Bella is having a little separation issues since Clara's passing.
Attache is a picture of Bella waiting for a treat.

UPDATE 10/14/11 - Hi everyone,
It has been some years ago that we embraced the love of Clara and Bella into our home.
I guess with all the memories we have enjoyed over these years, the opportunity to send pictures was set
on the back page.
Clara and Bella were the best with all the children that came through my family day care overthe 4 years I
was open after they arrived.
About three years ago I retired and we have just hung around our new place and yard. We often went to
the lake house until we sold it with the economy and all.
Clara and Bella aged very fast along with us and life was comfortable with everyone.
Last year Bella started showing signs of cushings desease but test was neg. This year, however, the test
came back positive and we are still in the process of getting her balanced on medication. Her severe
arthritis in her hind legs does not stop her from having fun in the yard. She does tucker out though and
takes long naps through the day. Me too!
Clara has done well even though she was being watched for a heart condition and a stomach reflux. So
far so good with all test on her heart. She surely ran faster than I knew any dog could run.
A year ago she developed some problems in her hind legs. The vets treated it as an injury first and things
looked good. Several months later she started the signs again but by this time we did not do extensive
tests. If it was another injury or the start of maybe cancer the treatment would be the same for her age
being almost 10 yrs old,so we put her on daily medication and she was doing great. Tried not to let her
run too fast which was hard at times.
They both had great senior check ups about 6 months ago. Just their medication routine would continue
until the next visit.
About a week ago some symptoms started in Clara again and it was hard for us to get her to take her
medication faithfully.  By Monday the holiday we called the vets. Clara was drinking so she was not
dehydrated but she would eat. We assumed that it was a stomach thing and made an appointment for
Tuesday.
By tuesday Clara would not walk to get her drinks or to go outside, so we had to carry her every
where.  We made it to the vets. After an exame they took ex-ray and echo test to make sure the heart
problem had not changed.  The test passed with flying colors but Clara was still not doing well.
Since her meds were not up to the degree she should have taken over the week we decided that a good
boost of the medicatin by injection and rest for the night just might be the answer.
We went home. Things did not get better.  Most of that night I layed beside her because she was crying
in low sounds. I would pat her while saying prayers for her hurt to subside. Even though through the
crying during that time she would raise her head and look at me an also take water from me.
Sometime after 1am, she was resting quietly, I went into my bed beside hers and I must have dozed off.
I woke by 6 and realized she was still laying still so I got up and then I new. She passed over the bridge
into heaven sometime between 1:00 and 6:00 am Wedneday morning October 13th 2011.
My heart was not expecting her to leave, since just a week or two ago she was doing so well. It is still so
vivide that I see her following me throughout the house. Her big brown eyes were always her
communication to me. We had that "special" thing together.
Now, Bella, seems a little lost.  She now follows me around the house and we have that "special" thing of
communication that hangs on to remind us of Clara.
I am sending the last picture I took of the girls together last week.
Now, Bella and I will play in the yard and take our naps with Clara's spirit in our hearts.
Thank you for giving me such terrific friends 7 years ago.
God Bless you all

UPDATE 9/15/05 - Hi all, I am not sure that I owe ya all an update but thought I would let lya know that
the girls are ok. Bella has put on a few lbs. Clara is still at a good weight. Do you remember the Goldie
my son got well he is 5 months old and weighs in at 65 lbs. He stands as tall as Clara and Bella. They still
tolerating his puppiness, though. Clara and Bella went through obedience classes. Well lets put it this way
they watched the other dogs learning. The instructor and I agreed that it is a good desentatizing method.
I have not been able to get them to accept any other dogs coming near them.  I am hopping with another
course I will be able to at least have them pass dogs in the street without trying to pull me at them. Has
anyone any ideas , I sure could use them I keep asking my hubby to get the pictures for me to send, but
bing in realestate, the house pictures come first. We are taking the girls up to the lake house this
weekend. It will be the first time for them staying over. I hopw they will be able to settle down.  Clara
does get a bit more separation anxiety when I have to leave for awhile and that is even when she has the
rest of the family around. Clara still waits for me to reside to bed. Clara still takes the whole bed so Bella
has to sleep on the blanket next to the bed, but Clara some how lets her in during the night.
Well just a short info for now.

UPDATE 7/4/05 - Hi All, My Gosh! I can't believe it has been almost 3 months with the girls. They are
'old hats' at this family thing now. Bella is getting a little too 'heavy' I feel. We will have to weigh her this
week. I not sure if I told you that my son got a Goldie. He is cute but mischeivous. Bella put him in his
place. She showed him who was boss the first week here. Let see it has been almost 5 weeks now. Poor
Clara, though, she gets the worst of it. Dunkin (as my granddaughter says 'Dunkin Donut') hangs on to
Clara's neck. We have to constantly hold her close to keep him away. Outside its fine, Clara can sure
run!!! Bella isn't so bad either even with her arthritic knee. I saw no difference in her walking with the
meds or without them, so for now I voted without. I do not want to give her the meds just because. I do
want to ask the vet if I can do anything for her if I do think she has had alot of exercise and that it may be
soar. I was thinking of some kind of message or warm soaks. I know my fibromyalgia gets some relief
with warm soaks. I have to watch the eating schedule every day. Dunkin wants the girls food and Bella
wants Dunkins. There is alot of bowl switching through the meals. Dunkin goes home at night and I am
sure the girls 'thank the Lord' for that. The girls are really funny about bed time. I usually am up late.
When they are ready or tired of waiting for me, Clara mostly will walk over to the stairs and then lool at
me. I have to say 'Ok, go on, up to bed. She will start up and look at me again. So I repeat and she
finally goes. When I do get upstairs, Clara has hogged the whole dog bed. One night, Bella scared me.
Well this has happen twice. I finally learned her trick. My husband after checking things outside came in
and headed for the upstairs. Clara had already gone up, as I thought Bella did too. When I went upstairs,
I saw Clara in the bed, but no Bella. I panicked thinking she has gone outside with Bill and did not come
in. So I started to go to the stairs calling her name. My husband at that time said 'here she is'. She was
under our bed. The first time I did not realize she was under the bed because as I went for the stairs she
just showed up behind me. But now I know. Every night, on my husband's side of the bed you usually
can see a nose, or a foot, or a tail peeking out from under the bed skirt. I really don't know how she
manages to get under there. but in the middle of the night I usually will see her snuggled up with Clara in
the dog bed. even though they arevery close, I tend to see more and more independence with each other
of certain things through the day. Bella still likes to take treats away from Clara. While Bella is taking
Clara's treat,Dunkin is taking Bella's treat. It usually goes on this way with toys, cheweys, etc. Dunkin
now tries to lay on Bella just like Clara. It is very funny to see. One more story. Bella was stretched out
across the playroom floor. One of our 1 yr olds who walks but hesitantly waddled over to Bella. Turned
around and sat on her back. She held her self with her hands against a gate and rocked her body back
and fourth. Bella laid there and seemed like she was enjoying it. We just watched. But when this child
decided to move upon Bella's head and Bella still laid there we had to laugh. We rescued Bella, but BOY
was she patient with the little one. I missed my training date so I have to book another. I do believe that
they need some social because they tend to be a little pushy when in the pet stores and Vets. We sill
haven't been social with our neighbor. Well Bella loves to tease him, I think. One night Bella went out
with Bill to put gabage in the barrels. When Bill turned around Bella was darting for Luke's yard and him.
Bella stopped but just stayed right in Luke's yard. Of course, Luke took off. Bella is the one who bit him
in the rear the first time. Clara on the other hand runs around the house whining when Luke is out. I am
waiting for awhile but maybe she will be acceptance of Luke. I'll let ya know how that goes. We spent a
night up at the lake. We are still looking for a place to buy. The fist place we were going for had a change
in the neighborhood agreement contract? It had beach rights and the neighbors complained because it
was through the side of their yard, so they went to court and took away the rights to the water. That put
that out of the choices for us. I need to have a place where my mother can enjoy also. I keep looking for
one that you can at least see the water so that my mom can see the water and enjoy it that way. At 86 it
is a little hard of her to have to keep walking down to a beach. It is also a little comfusing when we have
four adults trying to decide on the house. If any of you here of a place will ya let me know. I guess we
will have to rent again for this summer. I had to leave the girls and Dunkin at home, but my neice who
works with me in daycare came and stayed with my mom and the girls and Dunkin. I was hoping by now
to have a place so the girls would come with us. I tried real hard for a weekend place that is 'Pet
Friendly'. but by the time we realized we were not going to get that house we wanted, all the 'pet friendly'
motels etc. were booked. Well we ended up just us going. I also want to be able to slowly teach the girls
about the boat my son has so they can join us on there also. I don not wnat to frighten them. So it may be
next summer before we can be together every weekend. That's a 'bummer' Oh, well Bella just got herself
up off the mat and headed for the stairs. I know now where she will be---under the bed. Sorry this is so
long. I am still waiting for my husband to take the digital pictures. Or should I send in just plain old
pictures? How do you get the pictures on your web site? Till again Love from all here

UPDATE 5/22/05 - Clara and Bella have found the security of being in a family life again. Having a
daycare in my home has given them lots of attention and love. At first they were stand offish to the adults
coming in, but now they greet everyone with their boxer wiggle. Clara grabs what ever she can find(my
slippers, her toys, or sometimes a ball) over to the chldren and parent's feet just to say 'Let's play'. On
the other hand Bella just wants all the patting she can get. They have become so comfortable with all here
that they know what the schedule for the daycare routine is and they follow it. If the children are getting a
snack, they wait patiently for theirs. When we are going out they seemed to line up with the children. At
nap time they find their place on the playroom floor right next to the older children sleeping. Matter of
fact, they sometimes will share the mat with a child. Bill and I have wanted a particular bush removed
from the yard and the girls are helping. They have been playing 'catch me' with each other that they are
forming a dug out cicle around the bush. They have learned very well where to do their rountine toileting,
Sometimes Bella does not make it to the exact spot. We don't mind since we found out at the vets that
she has sever arthritis in both knees. The vet said probably from an old injury that may have not been
treated properly. We have her on remidyl for discoumfort and on that joint vitamin which seems to give
her some relief. Especialy after Clara bugs her to run and run through the yard. Boy can Clara run! We
have seen the vets two times since the girls have come home. They want to do an ultra sound on Clara
because of the heart murmur. Just a base for later on if the murmur get worse. Bella will have to have
blood work done for the medication she takes. They try to stare down the other dogs that come in the
vets while waiting their turn. We need to have some social time with other dogs which we will address at
our obedience class in June. I am off work for 6 weeks and will be able to give alot of attention to their
learning. Bella comes immediately when called but Clara tends to take her time. The other task we will
work on is 'loose leash'. They are good at staying within our yards boundaries which we practice every
day while out. They are loving the romping through the grass with the children. The children are loving
chasing them. The girls love to ride. Matter of fact, we have had them jump into our daycare parent's
cars when they come to pick up their children. It is a funny site to see. We have taken rides to the lake in
New Hampshire. I am hoping that they are going to enjoy riding in the boat on the lake as well. Clara
loves to cuddle with someone. If one of my helpers in the daycare goes to sit on the rocking chair, Clara
gets the top part of her body on their lap while her rear is on the floor and falls asleep. The must think she
is one of the babies. They both love to have their bellies rubbed also. They saw the cat next door but it
didn't seem to bother them. They listened very well to stay with me. This cat always liked to tease
Sabastian, our last boxex. I am sure she is still wanting to tease again. So far so good, though in that area.
We are still trying to get the girls together with our neighbors German Shepherd, Luke. The first initial
meeting ended up with some nipping, so Luke is afraid of the girls and I feel that they know this and is
taking advantage of the situation. Hopefully I will be able to invistigate the know how to get them together
in our class. Bella is alsways cleaning Clara. She has taken on the mother instincts. Clara lies there
enjoying it all. Clara is more of the puppy type wanting to have fun and play all the time. They still lie very
close to each other sometines Clara is on top of Bella. I am not sure that it is a dominant stance or just a
security trait. Bella doesn't seem to mind but sometimes I feel like Clara is hurting her hind legs that have
the arthritis. I am sure the girls will give us many more years of love and laughter, But I do not have to tell
any of you that. I will send in pictures soon. Thank you for the oportunity to give our love to these girls.

4/24/05 - Clara & Bella went to their new home together!

4-22-05 The girls are ready to go to their forever home. They are looking at me with their big brown
eyes as if to say “When? When will our forever family find us? We want somebody to look at us the
same way you look at your forever boxer. Will it be soon? They are both healthy and playful and full
of wiggles, get along with other dogs that they have met so far as well as with each other. They are good
with children and they listen well and will come to their names. Clara has learned to “sit and will
drop instantly for the hopeful chance peanut butter is somewhere near. Bella knows “crate and
will protect you from nasty rakes if need be. They are both just adorable sweet little girls who really
deserve a family of their own to love. They are waiting for that family to find them. Please call soon…

4-14-05 – The girls are still here?? I just can’t understand it. They are such easy keepers. They
spent last weekend running and jumping and playing in the backyard while I was trying to do some
yardwork. They just had a ball out there. I did discover that Bella has issues with my rake. She was so
funny. She would bark and jump around and do circles. I don’t think she likes my rake. Clara would
just look at her like “Bella it is just a rake then she would come over and give it a good sniff just
to make sure. The girls continue to do very well here, but they are both anxious to get into their forever
homes. They are both just the prettiest girls you’ve ever seen. They get along perfectly with each
other as well as other dogs. They are very playful, but at the same time very well behaved in the house.
Clara has “sit under her belt and Bella knows “crate and will stubbornly “sit for a
peanut butter treat. They are both just full of wiggles when I get home and they both do this stomping
dance!

4-6-05 – I am so surprised Clara & Bella are still here.  They are just such good little girls.  They are
both very easy keepers so it is easier for me, but they really do want to have their own forever homes.
We all ventured out this past weekend for a little walk in the woods.  They just really enjoyed
themselves.  Of course now that the snow is almost all gone and the weather getting warmer they have
really been enjoying going outside to play.  It is so much fun to just watch how they all play and chase
each other around.  It looks like they are just having so much fun.  They just get so excited out there.
They keep the rough stuff for outside.  In the house they will play but not near as hard as they do
outside.  Sometimes watching how much fun they all have it just makes me wish I were a boxer.

Weight wise they are both doing very well.  Even Clara who was quite skinny when she first arrived is
just about the right weight now.

They have been doing better with the cat.  Or maybe I should say that they are listening to my opinion on
the subject better now.  They know I don’t like them to chase the cat and I think Gus has gotten his
opinion on the matter through to them also.  They would probably be better off in a home where there
are no cats.  They are both fine with my boxer.  Other dogs would be just fine with these two.  I have not
seen any jealousy issues.  Everyone just gets along great.  They just love the dog bed that is in back of
my couch.  They spend a lot of time there.

They will come to you when you call them.  Clara is so funny.  Since she has learned the word “sitâ
€ she now will sit for anything.  She thinks if she “sitsâ€ while I’m making supper that maybe
she can share with me.  She is such a little sweetheart.  Bella just gets soooo excited when you come
home after work.  She just wiggles everywhere.  It is so nice to come in the door to such a welcome.
Wiggles everywhere, but no jumping.  Just lots and lots of wiggles.

They will tell you when they want something.  Just stare at you, until you respond to them.  Then when
you ask them “out “do you want to go outside they will just dance a little circle as if to
say.  Yeah!  That’s it.  You got it! Or we just finished that bowl of food, got some more?

They are both very very sweet little girls.  They appear to be very healthy and are all up-to-date on
everything.  Get along very well with other dogs.  They appear to be fine with children.  They just love
each other to pieces and are able to keep each other occupied when I’m busy doing something.
They have not gotten themselves into any trouble and are happy to just play with their toys and not get
into anything of mine.  They are able to stay in their crates while I’m at work during the day…..

So why are they still here??  My luck I guess.  They are just so easy…. I must have just needed the
break.  But I’m ready for a challenge now so get your call in soon.  They will be going on a BRAD
with me and Bailey this weekend so they are going to be going very shortly.  So get your call in now,
before it is too late.  The one word that best describes these two is “Sweetâ€.  These two are just
the sweetest little girls ever.  You think the pictures are cute, you should see them.  Those pictures just
don't do them justice.  They are just adorable.  So get your call in now, before it is too late and
somebody else gets them before you do.

3-29-05 - Tee hee hee hee, Clara here. My sister Bella took my crate this morning so I got to be in the
one nearer to the computer today.  Well, thought since our foster mom hasn't been feeling that great
lately, I would send in an update. I like to be helpful whenever I can.  Everything has been going just
great, except surprisingly we are still here. Saturday was a very big day. We all got to go to the Vets
office. Even Bailey came. Have I mentioned that Bailey likes me the best. I caught him winking at me and
he is always wiggling and I know it is because of me. Anyways.... so off to the vets we all went. I was the
brave one and went first for everything. We made sure we were all up-to-date on all our shots and got
what they call a Heartworm Test. Luckily for both of us we both came out negative. Our foster mom and
Bailey were really happy about that. Then we talked about weight. You know that Bella is always eating.
The vet said she was just perfect.  So I'm thinking she should just give me all her treats for now on. The
vet said that although I am a little more on the slender side, all those extra treats must be working
because the he said we were both very healthy girls and ready to go off to our forever homes. So after
going to the vet we had to stop at the store to pick up more kibble for Bailey and oh yes, more treats.
Me and Bella stayed in the car and let Bailey and our foster mom go in. We were both good girls and
keep an eye on the car while they were gone. Both me and Bella just love to go in the car. Our foster
mom thinks we are both very good girls. She tells us all the time. We are also told all the time that we are
very sweet. We are both very pretty little girls, course I am a little cuter as you can tell from our pictures,
I'm the one on the left, but Bella is cute also.  I know that Bailey will miss us when we are gone, but we
are very anxious now to move on to our forever home. So what are you waiting for? Better get your call
in soon. We won't be here very long you know. We are just perfect little boxer sisters. We get along
very  well with each other and other dogs. We are very well behaved and only play with things that are
ours. We do need some work on how to down and stay but we are both very smart. I'm a little smarter
because I now know what "sit" means and Bella is still working on that. Actually I think she knows, but
likes the extra attention. We are getting better with Gus the cat, but our foster mom thinks it might be
better if we went to a forever home that maybe didn't have a cat. Children would be fine though. We are
both very gentle. So please..... give us a call soon. We have come an awful long way to find our forever
home and we are very much looking forward to you coming to get us soon. We like it here, but are so
much looking forward to giving lots of wiggles and kisses in our own forever home. Somewhere that is
truly ours forever and ever.

3-23-05 - HI!  I'm Bella.  I'm the cute one on the right of the pictures and I just know our new foster
brother Bailey likes me best.  I thought I would hop on the computer and send in an update on how
things are going here in NH.  My sister Clara and I have been learning lots of new things.  Our foster
mom is teaching us "sit".  I really don't see the point.  My foster mom thinks I'm a little more stubborn
than my sister. It's not that as much as it's just I have a reputation to think about since I am the leader.
Don't want to be thought of as just a big pushover.  My sister Clara just falls for it everytime.  "Sit" and
down she goes.  I like to think about it a little bit.  Check out the options.  Then I don't know what
happens, my butt goes down and I'm suddenly enjoying a scrumptious peanut butter treat.  Maybe if I do
this more often then you will call sooner?  Opps here comes our foster mom...I better go for now.

- Hi, Clara and Bella continue to do very well.  They have appointments to be heartworm tested in a few
weeks.  Their Vets office is very busy this time of year.  They will call me if an appointment opens up
sooner.  Clara continues to eat a little more to try to put on some needed weight.  Bella doesn't need to
put on as much.  Clara is doing just wonderful with learning to "sit".  She really is a smart little girl and the
more affectionate of the two.  Bella is doing better at learning "sit".  These two girls just are such little
ladies.  Although they don't know all their commands they are very well behaved.  No getting into things
that are not theirs.  They are perfectly content to play with toys in the basket, chew on the numerous
bones around here or their favorite thing to do is sleep together on this dog bed in back of the couch.
They spend a lot of time there.  During the day they are crated until I return from work.  Then upon my
return from work they are full of wiggles and go outside to take care of business and get in a little running
around and rougher play.  No accidents except for the one when they first came.  They are still very very
curious about the cat Gus.Bella a little more so, but they listen when I tell them "No".  Bella will still take
things away from Clara so it will be important for their forever home to keep an eye out on that to make
sure Clara gets what she needs also.  Yesterday, Clara found a bone she wanted to chew on and I had
to keep getting it back from Bella who kept stealing it away from her sister who willingly gives in.  Other
than that, these two are very easy keepers.  They will need to be obedience trained, but they are getting
started and doing very well.  They get along just fine with my boxer right from the start.  We will be
looking forward to hearing from you.  Better make arrangements now.  These two girls are not going to
be here long.  The word that still describes these two the best remains to be "Sweet".  They are just very
very sweet.

3-21-05 – HI!  Let me introduce myself, I’m Clara.  I have a sister named Bella and we have
quite the story to tell you.  It all began one day when me and my sister Bella decided to break out of the
Shelter down in PA to begin a search for a forever home.  Bella and I have always been very close
sisters since we were born.  So bright and early one morning we made the big breakout and when we got
outside….. to our surprise there was a car waiting there just for us.  We got in and started our journey
getting to meet lots of nice people along the way and see all the sights.  After a short stayover for a
wonderful supper of yummy nibbles and treats we packed up a few bones and continued our journey til
we finally ended up at a house in NH where there was a handsome prince named Bailey who was also a
boxer like us and he said we could stay at his house til we found our forever home.  There was also a
Foster Mom who said she would love to have us come stay with her for a little while and she told us all
about a rescue just for boxer sisters just like us.  She said we could even find a forever home where we
could stay together, to our great relief.  So tired from our journey we decided to snuggle up on a dog bed
made just for petite little boxer girl twins to wait for you to call.  We just know that we won’t have to
wait very long.  Surely there is some wonderful family out there that is looking for two sweet little brindle
boxer sisters that are always just full of wonderful wiggles just for them.

Hi! I’m Clara and Bella’s foster mom and Clara and Bella are just the sweetest little brindle girls
you have ever seen.  They just love each other to pieces.  They arrived last Saturday in search of their
forever home.  Clara and Bella will both need to go to the vet just to make sure they are all up to date
and ready for their new home.  They appear very healthy and very sweet.  Although they are not trained,
they are very willing and do know the word “Noâ€.  They look like mirror images except in weight
and just a few slight differences in white markings.  Clara is a little skinny, but we will get her up in her
weight.  Bella seems to be slightly more dominant of the two and has a better appetite.  They both love
peanut butter and it is very obvious they are very close to each other.  Will get to know them a little
better and send in an update again soon.  I don’t think these two will be here very long so give us a
call soon.
