4/20/05 - Baxter's foster family fell in love instantly & decided he did not need to move anywhere else
to have his new home!  Congratulations Baxter & to your new family!

4/19/05 - Baxter arrived on Saturday with no problems! He is a young looking almost 10 yr old fella,
very sweet and well taken care of. He spent most of Saturday outside basking in the sun with my 7yr
old dog Draco while I worked in the garden. He must be on a leash at all times though because he is a
runner! After chasing him down the road the few times my son let him out I learned that fact! Also he
lived in a rural area because he ran right out into traffic with no fear- ugh!

After spending a long weekend with him, I noticed that he has some trouble with stairs, especially
walking down them! He may have a little arthritis on his left side but will confirm that with the vet. He
still has a lot of spunk left in him for his age and he can run fast! I think someone stayed home with
him all the time because he was not very happy when I left him for a few hours yesterday and was
agitated this morning when I got ready for work. He was an older woman's baby and she had to
surrender him due to her impending nursing home admission so he is very gentle with everyone and
gets along great with my dog. He is a funny dog, has a ton of personality and gives good kisses and is
happy to follow you around the house, loves being outside and loves his walks. He had attended
obedience training in 2002 so he is familiar with commands but not that great on a leash, luckily he
doesn't weigh much so he is easy to control! All in all Baxter would make a great pet, he is a beautiful
fawn with a black mug and very petite. Pictures to follow and I will update as we get to know him.
