UPDATE 8/10/05 - The day my wife and I picked up Chester there were immediate positive signs he
would work out with are family. Chester came in the room to meet us and sat right down in my wife's
lap. He made her an instant believer. Chester traveled well also. He prefers the back seat and really
seamed to enjoy the ride. Once we arrived home he immediately made him self comfortable. We were
concerned about introducing him to our 1 1/2 year old female boxer Lizzie but soon realized things
would be OK. Chester acts as though he has been with are Family since birth. We were expecting a 6
month adjusting period but after the first week things appeared to be settled. Lizzie and Chester act
like bother and sister. Lizzie is the more energetic one and Chester complements her well by being the
more reserved. Lizzie is happy to be with Chester she no longer sleeps on the bed with one of our
children but prefers to sleep at Chester's side on the floor next to my be
d. They are never apart. After observing them building trust in each other we now let them spend the
day together with limited access to rooms in the house. It's nice to be welcomed home by energetic
wiggles. They bring our family so much joy watching them play together, there is plenty of 'boxing' and
tug of war with toys. They also spend allot of time exploring in the woods of our fenced in yard.
Chester likes to chase squirrels and birds! At times a little too enthusiastically, at the cost of two
screened doors so far but were working on that. We also found that he doesn't like to be surprised by
strangers in the house, something we need to be very careful of. Chester otherwise been very well
behaved. Chester has been on a few hikes. Chester loves the woods but always keeps near to us.
Chester has had some troubles crossing streams and prefers to be carried over the sections he not
sure of. Chester is also a very good camper. We spent three days camping in the NH White Mo
untains with tents to sleep in. One day we went for a swim and he
on a dry rock in the river watching us. We also took Chester and Lizzie with us on our vacation to
Old Orchard Beach in Maine. We found a Pet Friendly motel and brought both of them. Chester
loves to dig in the sand and roll around in the hole. We laughed plenty at how much he covered
himself with sand. We all Love Chester and are thankful to Second Chance Boxer Rescue for placing
him with us and can't imagine how such a good boy could have been abandoned. I think Lizzie would
be lost without him.

6/25/05 - Chester has been adotped!

06/22/05 - Well Chester is long over due for an update. This boy is awesome. He has completely
healed from his neuter. He is up to date on all his shots and has gained some much needed weight. He
looks great. New pictures to follow. Chester is cratetrained and housebroken. He is good with all the
other dogs. Chester loves to play. He loves to have a ball in his mouth. He has even learned that if he
brings it back you will play longer. He will chase it and chase it. When he is done he will bring the toy
in his crate with him. He also loves to play tug. If you don't play with him he will throw the toy around
himself and entertain himself.

Chester has also learned how to climb out of the fence. He only does it when we are on the other side
and then he runs right up to us. He doesn't take off, he just wants to be with us. Today when he
decided he wanted to be on the deck with us my 3 and 5 year old cousins were here. He really
seemed to like them and kept trying to get their attention. Chester likes to be with people. He is a
happy, playful boy that deserves a home of his own. Do you have a great home for this boy?

05/31/05 - Poor Chester has been to long without an update. He is doing well. He finally had his
surgery and was neutered as well as having a couple of bumps removed. We are waiting on the results
of those. Chester is a sweet boy that deserves a home of his own. He gets along with other dogs but I
would say a big no to cats. He is great with the older kids, (haven't meet any young ones). He loves
riding in the car and thinks he is one special guy when he gets to go. He loves walks and hanging out
with his people. Chester is totally cratetrained and doesn't mind his crate at all. He will bark outside if
he is by himself. Chester is finally putting on some weight and ready for a family of his own.

05/08/05 - Chester went to the vets on friday. He was up dated on his shots and had a heartworm
test. He weighed in at 54 pounds and Dr.Weber felt he was around 4.The vet felt he needed to put on
at least 15 pounds. He is rather thin Chester was not able to get his neuter as he had a little cough and
they wanted to wait until that went away. We have learned that Chester loves to play. When he gets
out of his crate he instantly starts looking for a toy. He loves to play fetch, tug o war or just chase me.
He is super playful and active. Chester has had no accidents in the house and is wonderful in his crate.
Once he finishes his vet care he will need a family that is looking for a playful, happy boy. He does
need some work on being easy and not jumping when he gets excited. Chester is going to make
someone a wonderful companion. Could it be you??

05/01/05 - Chester arrived today from our favorite NJ Shelter. He is a super cute fawn boy with
cropped ears and a docked tail. He traveled well in the car and was friendly with everyone that he
met. He needs to have a check up at the vets and be neutered. We will update you as we get to know
him.
