UPDATED 10/29/04 - Luna is still as wonderful as ever. She has happily made herself comfortable in her
new home. She has had a very busy month with play dates and visits from other dogs. She had a very nice
time with Zena and Sage when they came to play one afternoon. I think that she was happy to see some
other boxers.  Sadie is a 6 month old golden lab she is our  neighbor and comes out to play often. We had
a puppy named Elvis (shepard lab mix) over for a weekend, it didn't take him too long to figure out who
the boss is. Once he figured that out they got along great.
Luna is still doing well with Spencer and he loves her very much. We are very thankful that we have such a
good dog.

UPDATE 9/30/04 - When we adopted Luna her foster family told us she was a perfect dog. They could
not have been more right !!! She is the best. She has settled in very well and seems to like her new home.
Luna is very mild mannered and doesn't get into any mischief. My son Spencer loves her very much. Every
morning before we leave she gets a treat and when we come home. We  have taken her for walks in the
park and our neighbors have a puppy that she likes to play with. She is very gentle and patient with
Spencer. The vet said she was in good health and a very sweet dog. Some times we will take her for a ride
when we won't be gone to long and she enjoys that too.
I can't begin to tell you how awesome she is. She is the perfect dog. Thank you Julie  : ).

7/17/04- Luna ia doing great here at the Upperfield...she is a joy to have around....we love her dearly and
know that someone out there is just awaiting her arrival. Luna, has a lump on her back that is just a fatty
tumor...non-cancerous which may be removed if desired...It's purely cosmetic surgery. Luna is great with
most of the other dogs and is even playing with the puppy...she is a true boxer and rears up to deliver lefts
and rights as the uppy tries to duck away. She gets bursts of energy when outside and will run and run and
run around the yard. She is extremely low maintenance and just needs love and kindness....she loves car
rides and appears to be okay with cats...she goes up to the gate at the top of the stairs and tries to kiss
them thru the bars of the gate. Luna is fantastic with small children and will lay with her head on my 3 year
old son's lap if he is on the floor...she is calm and easygoing...unless another dog tries to get her food...then
she gives a low growl and if that doesn't work will launch herself at them snarling until they get the message.
she never does any damage...it's just a warning! She will however let her humans take her bowl or treat
away without any reaction except a tiny little tail wiggle......I can't express how sweet this girl is.....there are
just no words!!!

6/17/04- Luna has been here at the Upperfield for a week now, however, has been quite under the
weather due to an upper respiratory infection....It was harder to appreciate her sweetness as she was
sneezing all over us! She is now on the mend and I can honestly say that this girl is a darling! She looks
older than she is, due to being gray in her face area. Our vet's feel that she is around six years old. Her
teeth are in great shape, very clean and white and no signs of gum overgrowth...thus no bad breath!!! Luna
is a bit territorial about her space, food and toys and does not really like to share them with her fellow
foster Moxie..these girls were kenneled together at one of our favorite New Jersey shelters and evidently
she showed some problems with sharing while there also. She is okay with Moxie, as long as there aren't
any toys or treats or any attention being handed out. I think she is used to being the center of attention and
probably was either an only dog or the alpha. She loves my 3 year old son and her very favorite thing
seems to be being groomed. She will stand still for brushing as long as you can keep the brush going....She
doesn't jump up, she isn't a counter surfer or trashcan dunker and best of all she is completely totally
housebroken! Her appetite has been a bit off due to not feeling very well...we have been tempting her with
treats and canned puppy food..she could stand to put on a few pounds.
Luna is a lovely fawn with a graying face, natural ears, docked tail and a few very striking brindle markings.
She is up to date and spayed and ready to go home!
If you are looking for a middle aged lady to be your only one...this girl is for you!

Luna was a stray to our favorite NJ Shelter. She appears to be in great shape and a well cared for well
loved dog. Luna was extremely happy to get out of the shelter, she did share her cell with Moxie so both
came for a long ride. Luna is extremely well behaved, seems to like her crate and be housebroken. SHe is
good with the kids and doesn't seem to mind the other dogs. She will be going to the vets this week for a
check up. We will up date you as we get to know her better.
