UPDATE 3/7/05 - Hello Everyone!
First of all, I just want to thank my husband John for the most wonderful surprise early Christmas present
I could ever get - when I arrived home from a trip at midnight, Jade was sleeping on my side of the bed!
I've always wanted two dogs - since we adopted Jackson from SCBR in January 2002, then we had
Jessie (SCBR July 2003)for such a short time until she went to Judy. I always printed out pictures and
stories of available dogs from the website and left them on John's desk, and he always looked at them
and said "not again, Jackson is fine by himself". Well, before I went on my trip I printed out Jade's story
and said she'd be perfect for us. He said "not again, Jackson is fine by himself". Then I get home from
my trip and there she is!!! John and my 7 year old son Tucker drove all the way from southern NH to
Albany NY to pick her up while I was away and surprise me. Again, the best present ever! Thank
you!!!! Anyway, Jade is wonderful. It's like she's always been a member of our family. Right from the
very beginning she fit right in and is so easy to please. She and Jackson lover each other so much -
they're always kissing each other so sweetly - it just fills my heart with joy! Jade loves everyone she
meets and is wonderful with kids. She lets Tucker lie right on top of her for hours on the couch. She and
Jackson come to our office almost every day and are both so well behaved, everyone just loves them.
They bring so much happiness to our lives, thank you everyone at SCBR for making it all possible!
12/5/04 - Jade has been adopted!
11/7/04 We have been so busy here at the Boxer'In on the lake that we are very overdue for an update
on Miss Jade. Jade continues to be just a sweet loveable girl. She is so easy and always just goes with
the flow of things. She seems to have gained a ton of confidence and has no problem waiting her turn.
She is getting very playful with her foster parents and we give her lots of hugs to make her feel good
about herself. She likes some of the boys at the boxer'in and will work real hard to get them to play with
her but once she has their attention, she'll get almost nervous about it. She reminds me of a bashful
teenager. She is just too cute. She has very long legs and will do almost a two step when she is playing.
She is fun to watch. Jade could go to any home and be very happy. She is so easy that we could have
lots of Jades here and it wouldn't make any difference. She is not crated but could be if you wanted her
to. She likes to snuggle on the couch and doesn't mind the dog beds if that is where you want her to be.
She has a favorite purple ball that she considers her's. Some of the boys here will take it and almost
tease her with it and she just doesn't know what to do. She gets excited but also tries to be very
reserved in her thinking. She is quite a lady. Her foster dad says she is "perfect". We are feeding Jade
twice daily and she does better when she just gets dog food and not people food. She will sit for a treat
and is just a very well behaved boxer. Jade could make any family happy. She wants to get to her
forever home soon before she becomes anymore attached here. We all think that she is just great.
10/23/04 - Are you looking for a sweet, loveable boxer? Well if you are, than ask for Jade. Jade has
settled in so nice here at her foster home. She has handled her move into foster care with flying colors.
She is nothing short of just sweet. We have just fallen in love with her. She is so well behaved and is not
crated anymore because she just doesn't need to be. Quite often I will find her in a dog crate taking a
little nap and just loving life. I leave the door open and she can go in and out as she pleases. She has no
problems about the crate at all,
sometimes she even goes into one of the residents crates to lay down for a short while. Jade has gotten
use to all the other residents at the boxer'in and is showing alot more confidence. If we are handing out
treats, she is
right there with the other dogs now instead of hanging back. She likes to play with her foster dad and is
really cute when she plays. Today, she even played with me by going after my foot and pulling my sock
off. Of course, she wanted to take the sock with her to play with but she knew that it was not an option
and gave it back to me. Last week, I was home all week and she really enjoyed that. We snuggled on
the couch by the fireplace and that is her new spot to hang out. She sleeps anywhere she wants to in the
house at night and will usually sleep on one of the dog beds or on the couch by the fireplace. She is
actually a very quiet boxer and takes life pretty serious so you have to put some effort into getting her
motivated. We were outside alot today and she spent a good amount of time with us and the other dogs.
She had a couple of good runs today but quickly quiets down after her little bouts of excitement. Jade is
just a good girl and would make a great
addition to any household either by herself or with another dog. She doesn't play alot with the other
dogs but she is very tolerate of them. Jade loves attention and she is so cute when she gets excited. She
uses her
feet alot during play. Think about making Jade a part of your family. She is just the right fit for any home
and will be forever grateful for your love. She is just a great girl.
10/9/04 Jade has just come alive at her foster home. She is doing great and just a sweetheart. She is
eating kibbled food twice daily mixed with a little warm water and gets so excited when it is time to eat.
She is getting along with all her foster brothers and sisters and seems to be enjoying their company. Jade
needs constant reassurance that she is okay which is acceptable for right now. She has changed so
much her first week here and she is beginning to relax more and more everyday. We did crate her for a
few days last week while we were at work but now are leaving her out with some of her friends here and
as you would think-she was an angel. She doesn't even mind being in her crate but she certainly doesn't
need to be. Jade met a few friends this weekend and was a great guest to them. One of the ladies that
came to visit fell in love with her
which is easy to do. Jade is so calm and always wants to please once she knows what you expect of
her. She loves playing with her foster dad on the floor and she just gets so happy for the attention . Jade
sleeps on a dog bed in our bedroom and has had no accidents in her crate or in the house. Jade went to
the vet last week and was brought up to date on a few of her vaccinations. We also had a couple of
lumps checked out that are on her back and back leg but they are nothing to worry about -only a couple
of cysts. She has an ear infection in both ears that we are treating to make her feel better. She also had a
little skin infection on her belly that she is taking antibiotic for. So, she should be in tip top shape for her
new family. Jade loves people and is such a nice girl. She will win your heart for sure. She will make a
wonderful addition to any family and all she
needs is a little love. She will do fine in a home that makes her a part of their lives. She isn't asking for
much but will return more than you could ask for. Don't keep her waiting. She is quite a lady.
10/06/04 Our newest guest at the Boxer'In on the Lake is Jade. She has a beautiful name and is also
one of the sweetest
fosters we have ever had. Jade is a 6 year old fawn spayed female with a black mask, natural ears and a
docked tail. She has a white chest and a little bit of white on each feet. Jade was an owner surrender as
the family
had a baby. We brought Jade home from Massacusetts from the boxer blast with us and she did great
on her trip. She is a real lady and so deserving of a family that will love her. We immediately introduced
her to her foster brothers and sisters and she did great. She is actually very timid around them and will
have to make alot of adjustments to feel totally good about being surrounded by boxers. She gets very
nervous around them when they are in a group and will go into another room until it quiets down. I hope
that she will be adopted quickly so that it won't be too hard on her. She hadn't eaten yet and it had been
over 24 hours so we made her some hamburger and rice tonight and she was delighted with it. I think
she had a good case of boxer belly. We were also happy that we had gotten her to eat. She loves
attention and I think that she is trying so hard to please us. We did crate her today when we were at
work and she does well in there. It is all a big adjustment for her and we hope to build her confidence
level up. She is really cute and we have already fallen in love with her. I believe that she will make a
great companion to any family. This girl is really something and loves people so please don't make her
wait too long. She really needs her own family.
