2/7/05 - My beautiful little Harley crossed to the bridge at 2:30 this afternoon. Her cancer came
back with a vengence, and this morning she was in obvious pain. She was the most amazing little
girl, so full of love and wiggles. I miss her more than I can even begin to tell. It will never be the
same now when I come home from work, with her kidney bean dance and jumping to greet me. I
can honestly say, that even knowing what I know now about the outcome of her time with us, we
would do it all over again. She never ceased to amaze me. With all she had been through, she
continued to trust and love unconditionally. Why can't people be like that? Whar a wonderful world
we would have if we could learn lessons from these amazing little creatures. My husband and I have
shed a lot of tears today and I know will continue to do so in the days ahead, but I know that she is
whole and not hurting anymore and I will always carry a piece of her in my heart. I love her. Thank
you all for your kind thoughts and prayers. I wish I could have had 9 years instead of 9 months, but
I guess her work was finished here and God needed another little doggie angel.Love your babies
with all your hearts. Sincerely, Kathie Mom to Harley
5/8/2004 - Harley has been adopted!
4/22/04 Harley is starting to feel more comfortable. She came in with Angle and Rose Marie. They
had all been alone without food or water for ten days after their owner died in a house fire. Harley
was understandably a little scared at first, but right from the start she has proven she is a very strong
little girl. She might have been shaking all over with fear but she never gave up. She loves other dogs
and just seems to light up at the site of children. She is not really very fond of being crated but I have
found she behaves very nicely when she is left out of the crate. Last night I did not crate her and she
didn't get into anything. She just climbed up on the bed and made herself comfortable between my
husband and I and went to sleep. The vet that examined her estimated her age at 8 but she could be
younger. She has a lot of gray on her face but she seems very healthy and active for an 8 year old.
However old she is she will make a wonderful addition to the lucky family that gets to adopt her.
Harley is a beautiful spry little lady who loves other dogs and kids. She came into rescue from a
shelter in Mass with her daughter and her granddaughter.Harley has met my eight year old boxer
and seemed to love him.I think she would love to have a home with other dogs. She also is very
fond of children and follows my son around where ever he goes. Harley definatly has a lot of life left
in her and will bring a lot of joy to the family that is lucky enough to adopt her.
