UPDATE 8/2/05 - Its been a year (in 2 weeks) that we adopted Lilly!! She's finally starting to
really act like she's home. She's walking around with her tail up. Not down, like she's
submissive. She  seems to  respect our "rules" better--like she waits to jump out of the car tll
shes leashed. She comes when we motion to her. She and Tyler have had some differences
and she sticks up for herself. She's relly loved by everybody she meets. We're still having a
hard time keeping her from jumping up on people. But she's better. Hope you&yours are great,
and getting on in life!!

7/15/04  Lilly-Bean wants to say HI! She is just the best little girl, we think she is great. She is
such a happy dog and she gets along well with everyone. Don't pass on the deaf dogs, they get
along just fine and most people would never guess they are deaf. Lilly is VERY aware of
everything going on around her, and takes her cues quickly from the other dogs. She never
misses a trick!

6/18/04  Someone just brought to my attention that Lilly's last update didn't "save" for me!
Sorry about that everyone! Lilly continues to do very well. She is a sweet dog, but full of the
dickens too..she loves to play rough and wrestle with the other dogs. She issists on sleeping
with us, but she is considerate about space...unless she happens to get your pillow before you
do!! She stays home with my big male and my female, uncrated all day. She is not at all
destructive, nor does she have any accidents in the house. She can, on ocassion, be a bit
snappy with her food dish, but only if the other dogs are being piggy and trying to get into it.
She is fine with kids, and lived with them in her previous home.
Lilly is NOT alwya good aty the door, and will bolt throiugh it if given a chance. She does
know to sit and wait, but when we are opening and closing the door often, as in unloading
groceries, she wil try to bolt and run. This is a particularly bad situation for a deaf dog as she
cannot be called back.
The ideal home for Lilly would be one with a  male dog for her to play with and be her ears,
with a large fenced yard. Kids are fine, but the door issue may require only older kids who
would be more aware when coming and going.
Lilly is a little dog with a large personality, we think she is just great!!

4/6/04 Just a quick note to let everyone know that Lilly is doing just fine. She is getting along
great with my dogs and picked up our daily routine very quickly. She doesn't do very well in a
crate, but she loves to go with you wherever you are and will wait for you in the car. She is
great company. She is doing so-so with my cat. Sometimes she ignores her, and sometimes she
looks for her. I think with patience and a escape route for the cat that ot could be overcome.
She will try to scoot through an open door so we watch her closely, I believe that was an issue
for her surrendering home as they had young kids who opened the door. She will sit and wait
at the door  and for her leash to be put on, and actually has some good obedience skills
already. She desperately needs to bond with with a person, she is a bit of a lost soul right now!
She loves to meet new people, she does a nice wiggly butt dance.
Lilly needs a home that is ready to make a comittment to care for her and love her for the rest
of her life. She has already had a couple of homes through no fault of her own, and being
mostly deaf makes the transition especially confusing for her.

4/3/04  Lilly arrived at the Last Resort! What a little sweetie girl she is! So far Lilly has shown
us that she is a smart dog and knows some commands. We are letting her settle in and we'll
lots more to tell you about her soon!
