UPDATE 4/4/05 - It's hard to believe we've had our
boy for two months tomorrow! He's so sweet. He's very attached to us and
stands on his and Chloe's crate alternately next to the window waiting
for one of us to come home. I think he feels better when his pack is
where they should be;at home with him. He's a little insecure at
times, especially when he meets new people, but he has gotten better and
we're still working with him. He has two more obedience classes and he
will get his certificate and will be able to move up to the next class
if we wish or we will continue to work with him at home. The instructor
said that if we keep working with him, we may be able to get him into
commercials or have ads run with his picture because he's so handsome
and just the right color. What a ham he is!! We're content with him just
the way he is,at home without stardom. I think he would have a melt down
if he had lights flashing around him. His poor nerves! LOL!!!!
Yesterday, a strange male dog came into our yard and I watched from the
window, was ready to help if needed and Oliver(who was on his exercise
run)just stiffed him and the dog walked away. I was so proud of him
considering that I think in his past, he has had a few male dog
problems. He didn't seem to mind the visit but was a little relieved
when the dog left. He and Chloe still get along great. They are a mass
of constant rolling around and playing usually. The weather has been
good here and there so they have spent alot of time outside together.
Sometimes Chloe gets a little jealous because Mr.Oliver is a cuddler and
she tries to nudge him off of me on the couch but we tell her no and she
stops. This is a recent behaviour and I think it's just occurred to the
little lady that Oliver is our dog now too and isn't going anywhere. I
think it will just take a little time. She has the spoiled only child
sydrome!! Anyway, Oliver continues to wag his tail so still seems pretty
happy. Thank you to all again who helped bring him into our family. He's
still a perfect fit!

2/9/05 - Oliver has been adopted!

01/23/04- Oliver here...this is the very first time I have written on this machine,...so
please bear with me.....first I'd like to say that I have enjoyed my stay in my foster home,
it's an alright place to be!!! I've been playing up a storm with Brody, the big white boxer
boy, and the silly little puppies, Lucy and Lily. Brody lets them chew on him with their
sharp little puppy teeth,...not me!!! Those little things are a bother to a big guy like
me...sometimes I play with them just to please my fostermom, not because I really enjoy
it, In fact I play with them every chance I get, so's to make a good impressions on the
humans here....Brody thinks I like the puppies,.....I'm just trying to teach those little
rugrats how to act...
BUT, I have been just waiting and wishing for a forever home of my very own!!!
IT'S HAPPENED!!! A very nice lady from Buffalo is going to be taking me home this
weekend....my foster mom wouldn't let me talk to her on the phone, (something about
Boxer drool.(?)) ...but she says my new mom sounds wonderful!!! And to top it off I will
have a canine brother and a human brother...Life just doesn't get any better than this
folks!!!  I'm going home!
1/1/04 Ollie has had his vet visit, ....he came thru with flying colors, 100% healthy except
for a few minor cosmetic issues ..some gum overgrowth due to his being an older boxer
boy. His eyes are great...no problems at all...,he just naturally has large dark pupils. The
lumps on his back are sebaceous cysts( they were aspirated by the vet and tested).Ollie
is ready to go, he is a real gentleman....sweet and great with all the dogs, ....he thinks
they are toys for playing !!! No cats, he thinks they are lunch! Oliver acts much younger
then his age of 6 years and plays with the puppies as if he were 2 years old. He isn't very
fond of the crate, however will go into it now when told. He also is a very vocal
boy...making all sorts of noises....He trills for attention and growls when playing....his
voice range is incredible. I had never heard another boxer as vocal as my Rocky,
however Ollie takes the prize. He acts as though there are springs in his feet, and jumps
up off the ground with all four feet to about shoulder height when he gets excited... he
doesn't actually touch you when he does it ..he is just leaping for joy! Ollie will benefit
from obedience school greatly, he is very smart and is already sitting on command..the
staying part is what gives him trouble....He genuinely wants to be with you every
moment. Oliver is a wonderful boy, so get those applications in quick!!!

1-11-04- Oliver has arrived at The Upperfield ! Ollie is an owner surrender,...he's is a
very handsome and very large fancy fawn, natural ears and docked tail and appears to
be very well behaved...he will be making a visit shortly to one of our favorite vet's to be
brought up to date on shots and will have two smallish lumps on his back checked out.
Ollie is a very lively and good natured boy...more to come on this big guy!!!
The story behind his name: The name on his paperwork is spelled Ali..however, his
owners pronounced it as "Ollie". If you say Ali to him he doesn't even turn his
head,.....say Ollie and he get's all excited...so Oliver it is!!! Ollie for short!
