UPDATE 10/11/04 - I have a very sad story to tell. Last Friday, Oct.8th, Mitzi was hit by a car and killed. It was 7:30am and my husband and I were just leaving to go to the fair. My mother was there to watch the dogs and get my kids off to school. That's when Mitzi squeezed by him and out the front door. We tried to catch her, but she ran down the driveway and into the street and that's when it happened. I grabbed the car and we drove to the vet's office as fast as we could. Dr. Harriton and his staff are awesome. They grabbed Mitzi out of my arms and rushed her inside. Despite everything, they couldn't save her. We were crushed. When we got home Jazz knew something was wrong. She acted very strange and sad. On a side note, as I'm writing this I'm crying and Jazzy just looked at me from downstairs and came up just to give me a big kiss. I love her sooo much. It amazes me that just in the two short weeks that Mitzi was here, she was part of our family. We loved her just like a child. We have three girls ages 5,6, and 10. They are absolutely heartbroken. I don't know where to go from here. The only comfort I have is knowing that Mitzi didn't suffer and that she finally had her very own family to love her and care for her before she left us. Please give your special pets an extra kiss tonight. And please keep Mitzi in your thoughts.
Hi everyone! Mitzi arrived at the Last Resort pretty last night! She is the sweetest little girl anyone could wish for! She came right into my house and settled right down with the four other boxers here (both male and female) and even slept with the other dogs on the dog beds last night. Today she spent the day in the crate while I was at work. She played outside in our fenced yard all evening with the whole gang (see pictures, lol). I cant say enough nice things about her...she is a keeper!
