UPDATE 7/7/05 - Sorry for the time between updates, but we've had alot going on. We
just recently had a baby girl named Aylei and Scooby took to her right away. He is doing
great and has had very little problems. He loves his nightly walks and is getting pretty
good at catching the frisbee.
UPDATE 7/21/04 - Scooby took a couple of days to get use to his new surroundings,
but once he got hold of his basketball, things started to fall in place. Our new hardwood
floors don't seem to care for him to much but they'll adjust as well! It is still touch and go
with our cats as they are King and Queen of the upper realm as Scobby is ruler of the
downstairs. They have been venturing into each others floors more and more and I'm sure
will be tolerable roomates. Scooby has been going to our softball games and travels to
work with my wife when she gets called out. He has been having some problems with
peeing on the floor (especaily earlier on) when we have to leave for work. (The crate did
not go over well and we now have a room for him downstairs) Obedience is going good
but Scoob loses interest after a half hour or so. Training in shroter time spans is working
better. He has put on about 5 pounds and is happier then ever. More to come....
6/04 - Scooby has been adopted!
6/6/04 - Scooby was a stray to one of the shelters we work with, but he had a collar on
with a tag with his name on it. Unfortunately his owners never came for him & could not
be located, so Scooby is now with us looking for his new home. He is a gorgeous about
2 year old brindle boy with cropped ears & a docked tail. He spent a little bit of time at
another volunteer's home & was great with her dogs & 5 year old child. He met several
people on his journey to Maine & has been great with everyone he meets. Scooby is
now here at his foster home & getting ready to settle down for the night. He met my cats
briefly when he came in & was a little curious about them, but so far not overly interested.
I'll test him more with them as he gets more comfortable here. Scooby will need to go
to the vet, hopefully this week, to be neutered & get all his shots & heartworm test done.
Very soon he should be ready for his new home. Watch for more updates soon on this
great boxer boy!
