UPDATE 8/11/04 - We picked up Spike at the end of may and he's doing great. he loves
to play with Emma our almost one year old boxer. but he will let her
know when he is done playing. but of course she does not pay any
mind to what he does. my mom has been training Spike and he's doing
great. he gets very excited when he knows he's going for a ride.
pretty much all is great we all love his wet kisses. We brought
Spike and Emma to Wendy and Paul's to play with Brodie things were
great and then Brodie said he had enough of Emma. everything was
fine we would take there minds off of the rough playing. well that
is it for now  Thank You

5/27/04 Well Spike had his first class of obedience yesterday with Aunt Janice. He is a
star student. A gentle leader and a little beef jerky and this guy will perform. He is the
smartest dog ever. He heals well, sits when you stop, turns on a dime all for a little beef
jerky. Whoever said this dog could not learn to walk well didn't have a gentle leader or
beef jerky. Spike continues to be a great all around dog, he has quite a bit of energy and
needs a high energy home. A bunch of boys to play with would be great. Spike also needs
a home that will continue with his gentle leader training. Do you have a great home for
Spike??

5/23/04 Spike has arrived back in rescue after 6 months. He is a beautiful large flashy
fawn boy. Spike has not seemed to miss a beat. He is super friendly and happy. Spike is
very much like a bull in a china closet he does not realize his size. He is very smart and
knows many commands. He needs some serious work on the leash which we will be
starting tomorrow with our own obedience goddess.  Here are comments from Spikes
adoptive home.

Well Spike is becoming more used to the camera after today ;)  I must say we couldn't be
happier, he is awesome with the kids.  He did not feel too good when he arrived, could
have been the car ride and all the commotion to his new home.  He threw up and pooped
on the floor all around the same time.  But after that he stated to eat his food and play with
his new toys, he is exausted.  Hope you enjoy the pictures, we all love himvery much and
he was not as bad as I thogut on the leash, we both took him out a few times today.  He
starts school Sunday at 10:30.  Thank you for everything we are pleased.

Spike has been a his new forever home for 2 days.  He is awesome with the 2 children 18
months & 4.  He could not be sweeter.  He starts school on Sunday and hopefully will be
on his way to being better on the leash.  My husband adores him and me, well he melts my
heart.  Our cat Cowboy is adjusting to sharing his domain, but Spike does not seem to
care much about the cat at all.  We are so happy to have him as a part of our family.

Spike was adopted on Nov 10th 2003.  He is doing very well, adjusting to his new family.
He goes to private training once a week and we work with him 3 times a day for 15
minutes.  He is improving quickly.  Spike takes the ride in the car wherever we go even
the rides to pre-school.  He's a good boy and great with the kids.  Just goes to show time
well spent training makes a great dog!

Spikes family returned him because they said he was to much dog and untrainable on a
leash. We will work with the gentle leader starting tomorrow. He is extremely smart and
knows many commands so I know he will learn easily. Spike must have a fenced in yard
and a active family. He needs lots of time and exercise. He is one great handsome boy.
