UPDATE 12/25/05 - Bonk continues to impress us and become part of our family. He's a patient, loyal, and loving
dog.
Our only issues with Bonkers are the every-other-day accidents he has in the house. We'd rather not crate him
during the day, but we may have to if the accidents continue.
We're three weeks away from finishing Basic Obedience, and he's doing quite well. Thank you for pairing us with
Bonkers. He's wonderful.

UPDATE 11/15/05 - I can't tell you how happy we are to have Bonkers living with us.  He's been with us for three
weeks now, but it seems like he's always lived here.  Bonkers fits in with our family perfectly.  He doesn't seem
totally happy until all of us are home; I'll come home from work to take him for a walk before going to pick up my
daughter at school, and he won't stop pacing until we've gone to get her (he loves to come for the car ride).  He's
still not satisfied until my husband comes home, too.  As each one of us comes through the door he gives the best
wiggles and hops.  Once we've gone for a walk or had some playtime in the backyard he's perfectly happy to
cuddle on the couch with us.
Bonkers has had a few accidents since he's been here - he seems to need to go outside at indecent hours of the
morning - but that has improved as he's adjusted to living with us.  We've taken him to the vet and begun treatment
for slight ear and eye infections - he's not so happy about the ear washing, but actually is pretty patient while we
apply the eye ointment.  In a couple of weeks we start obedience training.  We know he'll catch on quickly since he
already knows several commands - he even listens to my three year old when she tells him to sit; it's very cute.
We love having Bonkers as a memeber of our family, and I'm so glad SCBR paired us up with him.

10/22/05 - Bonkers has been adopted!

10/9/05 I picked up Bonkers from Yonkers (thanks Liz!!)  at yesterday's very wet Boxer Blast in CT!  What a doll!
Bonk is just the sweetest boy anyone could ask for. He is just a little guy, on the skinny side right now too, but he is
very cute and already knows many things. He showed off nicely for everyone by sitting, laying down, giving paw and
walking well on a leash. He likes to be hugged and give kisses. He met some other dogs at the Blast and was
fine. He is pretty good in a crate, but does fuss when he knows we are near, so we will continue to work on that. He
also is a bit of a counter surfer, so we will work on that as well. He rode well in the car. I'll have him at the vets this
coming week to update his shots.

We all debated about Bonk's age because he seems very young, but after looking at his teeth and observing his
general behavior, I am guessing he is between 2-3 years old. He acts a lot like my three year old male.

Poor Bonk, he went for a midnight dip in my swimming pool when we got home last night in the pouring rain.
Luckily he can swim and I hauled him up and dried him off. It didnt seem to bother him too much, and he liked
being dried by the hair dryer. Bonk came from a shelter, but I think he was someone's much loved pet at some
point.
