UPDATE 9/23/04 - I figured I would take a minute to let everyone in SCBR land
know how "Wrigs" is doing. Wrigley is doing just fabulously. He has really grown
comfortable with our family and our other boxer. They are just like human siblings
now. They play together all the time, are the best of friends, but occasionally still get
into little fights over toys. He has been exercising constantly since June and is now in
very good shape. He is very fast, but sti  not quite as coordinated as our 4 year old.
He has had to go back into the crate while we are not home as he has had a few
seriously destructive episodes. But by and large his behavior has gotten better and
better all the time. He is a ton of fun to have around and we are enjoying having him in
our home. Thanks again for your help in finding him for us.

UPDATED 6/10/04 - Just wanted to leave you a quick note to let you know
everything is going very well with Wrigley. He is a very funny little boy and so far has
been a joy to have in our home. He and Victoria (our female) have tested each other
a little, and she was allowing him to establish dominance until he tried to go into "her"
sandbox. That is where she drew the line. They snapped at each other a few times
and took the better part of the first two days to figure each other out. She has since
established herself as the more dominant dog and although they still go back and forth
once in a while, it now seams like they are getting used to each other and are actually
playing quite a bit outside in the yard. He is very well behaved for a 10 month old
boxer. He listens fairly well, and seems to have no desire to run away at all. In fact,
he prefers to be inside the house and we actually have to coax him into coming
outside to play.  If given the choice he will usually sit at the front or back step until he
is allowed back in the house.
He is extremely head shy, and if you raise your voice to him he becomes almost
terrified and rolls onto his back. It seams as though he was disciplined very firmly, but
also must have been spoiled to some degree because he believes that anywhere in the
house is his place to lay down including all furniture and all of the beds. This is ok with
us, as he is allowed anywhere in the house as long as he is not standing up on the
furniture. He has taken a particular liking to my son Ryan. He follows him
everywhere, and Ryan has suggested changing his name to shadow. He is extremely
well behaved on the leash, but does not appear to be in very good shape physically.
My wife and I take Victoria out for a walk every night. Wrigley has accompanied us
the last two nights and comes back completely winded. Victoria on the other hand,
could walk for days and still have plenty left over to play in the yard. We figure that
with regular exercise he should be whipped into shape in no time.
He really is a sweetheart. And the way he acts, it is as if he has lived in our house his
whole life. He seems very comfortable, and very happy, and we are thrilled to have
the goofy little guy with us.

UPDATED 6/5/04 - Wrigley has been adopted!

6/2/04- Wrigley is getting along famously here in his foster home. He is the cutest little
fancy brindle boy...I am guessing his weight at about 55 lbs. He loves kids and
playing kissy face with anyone who will let him close enough.
Wrigley will be going in tomorrow for his neuter and to be updated on his
vaccines...he will have a heartworm/lyme test and after that will be ready for
adoption....Wrigley is a smart little boy and will greatly benefit from obedience
classes...meanwhile we are trying to work on his marking habit (hopefully being
neutered will also help this!) and trying to teach him not to jump up on people...he is
just so happy to see everyone that he can't help himself! Wrigley will need to go to a
home with a fairly submissive male dog or a female...he is trying to work his way up
the pecking order here and would like to be the "boss" ... He challenged Brody the
big white boxer boy and Brody rolled him over and told him that he is not anyones
boss here!
