UPDATED 4/25/04 - Finnegan is doing so fantastic, he is such a wonderful dog. He and
Otis (our cat) are finelly getting along. He does enjoy to stalk him every once and a while,
just for fun, but Otis doesn't seem to mind. Tomorrow is our last obedience lesson. He
has picked up everything so fast. He is fantastic on the leash, and knows how to heal
without one if I ask. I can't believe how much he has been shedding, we have so much
hair all over the house. I made the mistake of giving him about three baths in the last
couple months, not knowing that it dries out his skin. Now he is going bald in a few
places, I feel like such a bad mom. What can I do to bring back his nice soft shinny coat?
Other then that, we couldn't be happier. He makes us both so happy, and never stopes
making us laugh. We got him a giggly wiggly ball that he loves, and he will carry it around
the house with him.
UPDATED 3/21/04 - Finnegan is doing just great in his new home. He is probably the
sweetest dog I have ever met. He just loves people and wants to be with us allllll the
time. Whenever I get up to go into another room Finnegan will come with me. He and
Otis (our cat) are getting along fine. Finnegan just has to remember that Otis is in change.
Some days he can walk right past Otis and not even care he's there, then other times he
acts like he has never seen a cat before and want to chase him and bark. It's very funny
to watch, because Otis DOESN'T run away, he stands his ground just looking at the
dog. I can just imagine whats going throught him head.
Obedience training is doing great. He has completed three weeks of class and the trainer
says he is wonderfully. Both Adam and I feel so lucky to have found this wonderful dog.
UPDATED 2/22/04 - Finnegan has been adopted!
02/10/04- Finn has been in for that little surgery that will change his life!....He has been
neutered and is ready to head to his forever home...speaking of which, a wonderful lady
called today and will be picking him up this weekend...It's been a very big day for this
handsome guy! He is very excited and is packing his things.
According to the vet, (who can tell in some mysterious way by looking at their teeth) , he
is likely to be closer to 3 years old. He is now UTD on vacines and has tested negative to
Heartworm and Lyme...He was very uncooperative on a sample for a fecal check,
however, since he is now eating better now, maybe that will come soon enough! Finn has
been a wonderful guest at the Upperfield and will be a blessing to his new home
02/08/04- Introducing Finnegan, which means handsome, and he is without a doubt one
of the most handsome boxer boys that I have ever met!!! He is a lovely brindle color, the
fawn is almost red and the brindling is almost black. He has wonderful white markings
and his ears are natural and soft...and his tail is docked! Finn came to us from a shelter
where he was a stray. So far other than his "marking" habits( he is not yet neutered) I
cannot find a single negative thing about this boy. He is very thin and will need some
fattening up. It will be a pleasure to see this pretty boy fill out. He has longish hair so has
probably either been left outside a great deal by previous owners or has been a stray for
a while. He will go to the vets early this week to be neutered and brought UTD on shots.
We will be able to get a true weight and get the vet's opinion on his age....I'm guessing
he's between 12 and 18 months old ....get those applications in quick for this boy, he isn't
going to last long!! He's a definite keeper!!!
