her. She just
LOVES people and it is just so apparent. It is so nice because when she meets people she will do her little excited
dancing around, but never on you. All around you, but she does not jump up on you at all. She just has those cute
little eyes and just looks at you and I just know she is smiling. She loves her tummy rubbed. She taught me this,
yes she taught me..... by lifting up her front paw, which I thought she wanted to shake hands... but then she will
shake hands with you then just slowly inch her way down down down and before you know it she goes PLUP!! and
your giving her a belly rub (just what she wanted). She is a very smart little girl!

No problems what-so-ever with her eating habits that I have seen. She has a great appetite, LOVES water. Over the
weekend we went out to try to get a little more of that bath thing done. We played water sprinkler with her and the
hose. She just loves to drink water. The right side of her face is definitely all cleaned up now. We also got back to
that back end of hers and she is now questioning why there was such a fuss afterall. She appeared to really love
getting all suddys up and scratched along her back. It was as if she was saying "ummm little to the right please".
We finished up with just the backside and will save the rest for the next time around. She did very good and didn't
get very scared this time. Maybe because things are still new to her and we were outside this time as opposed to
inside in the tub. She will be okay with it, just needs reassuring I think. I really don't think she ever has had a bath
and just didn't know what to make of it.

She did meet the new foster that came in. She doesn't like him much, but ... he is a bit bratty still and right now,
nobody likes him too much, not even my nutty Bailey. Cutie does just love my Bailey and Bailey loves her too. They
get along just great and enjoy being outside whether it be racing around or just lounging about
on a gorgeous day. I usually give Cutie her breakfast and supper outside. Then some snacks in her crate. I would
have to say that she would probably get along with other dogs just fine. She would also be fine being an only dog. I
can now leave her out in the yard alone with Bailey if I have something else to do. She knows enough to keep
herself out of trouble and is very friendly towards others. She is not a barker and is fine with cats. I know her time to
leave is coming soon. I'm trying to start thinking about that now. She will definitely be missed. I know Bailey has
really taken a liking to her and I know I have. She is going to make some very lucky family a wonderful boxer girl. I
have enjoyed seeing her grow in her short stay so far and know she will grow even more now that she is feeling
loved. I think it just took a few weeks for her to realize she was safe. I don't think wherever she was before was a
very good place. I think she is very happy now and it has made a huge difference for her. Funny.... Because I look at
her pictures and I can see a difference in her face and body. It is like she was very stressed and on edge before.
Her face has changed to a smile (I'm not kidding, she looks different) and her body... she just has a different
stance. She has a little like hop to her walk. I want to make sure she finds her forever home and that she never has
to go through bad times again. Please consider her for your home. She is just the sweetest little girl there is and
deserves the best that is out there. She has come a really long way and her little personality is coming out and she
is a very very sweet little girl who just wants somebody to really love her and give her the attention and love back that
she probably has never received. She deserves a great forever home and will repay that family with all the love she
has. Her time has come and I would prefer she move on before she??? gets too attached.

8/17/05 – Hi!  Cutie here.  My foster mom said I’ve been being such a good little girl I could really help her out
today by sending in an update on how things are going here in my foster home.  WELL!!!….. things are turning out
just GRRRRREAT!!  My foster mom is very proud of me that I still have not had any accidents in the house and she
says she is very pleased at how well I’m getting along with the resident cat and boxer.  She likes it that I donâ
€™t jump on people and that I’m such a quiet good little girl and that I’m just bursting with lots of love and
hugs and kisses.

Last night when she came home she had all kinds of bags of goodies for me!  We tried a new kibble that was just
scrumptious.  She said it was from all the folks out there that just love boxer girls and boys just like me.  I never
knew there were people out there that loved me so much.  What a wonderful feeling.

She also brought home a squeaky pig.  I just LOVE toys.  Especially if they make funny grunts and are soft and
cuddly.  Just like me!  I’m very cuddly and have been known to make a few grunts myself from time to time.  So
after a delicious supper and some run around time outside with my new brother, I came in and dug way down deep
in the basket to play.  I found lots and lots of toys and one by one I would take them out of the basket and flip them
up in the air and squish them all up and go back and get a different one and would do it all over again.  After that I
was completely pooped and decided to go back in my crate for a nice boxer girl nap for the night.

When we got up this morning we tried something called a bath.  This is new to me, but I watched my new brother
Bailey take one the other day.  I can’t say I really like them much, but I wanted to make my foster mom happy so
I tried to be good.  It was a little scary for me so my foster mom said we would just do parts for now and that I would
feel better the next time.  WHEW!!!  I was kinda glad that was over.  I decided to go straight back to my nice cleaned
out crate and woof down another bowl of that yummy kibble, second bowl for this morning, then take a snooze
before sending in my update for my foster mom.

I really like my foster home.  My foster brother is very nice and well Gus the cat is sorta okay.  I think he kinda likes
me.  The toys here are great and there are yummy treats, which I’m very careful to take them nice and gentle,
and I like looking forward to as many bowls of kibble as I want thanks to some very nice people out there.  The only
thing missing is my foster mom says I should have a forever home.  That sounds just too good to be true.
Somebody who loves me because I’m just the cutest, cuddliest boxer girl anywhere??  Could that be true?
Somebody who will love me forever and ever?  A family who will make sure I have a full belly and a warm bed
everyday and who will love me and be happy to see me everyday?  Is there really a place like that out there for me?
That would just make me the happiest little boxer girl anywhere.

My life so far has not been that great.  It has been scary for me.  Somebody just left me tied to a fence and I didnâ
€™t know what was going to happen.  Then they came and got me and I was in a big shelter place and it was noisy
and smelly and I couldn’t run around and play.  There were no toys to squish and the food wasn’t that
great.  Then somebody else came and got me and started telling me these stories about a forever home and there
would be one for me.  Little me!!

I just can’t wait!  Where are you?  I’m here?  Waiting very patiently for you to find me!!  Please, please hurry.
I have such great plans for us.  I dream every night of a family I can love.  I have been told I have a great personality.
I am smart.  People are always laughing at me so I guess I must be funny.  I know how to “sitâ€.  I know not to
jump on people.  I am also looking forward to learning so much more, that I always wanted to know, but nobody
showed me.  Please find me soon.  Just contact SCBR and let them know you are looking for a real “Cutieâ€
and they will know it is me!!  Until you call I will wait here for you.  Please hurry, I just can’t wait to find you…..

8/15/05 - Cutie is doing just great!  I think maybe she may need to be introduced to your household slowly.  I have
been doing that and getting GREAT results with it.  She is able to settle in at her speed.

She still has not had any accidents in the house, at all.  She is fine in her crate, fine with my cat Gus, fine with my
boxer Bailey, fine with me and with company, she seems to just love people, and she is just extremely cute
especially with some of her mannerisms (of which she has many little ways about her).  She has this way of
hopping??  When she runs around she just kinda has this hop walk.  I don’t know how else to describe it.  Very
light on her feet and gives the feeling she is happy-go-lucky walking on air and proud.  All the while she is just
wiggling that little backend from side to side.  She holds that tail of hers right up tall on her back and prances
around like she just is soooo happy to have been sprung from a shelter and back in a family setting again.  Talk to
her and she just looses it and the backend just uncontrollably goes from one side to the other with excitement that
you actually are paying attention to her.  I don’t think she received much positive attention in her past.  She is
very curious sniffing at everything new then hurriedly going on to the next exciting new thing.  She has gained many
privileges since her arrival and is very obliging to what she can and is not supposed to do.  Cutie has decided she
really likes chunks of cheese.

She seems very friendly towards my boxer and anxious to also to be friends with my cat Gus (who sets the limit as
to how good of friends he wants to be with fosters who come to vacation with us).  Cutie respects Gus’s
space.  My cat shows no fear of Cutie which tells me a lot.  In my house, we look at all evaluations including those
made by the resident cat and boxer bum.  I would say at this point Cutie would be fine with any resident cats you
may have.  She loves to run around with Bailey my boxer, but also doesn’t complain if she is out and about on
her own.  I left her in the back fenced in area, on purpose, for several hours by herself over the weekend.  Not a
peep out of her.  She sometimes will sit by the back slider and patiently wait for you to come let her in.  No
slobbering all over the glass or jumping up on it, she is a perfect young lady.  There have been a few times that she
has taken second seating to my boxer in getting my attentions and she was fine with that, but it is still early so we
just made sure she did get that attention despite her distance was greater than my boxers.

Another really nice thing about Cutie is she doesn’t jump up on you.  She will jump all around you, but not on
you.  You ask her to sit and she will and I think she knows down.  I think I am going to give her a little bath this week
for she has that shelter smell to her right now, which I have found to be typical of fosters coming in.  Not everybody
has the opportunity to use the finer boxer toiletries that are out there.  We will let you know how she does, but I donâ
€™t anticipate any problems other than getting whacked with that tail of hers a few hundred times every time I
mention her name.

I think the forever home that brings this little girl home is going to be pleasantly surprised.  She seems to be a very
easy keeper and very anxious to find her new family to share great times with.  Could you be that family she so
desperately is looking for?  Hurry and get your calls in, she is just the sweetest little bundle of joy anywhere to be
found and I don’t think she will be staying on long here in her foster home.

8/11/05 - As my luck has it, Cutie needed to move to another foster home and so she is now hanging out with me
and my boxer bum and Gus the cat. She will meet the neighbor children tonight. We were all very anxious to meet
this precious little girl. Gus our cat was sitting on the front stoop when we arrived home and she walked right up to
meet Gus, nose to nose, and there were absolutely no problems at all. Well... Gus did give Cutie his typical
welcome cuff, but Cutie just turned away and began her exploration of all the new things to see. Cutie didn't try to
chase Gus or act in anyway threatening to him so at this very early stage I would say Cutie might be just fine with
cats, not overly curious about them. She later had a short meeting with my boxer, who by the way gets VERY excited
meeting new fosters and probably scares half of them to death. There were no problems so far and believe me
sometimes I have to wonder about him. He was very happy to meet her and did his typical play bow thing
everywhere. We will see how they play together soon. I want Cutie to be completely comfortable the quickest way I
know how so everything will go slow.

There have been no accidents in the house and she doesn't mind her crate at all and is very obliging to my wishes,
wiggling the whole time. She spent a very quiet evening resting after her long day of new things. She seems to be a
very wiggly little girl and very happy-go-lucky despite her past. I can see from the paperwork that came with her that
she spent a very long time in a NY shelter and was about to be put to sleep. We all know most boxers do not do
well in shelters away from that homey kind of environment. She seems energetic, friendly, happy, and like she
might make for a very easy keeper. She has a very very cute little face and does the little head tilt thing when she is
thinking. She was very glad to find the basket full of toys we have and is anxious to earn her priviledges in her new
foster home so she can play more with them. She is just adorable. In spite of how great her pictures are, they still
just do not do her justice. She is simply adorable and the way she moves and does that little head tilt thing just
makes her all the cuter. She has a tail and she holds it kinda in a circle up over her backside and just kinda struts
around with a little smile, head held high and if you talk at all to her she just can't help that back end from swaying
all over the place. Probably happy to be enjoying a home, as opposed being tied to a fence or in a noisy shelter -
somewhere she can feel safe and she can see the other "kids" are happy. She could definitely go by either Cutie or
Sweetie. Will update soon on how she does. My first thoughts are that she is going to make a wonderful addition to
somebodies family. Yours??

8/4/05 - Cutie is like a puppy in many ways, she is not 100% housebroken yet but I think with a little patience and
time with her, she will do just fine! She has no idea how fetch and its kind of funny the looks she gives to you when
you throw her the ball but she loves chew toys and stuffed animals & will play with those for hours. I never really
crate trained any of the dogs I've had so I always thought it was cruel, but she seems to really like the crate and it
keeps her from having accidents during the night and she doesn't mind chilling in it when I go out. Also, this dog
prefers to hang outside, I let her out in the backyard and she stayed there willingly for hours while I did lawn work-
she is not a big barker either so if its a nice day I think she'd love to hang in a doghouse in your yard! The positives
about her, she loves people and follows my son everywhere. The negatives, I think she had to defend herself a lot
out there in Yonkers be cause she is very protective of her food with other dogs! I took her bowl away while she was
eating and that was perfectly okay with her but if my dog even goes near her while she is eating, she will snap at
him. The vet gave her a clean bill of health but said she could probably stand to gain a few pounds! I found out she
was already spayed and the shelter microchipped her before she left. If you have time for this poor pooch that has
had a pretty tough life, I am sure she will make a great new friend!

7/31/05 - "Cutie" arrived yesterday without a problem. I received a very detailed letter from one of the transport
people giving me some background on her so at least we have a little idea about this dog. She was originally found
strapped to a fence pregnant in a really bad area of Yonkers, NY and from what I hear they have a rep there for
organized dog fights so she was lucky the Shelter found her first! Poor pup! So far she has NOT been great with my
dog, shows a lot of agression towards her food and his for that matter so ideally she would probably do better as
an "only dog". With kids and people though, she is a sweetheart! My son is real "hands on" with the fosters and she
didn't seem to mind one bit. She loves the car and being outside. As far as her looks, this dog is SO adorable, she
is really petite could probably gain a few pounds and has natural tail & ears and a white patch over her right eye-so
cute! I will update after her spay and vet visit this week.
