CHANCE

UPDATE 12/15/08 - It has been a while since we have updated on how Chance has touched our
lives.  He was our first boxer. Chance loved to play with his owners daughters. We all have only
the best memories of Chance. He was always so energetic and loving. Chance was the most loyal
companion a close family could ask for.  Chance had the biggest tongue and gave the best kisses.
Chance loved to box with his master Ken and followed him around outside.
Chance loved to play with his squeaky toys, purchased with love by his caring mother Claire.
When we took our annual camping trip to Sebago Lake, Grammy took special care of Chance.
Chance liked to think he was Alyssa's boyfriend. He liked to sit on her whenever she took a seat
on the rug.
Amanda remembers relaxing on the rug with Chance.  He sure liked to snuggle =]
Chance always loved our summer vacations.  He had the time of his life.  Alexis thinks about
Belgrade Lakes when Chance got to swim and fetch sticks in the water.
Abby remembers he loved Christmas mornings, when he got to try out all his new toys, such as his
new squeaky bones and his and her cell phones for him and his boxer buddy Sugar.
Unfortunately, Chance passed away on August 4, 2008. But, not before he took an amazing trip to
Bar Harbor, Maine with the entire family. We knew Chance was sick before we left for Bar Harbor,
we felt he deserved one more rendezvous with the family he kept so alive for the three years he
spent with us.  Ashley and Jake recall all the special times with Chance while in Bar Harbor.  He got
to travel to the top of Cadillac mountain to see the sunrise , Echo Lake, Thunder Hole, and
Schoodic Point. Also, taking walks to the corner store with us to get snacks and other necessities.
We miss Chance very much and he is always with us in spirit. No dog could ever replace Chance.
He is and was one of a kind. Chance certainly was a special dog who touched all our hearts.
We will always love you Chance.  Pepere St. Pierre will take good care of you in heaven.

UPDATE 8/20/05 - Chance has been with us for a little over a month now.  All of us think he's the
cutest dog in the whole wide world.  This is our first boxer and we couldn't be happier
that we decided to do this.  Chance has been so busy since being with us.  Let's see; he's
been annoying the cats, rips open his soft toys (Mom's done a lot of hand sewing lately),
has inherited two large floor pillows as his own, loves to play fetch with the frisbee, runs
circles around the yard and oh yeah, dad says, he ain't ever seen a dog eat or drink so
messy in his life!!  We learned all of this about Chance during week one.  It's a wonder we
decided to take Chance with us on our family vacation on week two.  We were going to stay
at a camp in Belgrade Lakes for the week and weren't sure if it was a good idea to bring him.
Afterall it had only been a week since we got him and I'm sure we didn't know everything
there was to know about him.  But we just couldn't imagine having him kenneled.  We are so
glad that we decided to take him.  He was such a good boy.  No really he was.  He just loves
people, so it was perfect for him as we went with 9 other relatives and a Bassett Hound.  It
really was a fun week!
We try to take him with us whenever possible as we know how much he loves people and how
much he loves every one of his new family members.  He has 8 new family members who adore
him and who he adores in return.  I think he has finally found his forever home 0:-)

UPDATE 7/18/05 - We have only had Chance for a little over 24 hours, but it feels like he's been
part of our family forever. Chance loves to be with people, plain and simple, and there's plenty of
that to go around in our family of 8. He's a very fun loving; sweet, sweet boy. He's adapting very
well to his new environment. Since he's been with our family, he's chased Dad on the tractor,
played frisbee with Mom and one of the kids, he's played under the sprinkler, he's sat on one of
our teenager's...apparently he just couldn't get close enough to her. He took nicely to his new
sleeping arrangements with the two youngest children and loves his new squeeky toy. As far as
other pets, well, he just wants to play...but the two cats they just don't understand. So far he's
chased one up the tree and one on top the roof. I think the cats will have to learn to get along
and work together when it comes to Chance:) We are all so happy to have Chance as part of our
family! Can't wait to get home from work so I can see what Chance has been up to today.

7/17/05 - Chance has been adopted!

7/10/05 - Chance is our a return guest to the Thunder and Lightening Boxer Retreat, we had Chance her about 2
years ago.  He was returned to rescue recently due to a change in the family situation they felt that they could no
longer give Chance the home he deserved.   Chance is now about 4 years old and a very handsome boy. He is
good with kids and other dogs, not sure about cats. Chance is settling in nicely again. He is a very large brindle boy
with a heart of gold. I'll update Chance again in a couple of days after we get reaquainted. If you are interested in
this boy get that application in quick he won't be with us for long I'm sure.
