1/12/04 Heidi LOVES this cold weather. She never misses an
opportunity to go outside and romp!! She comes back into the house all
invigorated and ready to play with Zoe, who is not nearly so fond of the
cold! We are still seeing new characteristics of her personality. Along
with being a sweet, well behaved girl, she is very playful -- both with
toys and with other dogs. She loves to play ball, but doesn't quite have
the concept of 'fetch'. She runs after the ball, brings it back then
won't give it up. She has the cutest habit -- she goes to bed every
night at 9:30. It doesn't matter if the other dogs (or people) are still
up, she goes to bed!! She loves her dog bed and especially likes to
cuddle up in the crate. It is adorable when she and Zoe are both curled
up in the crate together. They seem to be great buddies. Heidi is a
sweet and loving girl who deserves a forever home. Could it be yours??

12/11/03 Heidi is such a sweetheart! She continues to do VERY well here
at Burlington Boxers. She is extremely well mannered, and has lots of
energy for a 6 year old girl. She acts and plays like a 4 year old. Poor
Zoe gets tired before Heidi does. She loves to eat in her crate, in fact
sometimes she goes in for some quiet time. She is eating well -- maybe
too well. She loves her dog food and her 'cookies'. She spins around in
circles while waiting to get her food dish. When she came to us she was
pretty skinny, I think we will need to cut back on her food a little --
she is almost getting pudgy! She has had not one accident in the house.
Heidi is a super affectionate girl. She loves to sit in your lap and
just be loved. She is very polite, too. She has done very well with the
boxers that have come as overnight visitors (they have all been young
males). Once she is comfortable with them, she "shows them the ropes" in
the back yard. She has a knack for tiring out those young boys!! Heidi
is a very good girl who deserves a permanent home with you. She will
love you and ask for very little in return. She is such a sweet and
unassuming little girl.

9/10/03 Hi guys, Heidi here!! I thought that I would take
matters into my own paws, and put my own update on the website. My
foster Mom has been kind of busy. Besides, who knows me better than me??
I like it here at my foster home, but it isn't like having a forever
home. My foster family feeds me well, takes me for walks and has a nice
yard for me to run around in. I get to play with Zoe and I kind of steer
clear of Baxter -- he is really old, big and can be grumbly. I
especially love it when I get to have lots of attention and affection.
But it's not the same... That's where you come in. I would love to be
your Boxer girl. I know lots of commands, I listen well and walk really
well on a leash. I am a pretty good girl, if I do say so myself. And I
have a very soft coat. I am very happy to curl up with you and let you
pet me all you want. In return, I will wiggle, dance, and give you lots
and lots of Boxer kisses. I think I can live with another dog, I just
like to eat in my crate. In my past, I guess that I didn't always get
enought to eat, so I am a little protective of my food. My foster Mom
says that it is a small flaw in an otherwise wonderful Boxer girl. So,
can you please think about putting in your application to adopt me? You
won't be sorry, I promise. Love, Heidi.
7/28/03 This is one sweet little girl. Her personality is really starting to emerge, and she is
blossoming!! She is a bundle of love and has the softest coat!! What a cutie.
Heidi's favorite thing to do is to play ball. She hunts all over the yard until she finds a ball,
then carries it around with her. She is learning how to catch, and how to play fetch. She
has the 'go get it ' part down, she just doesn't seem to understand that she is supposed to
give it up!
Heidi is now up to a normal weight for her size. She and Zoe love to play 'chewy face'
and chase each other in the yard. She is a good eater and doesn't mind spending time in
the crate. She has had one accident in the house, and I think it was largely due to a little
stomach upset.
She is a little wary of strangers, especially men. She eventually warms up to them, but is
a little 'grumbly' until she gets to know them. She is very well trained, and will patiently
maintain a 'sit/stay' while she is waiting to be fed. She listens very well and walks very
well on a leash.
Despite of the fact that she and Zoe play frequently, I think she will do better as the only
dog in a household. She thrives on human attention, and she seeks it out frequently. She
can be food aggressive with other dogs (not at all with people), and doesn't really like to
share her toys.
Heidi is anxiously waiting for her forever home. If you are looking for a sweet, cuddly girl
who does the 'wiggle' and kisses alot, Heidi is the one!

6/27/03 - Heidi continues to do well.  She has gained a little weight and is getting along
well with the resident boxers. She and Zoe love to play together.  We have noticed that
she has some food issues with the other dogs, but not with people.  She loves peanut
butter sandwiches, doggie cookies and her dog food.  She is a very good eater, not fussy
at all.

We had her out on the leash last week and she is VERY well behaved.  She walked
along side me like a little lady.  My guess is that she has had some obedience training.

Heidi is a wonderful, sweet girl who would love to be someone's only dog. At the same
time, she seems to really love playing with Zoe.  She is so funny -- she grumbles when
the other dogs are getting more attention than her.  She is a really nice Boxer girl who is
looking forward to going to her forever home.

6/14/03 - Heidi is one very sweet, affectionate girl. Whenever one of us
sits on the floor, she comes right over and climbs on our lap!!  If we don't
start to pet her right away, she pushes our hands with her head until we
do!!

She is a bit of a 'talker' -- she grumbles when she is trying to get your
attention.  She is very cute and is not at all demanding.  She is very
unassuming, and seems happy to just be loved.  Heidi is quite the kisser,
too!

She is getting along very well with the resident Boxers, Zoe and Baxter.
She is a little possessive about her toys, but we are working on that.  She
know some basic commands -- sit, down, paw, and off.  All in all, she is
very well behaved.  Her appetite is good, and she has gained a little
weight. She loves her 'cookies' and always seems to know when we take
out cookie bag. She has no isssues about going into her crate and loves to
go outside.  We will be taking her out on a leash this week.

Heidi is looking forward to going to her forever home.  If you are looking
for a loving, sweet boxer girl
who can be both quiet and spunky -- Heidi is your girl!!

Heidi has arrived.  She is a pretty fawn and white 6
year old, owner surrender.  She is a very sweet girl.
