UPDATE 4/30/07 - THREE YEARS!  Yes it has been 3 years since we were lucky enough to become
Foreman's people.  We cannot thank SCBR for bringing us together.  He is a wonderful dog with a BIG
heart.
He welcomed our newest edition "Maple" into the pack and the two of them can be found sleeping
together and grooming one another.
He makes friends wherever he goes as he is one HANDSOME guy!
We love him and he returns that love everyday.  Thanks again Second Chance for allowing us to be his
"parents".  We are PROUD of our "boy" and will continue to enjoy our time with him.

UPDATE 4/26/06 - Hello to all,
I can't believe it has been 2 years since we made the trek to Niagra Falls and picked up our BIG boy
Foreman!  I wanted to send some pictures of the big guy and let everyone know how much he has
changed in the two years.
When we first got him he had some "fear aggressision" and was VERY, VERY alpha.  We were fortunate
to start him in an obedience class the second day we had him.  What a HUGE turn around he did in just 2
sessions!!  I cannot stress enough how important the obedience requirement is.   He still wants to be the
boss, but we redirect him, and live by the motto "nothing in life is free".
He is such a BIG part of our lives.  He goes everywhere with us, and we can't imagine life without him.
He and his "sister" Mia, the chihuahua mix are best buddies.  I have attached a few pics of the two of
them together.  It is too funny, they are like "Mutt and Jeff".  They are very bonded.  Foreman initiates
play with her and is soooo gentle.  He will NEVER bite her, always open mouthing and loves to get her to
chase him!  He is very protective of his sis and will put himself between her and another dog/person when
we are approached by strangers on our walks.  TOO sweet!!
I want to thank SCBR for our big guy and for letting us be a part of such a wonderful group.  Also a BIG
thank-you to Jackie for fostering him!!  We are so PROUD to be a part of helping these wonderful
boxer's find forever homes.

UPDATED - Hi Everyone.  Foreman here.  I decided to do my own update since Mom and Dad are so
busy.  Where do I start?  Well, I want everyone to know that I am a very happy boxer in my forever
home.  Mom and Dad say that I am a completely different boy from the day I first got here.  I have
discovered the wonders of toys most recently.  I have a few favorites and I just love chewing and fetching
them.  I also am very fond of the thing they call "lovin" here.  I get kisses and hugs from my parents, and
that makes me feel soooo good.  And I actually like it so much that I have been known to sneak into the
bed at night.  I have a nice warm bed and blanket of my own, but I just want to be with my parents, so
when I hear Dad doing that noisey thing called "snoring" I sneak up onto the bed.  I have a little "sister"
Mia that I am totally ga-ga for.  She and I keep each other company when the parents go to work.  We
cuddle on the couch and wait for someone to return.  I have so many things to tell you all.  Most
importantly, I want you to know how happy I am, and how much I love my family.  Mom says she can't
imagine her life without me.  I tell her not to imagine it, cause I am here to stay!!  Thank you all for my
new family.  I will write again soon.  Mom downloaded some pictures of me and is sending them in.
Have safe and happy holidays!!  Til next time...

UPDATED 8/23/04 - Hello everyone, Foreman has recenly discovered his voice, and it is too funny to
hear him use it!!  Good news is he only uses it at appropriate times.  He also has recently become such a
"cuddlebug".  He has never been one to want to be next to us, until recently.  We are thinking he is
bonding more with us, and feeling more comfortable.  It makes us so happy to see him this way!  He and
the "princess" continue to get along famously.  We are going to our "home away from home" a cottage in
Maine in 2 weeks.  We'll be sure to take lots of pics so we can send them in.  Til next time...

UPDATED 7/7/04 - Here we are again...another update.  Time FLIES when you're a boxer owner!!!
He continues to win our hearts with his silly personality.  People who meet him can't believe that he is
such a big mush.  We think he has finally realized that he is here to stay and that we are his people.  That
makes us happy, because we can't imagine our lives without him!! Til next time...

UPDATED 6/11/04 - Hi all!! Well, we can't believe a month has flown by already!  Foreman has come a
L-O-N-G way in a month.  He graduates from basic obedience on June 7th. What a smart boy.  He
continues to amaze us daily.  His little "sister"
(a chihuahua mix...wanna be lab) Mia, and he have a great time together.  He is so tolerant of her...it is
truely a gas watching a itsy bitsy dog boss him around!!  They love to sleep together in his big new bed.
It is pretty darn comfortable, and I should know...I fell asleep in it in front of the fireplace and slept the
night when on a recent trip to our cottage in Maine!!!!  Poor dogs had to sleep on the capet next to me!!
LOL!!  We look forward to lots of good times with our new guy!!  Thanks everyone for making this
happen for us!!Sue, Rich, Foreman and Mia

UPDATED 5/04 - Foreman has been adopted!

4/8/04- Foreman went to the vet today to make sure his URI was all cleared up and it is, so he is
scheduled for his neuter tuesday the 13th and will be picked up wednesday, so he will be ready for his
forever home soon!  The only thing he will need is booster shots and a loving,  playful family to make his
life complete.  could it be you?!

4/7/04- WELL I FINALLY GOT FOREMAN TO LET ME WEIGH HIM AND EVEN
THOUGH HE WEIGHS IN AT A WHOPPING 73 LBS HE STILL NEEDS 10-15 LBS!  AS YOU
CAN TELL HE HAS BEEN EATING BETTER THAN US!  3 TO 4 SMALL MEALS A DAY OF
KIBBLE MIXED WITH CHICKEN, RICE AND STARCHY VEGGIES, ALTERNATED WITH
CAN
FOOD.  HE SAYS HE IS IN HEAVEN WITH ALL THESE GOODIES AND IS GLAD TO BE IN
RESCUE, STREET FOOD WAS NOT THIS GOOD!  HE GOES TO THE VET IN THE A.M. TO
MAKE SURE HE IS SET FOR SURGERY (NIP AND TUCK)!  WE FOUND OUT HE LOVES TO
PLAY WITH BALLS, YOU THROW IT AND HE WILL CATCH IT IN THE AIR THEN SLOBBER
AND CHEW ON IT FOR AWHILE.  IT'S FUNNY TO WATCH CAUSE HIS LEGS ARE SO
LONG
HE LOOKS CLUMSY!  WILL KEEP YOU POSTED ON THIS GENTLE GIANT AS THINGS
OCCUR!

4/4/04- IT HAS BEEN 3 DAYS NOW WITH FOREMAN AND HE IS DOING MUCH BETTER,
HE STILL HAS SOME NASAL CONGESTION BUT IS BREATHING BETTER.  FOREMAN IS
IN LOVE WITH MY BRINDLE GIRL JEWELS, THEY LOVE TO PLAY OUTSIDE!  I WILL BE
CALLING THE VET MONDAY MORNING TO HAVE HIM RECHECKED FOR HIS UPPER
RESPIRATORY INFECTION AND SCHEDULE HIS NEUTER.  I HAVE BEEN FEEDING HIM 4
SMALL MEALS WITH CHICKEN, RICE AND VEGGIES TO TRY AND PUT SOME WEIGHT
ON HIM AS HE NEEDS AT LEAST 20 LBS.  HE IS EATING LIKE A CHAMP!  HE STILL IS
DRINKING QUITE A BIT OF WATER AND PEEING ALOT BUT HIS HYDRATION SEEMS TO
BE GETTING BETTER, HOPEFULLY THE VET WILL HAVE SOME SUGGESTIONS THAT I
MIGHT NOT KNOW TO HELP THIS BIG BEAUTIFUL BOXER GET BACK ON TRACK.
ONCE THIS BOY IS UP TO PAR HE DEFINiTELY WILL GO FAST!  HE IS ONE GORGEOUS
BOXER!

FOREMAN HAS ARRIVED AT THE SLEEPY-HOWL THANKS TO RALPH WHO PICKED
HIM UP YESTERDAY AND KEPT HIM OVERNIGHT THEN MET ME TODAY IN VERONA!
THANKS RALPH!

FOREMAN IS APPROX 3-5 YRS OLD, FAWN WITH NATURAL EARS AND DOCKED TAIL.
IT SEEMS LIKE HIS RIGHT EAR MAY HAVE BEEN BROKEN IN THE PAST AS IT JUST
FLOPS ON TOP OF HIS HEAD.  HE ALSO IS VERY DEHYDRATED AND EMACIATED, HAS
AN UPPER RESPIRATORY INFECTION WITH YUKKY GREEN STUFF COMING OUT OF
HIS NOSE.  HE WILL NEED TO GO TO THE DOC TO GET A NIP AND TUCK.  HE CAME
INTO RESCUE THANKS TO THE BROOKLYN SHELTER WHO FOUND HIM AS A STRAY.
HE IS A BEAUTIFUL BOXER AND I'M SURE ONCE HE GETS BACK TO HEALTH HE WILL
BE A VERY HANDSOME BOXER BOY!
