UPDATE 12/4/05 - It doesn't seem possible that we have had Lucky for only a year!  Lucky
continues to be a happy, loveable dog.  She and our other boxer Lucy get along great most of
the time...a lot like sisters!
She is a lovebug and will stand next to you for hours if you will just scratch her back!  Lucky
loves her bed and crate and will drag her blanket around to the perfect spot to lie down.  Her
favorite treats are bones to chew on, they amuse her for hours!
She still has some difficulties around other dogs and we are still working with her on this.
Despite that problem she is a wonderful dog who just wants to please everyone around her.
Her happy dance is one that makes us laugh everytime we see it!  We are thrilled she will be
spending her second christmas with us!

UPDATE 5/1/05 - Lucky is doing great with us! We love her more and more each day. She
graduated at the top of her class in basic obedience training! She really came a long way with
her confidence in class and we are planning on taking her to the next class to continue
socializing her. We have enjoyed the nice weather and are taking her for nice long walks each
day. We are working with a trainer to help out with some dominace issues between Lucky and
our other boxer Lucy. It is helping us a lot and we are certain the problems will be resolved
with just a little more work. Lucky continues to love chasing the laser and waits at the door
each night for her turn to play. She is a loveable, sweet dog who wants nothing more than to
give us kisses and do the happy dance everyday!!

UPDATE 2/19/05 - Lucky is doing great!  She is a bundle of energy and a lovebug.  She really
has adjusted well in the two months that we have had her.  Our other boxer, Lucy and Lucky
love to play tug-of-war, keep away and chase each other.  She is in obedience training right
now and is doing well with the commands.  She is very timid in class and mostly tries to hide
behind my husband's legs!  We are trying to socialize her a little more to deal with this.  When
Lucky came to us she was fearful of men but she is more and more trustful each day.  My
husband has completely won her over and she follows him everywhere!  Her staff infection that
she had when we adopted her is completely gone and she has been very healthy since we have
had her.
We discovered that she LOVES the laser pointer by accident...I play with my cats using a laser
pointer sometimes since they love to chase it and one night while Lucky was laying on the floor
I got it out for the cats.  Lucky went crazy chasing it all through the house!  She is so excited
about it and tilts her little head when she sees it as if to ask "are we going to play?"  It is so
cute.  We love Lucky and are so happy to have a new addition to our family!

UPDATE 2/8/05 - Lucky is doing great in her new home!  She is a sweetheart with enough
boxer wiggles to go around, but she especially has eyes for her "dad."  She has started dog
obedience and is doing great with the commands she has learned.  She is a bit timid with the
other dogs in class but is warming up to them.  Lucy our other boxer has decided it is pretty fun
to have a playmate around and they spend much of their time playing tug-of-war and keep
away.  They have had a few fights when another dog comes into the situation but we are
working on this.
Lucky is a doll and we feel "lucky" she is a part of our family!!

UPDATE 1/18/05 - Lucky is doing great. She has become great friends with our two year old
boxer Lucy and is chasing our two cats less and less everyday.  It seems like she has always
been here!  She starts obedience classes tomorrow.  We haven't been able to have Lucy and
Lucky around a third dog but are working on this so we can continue our walks in the park.
She greats us each day with boxer wiggles and kisses that continue to make us smile, she is a
great addition to our family!

12/18/04 - Lucky Seven has been adopted!

12/10/04 Lucky went to the vet for her sore spot since it got bigger and she is now chewing on
her feet. It appears that she has a staff infection and since she came in on antibiotics, and this
showed up 7 days after she stopped taking them, the vet thinks it might be chronic. He has
given her a much higher dose of antibiotics this time and is hopeful that will knock it out. If not,
we will do a skin scrape. She is taking her meds well and has shown no lack of appetite or
energy, so it isn’t slowing her down any. She is so cute and funny, what a great dog to add
to some lucky

12/8/04 Lucky is doing well, although she does have a booboo on her face, probably too rough
play with the boys, I will watch it. Lucky is very smart, she knows a number of “doggy
words like sit, stay, come, down, etc. She has also begun to follow the boys example and
greets people with less suspicion (even men) because they do. She might do better in a multi-
dog household because of this and the fact that she wears my boys out with playing. She is an
energizer bunny!! Lol She is a really super boxer girl and will not last long so get your
paperwork in and ask about this fabulous little girl!!

12/05/04 Lucky is such a sweet girl, with a “puppy face that when she gets into trouble
it is very hard to stay mad. Luckily (pun intended) she doesn’t get into trouble very often.
She is a very nervous girl though, and drops to the floor for the slightest loud voice or quick
movement. On the plus side, now that she knows my husband and our house guest , she walks
right up for petting and general loving. She does “happy dances“ for just about any word
of praise or if you are just talking to her, which is why it took me a while to realize that this is
also her signal that she needs to go out!!  PS: she has moved from my son’s floor to his
bed (knew that was coming!).

12/02/04 Well the “Lucky lady has been here for a couple of days and things are much
more calm. She has adjusted to the routine fairly well, (a couple of little “accidents) but
more my fault than hers as I have not worked out her “gotta go cue yet). She is “in
the pack with a minimum or issues. It was interesting that Toby (who had ear surgery
recently) was trying to keep his “ouchy ear away from everybody and, to Lucky’s
mind, this was a signal that he was afraid of her, so she kept herding him around the living
room. Lucky has gotten used to Bill and although she still growls a little when he comes thru the
door, as soon as he says her name she goes to him and lets him pet her. (I think his black
trench coat makes him look like a big threatening “thing to her). She is eating well and
sleeping in my son’s room (no more couch for the foster mother!!!)

11/30/04 The Inn has a new guest. Her name is Lucky 7 and she is as cute as a button. She is a
fancy fawn with high white on her legs, a stripe on her face that grows as it goes down her neck
onto her belly, and a dribble of white on the back of her neck. (like someone spilled a little
paint). She is at present very nervous and easily frightened. We were told she is very shy
around men she doesn’t know, and this would seem to be true as she cowers or cringes if
my husband looks at her. On the other hand she is much more comfortable with my 17 year old
son and he is 6’2, so go figure.
