UPDAET 3/12/05 - I just wanted everyone to know that Sparky continues to do awesome.
He goes everywhere we go and is a perfect gentlemen (most of the time).  Definately can't
bring him to car washes anymore!   He's become quite protective and he didn't like the men
with the brooms going near our mini-van!

Sparky really is the perfect addition to our family.  He's got lots of furry friends in the
neighborhood, a big yard to play in, walks and car rides everyday and he must get AT
LEAST 200 kisses and hugs a day.  The kids adore him!!  My friend came over last night to
watch a movie and he came up on the couch between the two of us and crawled right onto
her lap.  We took a picture because he looked SO adorable and cozy in her lap!  He also
seems to enjoy sleeping on my husbands legs at night so they're always striving for more bed
space!

Sparky completed his obedience training too months ago.  He did really well.  It seemed to
me that he'd been through it before, based on the way he was.  He knew and responded to
just about everything.  It was more helpful to me I think because I learned some new ways of
training which I've found helpful.

UPDATE 9/26/04 - Sparky continues to do wonderfully.  His personality has really come out
and he's very much at home.  It pretty much seems as if he's been here all along.  Let's see,
the last month we've done a lot of vacationing and he LOVED it!  We went to the Jersey
shore and he saw the ocean for the first time (I think) based on his behavior.  After he got
used to it, he'd run and romp in it and chase the crabs and birds.  After that, we went to visit
family in PA & OH and PA has THE BEST park for dogs.  We brought him there and we
hiked the trails in the woods and every day he'd play with a bunch of dogs.  He was in his
heaven.

He's really grown attached to the kids, especially my son who plays with him all of the time.
He does the cutest thing....at night he sleeps with me and my husband but he'll get up every
night and go check on the kids and then come back to bed.

We start obedience training today at Tails U Win in Manchester CT and I'm excited for it.
He's such a smart guy, I know he's going to do awesome.  I took some digital photos but I
have to get the film/disc developed.  When I do, I'll send you some pictures.

Sparky says hi!!

UPDATE 7/28/04 - Sparky continues to do awesome!  His personality has come out even
more and he is VERY playful and loves all the attention he gets.   He's pretty laid back but it
only takes a second to get him going.  Always willing to play.  He looks forward to his
morning romps at the park and playing with his furry friends.  He and the kids get a long SO
good!  They play all the time and cuddle together.  We did buy Sparky his own bed and he
uses it sometimes but he prefers to sleep with us which is just fine.

We found out why he was throwing up and having so much diarreah.  Turns out he had
Giardia but he's all better now.  Next month we're going on vacation to the beach so we're
looking forward to seeing how he enjoys that.  We bring him to the river and there's a bunch
of sand there and he goes crazy in it, absolutely loves it so imagine what he'll do with a whole
beach?

We're going to obedience training in Sept. at Tails U Win and I know he's going to do really
well.  He's a pleaser pup, he tries really hard to always make you happy.  Such a great
addition to our family!!

UPDATED 7/16/04 - Just wanted to send you all a quick note to say hi and introduce
ourselves.  We are the Baker family (Jeff, Darlene, Colin and Lauren)  We recently adopted
Sparky and love him so much!  He's worked out so well and it's like he's been here all along.
He loves the kids and vice versa and he's always making us laugh.  I knew a boxer would be
the perfect choice for our family and now I know I was right!  I look forward to helping out
and chatting with you all sometime!

UPDATED 7/1/04 - We all looooooove Sparky!  He's more than we could ever have
expected.  He's adjusted really well here and to our extended family.  He's a real charmer.
Everyone who meets him, loves him and he's made lots of furry friends.  He's great friends
with our neighbor's springer spaniel and best buds with his cousin, a choc. lab.  We go for
walks every morning and then on to the Salmon Forest where he romps and gets his paws
wet.  It's funny, if we don't move quick enough in the morning, he starts waiting by the door.
He goes pretty much everywhere with us and LOVES the car!  We've had to leave him a
couple of times for no more than 2 to 4 hrs. and he's been great!  What a greeting we get
when we come home! He loves to cuddle on the couch, especially with our son.  Sparks will
crawl up behind Colin and lay his head on top of our sons.  It's the cutest thing!  The kids love
him and are always giving him hugs, pats, kisses and constantly playing with him.  I can't
believe how well everything has worked out. Sparky has been to the vet a couple of times to
get started on Advantix and to continue his heartworm.  He also was given the lyme shot as
we have TONS of ticks out here.  He's still having a problem with diarreah and the vet says
he has collitis so we have him on a prescription diet right now to see if that helps.  We're
working on signing him up for obedience training with Tails -U-Win in Manchester.  I'm
excited to start that with him, I know he's going to do awesome! Thanks so much to SCBR
for giving us such a beautiful boy and a special thanks to Michelle W.for fostering him, loving
him, and letting him go home with us.  We love him!

UPDATE - Sparky has been adopted!

5/19/04 Well it has been a few wonderful days at our house.  He will be a great addition to
any family.  He loves children and our other boxer.  He loves to jump and its almost like he is
a circus dog.  He can jump about 5 feet in the air with all 4 paws off the ground, it is the
funniest thing that we have ever seen.  My wish for him is that he goes to a family that has
children and another dog, I really think that he would be very lonely without a companion.  He
does not like the creat that much but we do have to creat when we are not home, he does
settle down after a bit.  He loves the couch( we have to keep getting him down).  He is
beautiful and sweet.  He will not be around for long.

5/16/04 - Hi all, this is my first foster so we were a little nervous on how our dog would react.
We had a VERY long drive yesterday, so off to bed it was for everyone when we got home.
Sparky satyed in the crate and did well.  We did our introductions outside on neutral territory(
we were actually in the street lol) did some sniffing and looking then we ended it right there so
they both would have time to think about it. We let him sniff the entire house last night so that
this morning our dog would know someone was here.  As we speak Sparky is laying on my
daughter with our dog! This is a major accompllishment for the Weid family , trust me.
Sparky is an owner surrender and a 1 1/2 neutered fawn flasy male with natural ears and
socks.  He does not seem to know his name and we will work on that.  He is smaller then
other males that I have seen, maybe 40 lbs but shorter too.  Don't think he ever saw a cat
before but so far so good.  Very lovey and cuddley.  He was around children and has been
good with mine. Just now started to eat.  We will update later when we have gotten over the
first few days.
